Getting ripped off by Atlanta bars constantly drives me crazy. You go out for the night and after cover, drinks, and tips you're suddenly out $100. Highlands keeps its prices super cheap and I really appreciate that. I'm sure the college students do too, lol. The karaoke is awesome. They have some pretty great singers get up there. There is a drag show every first Friday. The DJs they have are good. The servers are courteous. In years past, some of the servers/bar tenders were idk a bit...brash? But that really seems to have changed. All of the servers have been pretty nice to my friends and I lately. If you order food- the fries are really good and so are the fried Oreos. If you come on a popular night (like the first Friday of the month), you gotta get there a little early if you want to secure a decent table. There is plenty of parking here. Never a cover (at least as far as I know). They have food and drink specials everyday. They typically are closed Sundays but are open on some holidays/for specific events. If you're in Kennesaw I definitely recommend you give this spot a visit. Thanks Highlands for being a solid, local bar!

Sir, are we going to dinner or entering a federal correctional facility? Once inside, the place looked beautiful. We sat on the enclosed patio because it was too chilly to open the windows and roof. The ambiance was giving! We even bought a cute $25 photo--a one-time charitable contribution to the photography department. Then came the food. My burger tasted like some of the cheapest beef ever, as if the cow had three legs, walked with a rollator and had a pending disability claim. Worse, it arrived lukewarm. The menu said condiments were included, but apparently they were part of a scavenger hunt because I had to ask for them. My husband ordered blackened chicken Alfredo and received grilled chicken and pasta. Where was the blackening, seasoning, or flavor? Someone apparently whispered "Cajun" over the plate and walked away. His food also arrived about ten minutes after mine, so we had separate dinners at the same table. The drink presentation was nice with dry ice effect, but we had to ask for water this was not automatic. Then the enclosed patio filled with hookah smoke. We came for dinner, not a respiratory endurance test! If the patio is enclosed during colder months, proper ventilation is a must. Final verdict: Great ambiance, disappointing food and service. I've never experienced a pat-down at another restaurants in Kennesaw that serves alcohol, so the security measures were surprising. The experience seemed better suited to those with less discerning palates and who consider hookah the main attraction. Perhaps the experience is better in the summertime when the patio is open. For us, the food and drinks should be just as impressive as the atmosphere.

I ordered the Train Wrech Nachos w beef and the Chicken BLT salad. I offer to pay while I wait. Server has to get a manager because unclear on how to pay with a gift card. The manager walks her through it. The difference was $1.54. I give a $5 bill to pay. The manager does NOT ask about tipping. She assumes and stuffs my change into the tip jar. I was going to let the server keep the change. However, it is extremely rude to assume and just take a customer's money. I went to use the bathroom while I waited. It needed to be serviced. Looked like a little kid had been playing in the toilet paper. It was all over the floor. It is now 30 minutes after my order was placed. I get my food. The salad is missing avocado. I go back in to ask for it to be added. A different server says he has to see about adding guacamole. I said no the salad comes with sliced avocado. He looks confused and starts helping another to go person whose order was incorrect. A 3rd server offers to help me. I tell her and she gives me a look like there have been issues today. The same manager that kept my change without asking takes my salad to the back. They throw some chunks of avocado on my salad and hand it back. I understand they appeared busy, but the lack of professionalism and attention to detail was disappointing. I normally frequent the Marietta or Cumberland locations and have a much better experience there; I only stopped here because I was coming back from the outlets, but I won't be making that mistake again. I was most disappointed in the tipping assumption by management and salad issue resolution.

The house salad was okay with ample croutons eith the lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. I ordered Lobster Bisque which was unavailable leaving the only other soup choice, NE Clam Chowder. WHAT A LET DOWN! Taste was bland and watered down like they forgot salt and pepper and substituted skim milk for cream. Hard to believe it came from a "seafood" restaurant. My wife had the Shrimp and Lobster Linguine which at $27.00 was disappointing. Decent size portion of noodles, but skimpy on seafood, especially the so called Lobster and Langastino. I had the Shrimp Trio with Baby Shrimp, Shrimp Scampi, Shrimp Fettuccine, and fries. This was actually decent though not quite good.
