The shortcake was out of this world, the coffee was light, but for the climate that is good, because you can have a few refills. I really appreciated the quick service, clean bathrooms, and clean restaurant. Maybe we came on an off day, but otherwise we found it just ok. We didn't find friendly faces, and it was definitely much more expensive than anticipated. Like, way more than expected. I hate leaving poor reviews on small places, but it was just kind of a huge bummer and I wanted to give others a bit of a heads up to keep your expectations a little lower? I think because we're not locals and have a bigger family (4 kids and 2 parents), maybe they were just overwhelmed by us? I don't know. Disappointing. read more

My husband and I just moved to overgaard 3 weeks ago. We decided to try the Three Bears Cafe today and so glad we did. This is now our favorite restaurant. Raeleen was our waitress and was very friendly, attentive and welcomed us to Overgaard. I had the tuna melt and my husband had the BBQ burger. They have a breakfast and lunch special daily and we will certainly be back to try the breakfast because our lunch was delicious! Michelle, the owner, gave us a big Three Bears Cafe welcome. Three Bear's Cafe is our go-to breakfast joint. The menu is somewhat seasonal and has a very wide variety to choose from. The girls love the bear shaped pancakes and delicious hot chocolate. This is a very quaint cafe. It seemed to be vey busy with a local crowd. Lunch was just starting but we received breakfast menus. We asked for lunch menus instead. I ordered lite as I saw a sign for strawberry shortcake for 2.99. My husband ordered the French dip that we were going to share. It was a good size sandwich which came with fries and Au jus, very promising. The fries were delicious, perfectly seasoned. Love a good French fry! The sandwich turned out to be very bland. The meat was just tasteless but tender. The real star of our meal was the strawberry shortcake. Amazing. Perfectly cooked biscuit with strawberries and homemade whipped cream with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. The cinnamon was an unexpected surprise. It really made the whipped cream something special. This dish was not big enough to share. If you go, order two! read more

This little place earned high praise from my biscuit and gravy eaters. I was informed by my husband and kids that this place had the BEST biscuits and gravy ever. My omelette was good. As other have said, food is good, service is at a relaxed "Mountain" pace. This place cannot support groups well, but for 2-5 it's great. Never flustered, just keeps on scurrying from kitchen to dining room and back and forth behind the counter. Such energy!
