The grounds are well manicured. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are plentiful. The location cannot be beat. We had dinner and drinks at the Blue Pointe Grille the night we arrived. I was a little hesitant to eat at the hotel restaurant. I was bracing to be disappointed. Service was on point and cocktails were well made. Food was delicious. We had a high top in the bar right near a window for a nice view of the lake. Highly recommend.

It's rare that I'm dazzled by a hotel or feel that it's worth the money (they're all stupid…read moreexpensive these days), but Harbor Hotel was a wonderful experience I'd recommend to anyone. Don't get me wrong, it's expensive. But for once I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth! Everything everywhere was meticulously clean and well-kept. Our room was spacious and bright, with a private balcony and chairs, a couch and coffee table, and a full table that allowed us to take comfortable advantage of the room service breakfast. Potpourri sachets in the closet, free water bottles in the lobby, free coffee stations on each floor, and chocolates every night on the pillows--details, people! We also enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub, and of course the gorgeous patio and firepits overlooking the lake which was 80% of the reason we booked here. All of the staff we encountered, from the front desk to the housekeepers, were very friendly. I did think it was a little strange that the fitness center was in a whole different building and you have to walk across the parking lot to get to it, but hey--you get your steps in. The hotel is also very centrally located. On the water, of course, but next door to Seneca Harbor Station from which you can book lake cruises. It's also less than a mile from the entrance to Watkins Glen State Park and hiking trails and only a 5-10 minute walk from most restaurants. We did most things on foot. When you do get back in the car, there are multiple wineries within a 15-minute drive. The only problem the whole visit was the hotel internet, which was terrible every day. You could make do in the daytime, but at night, when everyone was back in their rooms after the day out exploring, it was slow to the point of unusable, and I ended up turning on my data hotspot to even be able to check my email. I would not suggest bringing time-sensitive work with you, and you should not expect to be able to stream videos on your devices. Just disconnect, you'll be less frustrated. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, and while it's nothing mind-blowing, it is a nice option to have (and is one of the few "higher end" type places in Watkins Glen). Menu includes a few of the standard local wines, which was nice!

Regular vehicles park to the left when you pull off the highway and big rigs park to the right. Plenty of space to walk about if you needed to and plenty of space to take a seat. Inside it was well maintained. Facilities were clean and in order. I putzed around outside for a while and walked the grounds. They were mowing grass the day I was here so you kind of had to keep moving to not be in their way. Things to note, aside from table/picnic area, there is a pet area available. But the pet areas don't seem to be maintained as well as the rest of the area, disposal bags were missing even though there was a place for them. Police station is on premise.

You as a state know it was unusual. You also left the flush buttons that don't work, so the whole thing feels like you're committing some bathroom faux pas. Plus the cost this bathroom revolution cost vs. how much water it saves...seems like it will take some time to recoup those tax dollars. But this random stop on the lonely highway makes for an experience all right. I don't need bathrooms to be experiences though. It was clean and there were some sort of foamy waterless toilets, but it did feel like I was in the middle of an experiment.

When we walked in we were greeted by a very friendly man, possibly the same one I spoke to on the phone and offered ice cream, cookies and apple cider! We were also told that they would be doing s'mores around the fire pit that night. I passed by a workout room and little hallway library. The rooms were clean and they made them up every day. There was a small fridge and a coffee maker with coffee, hot chocolate and apple cider pods. There were some signs of wear but nothing horrible. The hotel offered a free breakfast in a little room which consisted of coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate, toast, bagels, muffins, cereal granola bars, fruit, premade waffles and I think yogurt. Not sure what else because i didn't open the little fridge. Tea and a granola bar was good for me. All in all I had a great experience at this hotel, I think it was very pricey for the area but given that there were not many other options, I guess they could get away with the prices they charge.

Room was sufficient, clean, tidy, but furniture a little worn. King bed duvet was pilled from over washing, and bathtub needed resurfacing. Fridge was replaced and did not fit in credenza, leaving a large open space with cords and an opening on the back. Only three hangers in closet and mini safe did not work. Plenty of parking, but not much around hotel. A few fast food joints, a Lowes and a Walmart and Aldi nearby. No sit down restaurant other than an Applebees. Breakfast was standard hotel breakfast, only pork sausage and powdered eggs, waffles or pancakes. No oatmeal, just cereal, and an instant Folgers coffee machine, first time i have seen one. Coffee not bad. Unlikely i will stay here again, but for the area and price it was okay.

A property representative defined the damages as coffee and blood on one towel and one washcloth. I emailed the property requesting to see pictures. While a property representative did eventually post an adjustment to my credit card, the involved property representatives charged me before they provided an explanation or proof.
