I took a class (well technically two in a valentine's day special class which was an amazing value) there over the last 2 weeks and I was amazed by how much I learned and enjoyed. Ted is not only a talented artist, but also a patient and inspiring teacher. He showed me how to turn a lump of clay into a beautiful bowl, step by step, with clear instructions and helpful tips. He also encouraged me to experiment with different shapes, textures, and colors, and to express my own style and vision. He made me feel confident and proud of my work, even though I had no prior experience with pottery. The studio itself is a cozy and inviting space. There are plenty of tools and materials to choose from, and everything is clean and organized. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, and you can chat with other students or work quietly at your own pace. Ted is always there to answer your questions, offer feedback, or just share his passion for art. He creates a stress-free environment where you can relax and have fun. I had a wonderful time at Norris Arts, and I can't wait to go back for another session. I learned a lot and brought home multiple unique pieces of art that I love. It is a hidden gem in the Camas and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to try something new and creative.

I love supporting local and wanted to take my teen for a pottery painting experience. The mugs we…read morewanted were all dirty, but we were assured the markings would burn off. At $40 it's a pricey mug! I understand it's not just the mug, but the paint, rent, kiln, staff expenses. But it meant we'd only be painting one item at that price. So we chatted happily while my teen painted the mug and I asked to color in a tiny heart on the side to fulfill my art craving. That tiny heart, using no additional supplies or brushes, cost me an additional $10. We used 2 colors, 2 brushes and required no guidance, but the final cost of the one mug, plus 2 studio fees (because I painted a tiny heart), without drinks, landed up being over $65! That's a little OTT, but it was a great memory with my teen. I hope the dirt on the mug actually does burn off- because at $65, I'd hope to have an unblemished lifelong memento.

Medallion is a small-business with Wonderful owners! You can feel the welcoming ambiance and "good vibes" permeate through the entire building! They offer independent art classes for *all ages*, and there is never any pressure or anxiety because Medallion provides a safe space to create art at your own pace. If you are short on supplies, she also has those for sale. It's a fun way to learn or improve (I have taken classes with beginners and experts that are there to improve their skills, learn new techniques or just to paint with others.). I always enjoy the class. I'm not a professional but have been going to her classes or those near my former residence on the east coast with the same traveling art instructors for about 20 years. Her instruction prices are unbelievably low . At the time of this writing, she charges $15 for a 3 hour class. It has to be the lowes cost for classes in the area. Dont let the price fool you, however, Bev is the best instructor I've been to or seen on the internet and I've seen A LOT. The other classes I've either taken or priced in the area are $20-$100 per hour or more. If you love to paint and would like to improve your craft you owe it to yourself to take classes.
