One of my favorite place! I received a birthday gift of pottery 101 at Norris Arts studio to learn pottery from scratch. It's great price and I get a full 2 hours of time to learn and practice for just $50. I had no experience before, but I appreciate the Norris Art crew are so patient and made sure my experience was seamless! The first 30 mins, the instructor will teach you all the basics on how to use the spinning wheel, what are the different tools, what is the correct posture and step by step instruction on how to make a pot. The next an hour and half are practicing time that I got to practice on my own with three different pieces of clays. The first two pieces are smaller clays while the last piece you get to combine two clays. It's definitely harder to manipulate through the clay while it's heavier. Post spinning wheel, you get to choose colors/ glaze for each of your piece. They have so many colors you can choose from, and you can also be creative by combine different colors. In 201 you will get to learn how to trim the bottom as well as doing your own glaze. Definitely worth learning! Tip: I got the instructor sample clay as an additional gift because I finished first one in the class for my first piece! It's a cute little jar, so try to finish early!

Some family and I had the pleasure of going to Norris Arts yesterday for a special birthday Pottery 101 class and I cannot say enough good things about the whole thing! It was only $50 for the class and it included 30 minutes of instruction and demonstration from the owner himself, an hour and a half of practice (with help from the instructor whenever we failed), 3 pieces of finished pottery, and a whole lot of fun! Ted was super nice and so knowledgeable! He helped me fix my disasters multiple times and worked one on one with each of us on what we were struggling with. He helped us laugh about our mistakes and constantly made sure that we were having fun and not super frustrated. I definitely plan on going back for the 201 class and some open studio hours so I can better learn now to manipulate and become the "boss" of that clay!

What a "super-wonderful" experience I had with Ted and Anna at Norris Arts. This was my first time working with clay/pottery and I had so much fun I can't wait to introduce my sweetie to this experience on our next date night (hmm, wonder if I can bring some wine - ha). My inner child was awakened, as I discovered there's no end to my creativity. I really appreciated how Ted guided me through my first piece; he was knowledgeable, humorous and patient and allowed me to delve into whatever my piece was transforming into! I would highly recommend this the absolute gem of a creative outlet, for families, kids, dates or just "me" time.

Ted and Anna are amazing. I've been wanting to try pottery for a while now and a guy named Chris Brotigan (Grass Hopper Pottery) suggested Norris Arts. I had a few girlfriends and my mom try an intro class and it was a ton of fun. Definitely signing up for the pottery 201 - 3 class course. Ted is a pot doctor. He fixes basically any mistake you make while giving you a lot of room to work on your own pieces. Can't wait to get my new planters.

We held my daughter's 6th birthday party there and I couldn't be happier. Ted and Anna were exceedingly patient and professional. They had a plan of action and the girls enjoyed creating their sweet gnome and beautiful rose. They went above and beyond in making sure each girl was taken care of with each step along the way. The end product was impressive for this age range and we can't wait to pick the items up after color and glazing are complete! Advice to parents: you know your children so if their attention span is limited, plan elsewhere. The allotted 2 hours were just the right amount of time for these girls. Otherwise, create and enjoy! You're in good hands with Ted and Anna.

Had a fantastic, fun morning with the beginner's class - Ned was a wonderful teacher making the class easy to follow and lots of fun. Excellent introduction if you're looking to see whether it's your 'thing' - not sure it was my calling - but I certainly enjoyed myself!

My husband and I have attended 3 of the introductory date night offers. We even got some friends signed up for pottery and a good time was had by all. Ted is very patient and the value that is included in his classes are the best I have come across. He takes care of all the trimming and prep work so you can come back the next week to glaze your wares. Ted helps you make pieces that you can be proud of. We will definitely be signing up for the more advanced courses. Ted has classes for all skill levels so if you are looking to start a new hobby or get back into potting, Norris Arts is the place to be.
