(note that despite the name, they do *not* serve mimosas!) a cute, quaint, cozy way to sit around and do some crafts with your friends and family! tons of blank pieces to pick and paint, plenty of cheaper and more expensive options, lots of different glazes to choose from - and they take care of the firing for you, how convenient! read more

The space was cute but pretty small compared to the other ones I've checked out. It felt crowded, and the options were nice but not much variety. It also didn't feel like they had many color choices, but it was quiet, they got it finished within 5 days, and they were kind, the prices were reasonable too. It's a nice place to go to when you have free time. read more

They do accept walk ins but appointments are definitely preferred which you can easily book online or over the phone. When booking, you can choose the length of your reservation, ranging from one to two hours but to be honest, I always feel like I need more time lol. Once you're there, you'll be able to browse a huge selection of items to paint, from bowls and plates to cups and animal figurines, I'm sure something will catch your eye. They offer a great variety of paints and tools, and if you have any questions, the staff is more than happy to help. Overall, I really enjoy the experience!! It's one of my favorite activity to do and relaxing way to spend time, whether you're alone or with friends and family. Definitely a good spot to hang out!! read more

Super cute paint your own pottery studio. Really enjoyed the whole experience! Staff was kind and helpful from the moment we stepped in. variety of items to plaint. I would recommend to reserve a longer paint time than you would think! great experience

I patient with friend at Mimosa Studios for my birthday. We had a great time. It's smaller than other places I've been but still great and the staff are super nice. I would recommend making a reservation. read more

Great selection of items to paint, a broad range of prices, helpful and friendly staff -- a really great place and experience. Parking can be a little tricky so make sure to take that into account. Our items turned out so cute! read more

Cute place with a lot of ceramic options despite the small space but the staff were painfully bored of us from the moment we walked in (didn't get greeted, had to ask for the protocol, & didn't check on us except for the 15, 10, & 5 minute warnings they were closing). I felt like i wasn't hip enough for service. There was no A/C so thank god it was in the 70s Why do they close at 5:00? That shuts out a pretty significant corner of the population with day jobs And for the love of god, why is it called Mimosa Studios if they don't have mimosas? ‍ We fortunately live in Mikwaukie & usually go to Venvino Studios in Happy Valley, which is fab read more

Love this place! Took my girlfriend here for a date and we both enjoyed it a lot. Staff were very kind and eager to help and answer any questions. The pottery was pretty expensive but it is a small studio so I can imagine why this would be the case. Regardless mimosa studios is a great and friendly environment and I will definitely come back to paint again. read more

Cute little shop with friendly service, we went in to paint on a rainy day and ended up coming back for some take-home ceramic kits. Need a gift for a grandparent? Bring your kiddos in and bang it out in 30 minutes then come back a week later to pick up the finished product. read more

Great studio in the NE Alberta district. The shop is not that big, so don't expect to come with a huge group of people without making prior arrangements. I think they have 2 six persons table and only 3 two persons table. Not a huge space so be prepared! They have a good selection of pieces to choose from, such as plates to cups, piggy banks to flower pots. It just sort of depends what they have in stock. Pricing is also not bad comparing to market prices. There is a 10% check in offer on Yelp, so don't forget to use that! I took a star away because of the space limitation, I feel like the access to colors are also limited. Also, I didn't receive a call for pick up when the pieces are ready - which is not a big deal because it's my responsibility to remember to pick up, but I've been to places where they will provide that gentle reminder that I appreciated. Overall, it is a good studio and the staff is friendly. read more

Paint Your Own Pottery on Alberta. If you get inspired by all the budding art arising from this street cutting through the heart of Northeast, head to Mimosa to apply brush to pottery. They'll fire it in their kilns for you and you can pick up your masterpiece a few days later. Mimosa must cater in "girls nights out" because they advertise their last Friday margarita night. read more

Fun place to go to get creative and relax! I spent an afternoon here painting a bowl with an intricate design, so I took my time and didn't rush. The music was fun, and the staff didn't make me feel like I needed to hurry up. For a while I was the only one there, but it was a Monday in the summer, so not their typical busy time. They fire things less often in the summer so it took a bit longer to get my bowl back. You pay by the item, not for paint or time. So take as long as you'd like to paint, use as many colors as you want, and have fun! Very small - only 2 tables that seat 8 each. If you have a group, definitely call ahead. Fun small studio to spend an afternoon in - go paint ! read more

We had such an enjoyable time at Mimosa Studio. We felt completely safe in the quaint space and were able to relax into the activity after the friendly staff person helped us get settled. It felt good to lose ourselves in the painting project and we came out feeling refreshed. Our projects turned out well, too. We will return for more of this art therapy, for sure. read more

Went here with friends, including The Tween, and enjoyed myself -- painting a dish for my dog. Wish I'd had the aforementioned margaritas - I might have enjoyed myself just a little bit more...thankfully the dog doesn't seem to mind my painful efforts at art on her behalf. A nice distraction and you end up with an arty piece; staff is friendly and helpful. If there is a party booked, though, it can get crowded fast. This goes on the list of "the Tween likes it" and therefore, 4 stars, because she doesn't admit to liking ANYTHING. read more

I really enjoyed spending some of my free time here during a business trip. They're really helpful, have a variety of paint colors to choose from, and their selection of pottery is great. I painted "skull mugs," which I have never seen in any of these "paint a pottery" places. I also live on the east coast, and they shipped my mugs with priority shipping and lots of packaging. They have a bunch of special deals throughout the week too. read more

I went here last night for their regular Margarita Night, which occurs every last Friday of each month. If you purchase the minimum amount of ceramic ware, you get a free night of gabbing and being crafty with your girlfriends. Did I mention the free alcohol that gets refilled into your glass every time it looks empty? The atmosphere is comfortable and friendly; the staff is really helpful and ready with answers. The hardest part is trying not to make mistakes while you're painting. read more

I wrote the wrong review for Ready Paint Fire, which I was corrected by the owner. The real review is for this place! :) We went a few months ago using a Groupon. This place is so laid back. I have been to another "chain" paint your own pottery in the Phoenix (AZ) area and it's nothing like that. Here, the price that you pay for the dish includes everything: the dish, studio time, use of equipment, firing, etc. It's a little small so I would recommend calling ahead. The service is great, they'll show you how to do stuff if you don't know how. I can't draw a stick figure and I made a beautiful bowl that I use on a regular basis. I can't speak for the quality of the firing (I'm sure there's some technique behind it. I'm not a ceramics artist so I wouldn't know), but I can tell you that I piece I made 6 months ago is still find with usage and hand washing. Big plus: you can bring your own wine while you're painting. Just make sure you bring your own corkscrew and glasses as well :) We made the people next to us green with envy. read more

Really cute little studio...but be forewarned that it IS indeed tiny. I dropped in and found that scheduling an appointment is actually preferred because of its little bity space. Because I was solo, I was easy to accommodate. Other than the teeny weeny space, this place is a new neighborhood favorite of mine. :) PS...The staff is incredible with kiddos! Extremely patient and helpful! read more

Mimosa Studios is a fun paint your own pottery studio located in the Alberta Arts District right in the middle of everything. Every last Friday, Mimosa Studios hosts a margarita party where you pay for the price of the pottery and they serve up free and tasty margaritas while you paint your masterpiece. Perhaps it was the margaritas (that's becoming a theme lately) but I've never had so much fun painting pottery! Let's just say my masterpiece looked a little more Jackson Pollack than Vincent Van Gogh after a few of those drinks! read more

Things to know. They have margarita night Fridays (website said last Friday of the month, but we wandered into on that was very much not a last Friday.) Free chips, salsa and margaritas (with a $15 minimum.) Make reservations. especially on weekends or any time near christmas. There's limited seating. When you walk in and no one comes over to help you, and you can't guess which person is the staff member (which has happened to me every single time, hence the minus 1. Just go start picking out your pottery. read more

Really fun little paint-your-own pottery studio. I went here for a little girls night before heading to a bar. It was a Friday and they served little margaritas and chips while we painted and chatted. It's very casual and fun. I think I paid $28 for a cute little fish shaped bowl. The price includes the time and paint, so you know what you are paying right away. They have a huge selection of paint colors, so you have lots of options. Then, when you are done, you just give them your masterpiece and they will glaze and fire it for you. you can pick it up a few days later all shiny and ready to go. A fun outing with friends and probably with kids too. Also, it's in Alberta, so you can head out to a coffee shop, bar or restaurant after if you want to make a night of it. read more

Love this place! Took my wife here on our anniversary so we could paint coffee mugs for each other and had a blast. The woman working there was really nice, explained everything well, and was readily available if we had questions. Good music in the background, other couples in there as well having fun (it's not just for kids!), and lots of choices of things to paint. Everything was ready a few days later to pick up and they look great! A fun place to get your creative on without feeling like you have to be good at it. Can't wait to return :) read more

My boyfriend and I went to Mimosa Studios for date night on Margarita Night and we had an amazing time! Even though neither one of us is very creative we were able to make really nice pieces. There is a lot of artwork up around the studio that can help inspire you and they also have books to look at and stamps that you can use to make it super easy! Allison was friendly and had lots of helpful tips. The studio was very intimate and fun to work in. How can anyone have a bad time with FREE bottomless margaritas? We will defiantly be back for another date night :) read more

2.5 stars. We came here with a work group to paint and team build. The place is so small, our group of 10-12 didn't even fit comfortably. The place was piping hot inside so the gal turned the AC on. However, the AC made an awful high pitched noise that was impossible to ignore. The options were limited and fairly expensive. The cheapest thing was a blank 3x3 tile for $5-$10 while mugs and plates were closer to $20-$30. While the staff was so sweet and helpful with painting, the place was so small and hot, I'd choose a different place. read more

During Covid they will deliver you supplies and you can paint from home. I'm Making a Mother's Day gift this way. Positive experience all around. read more

I took my girl friend here for our one-year anniversary. We were a walk in and accommodated us promptly and friendly. They communicated the pricing, painting and baking processes clearly, letting us know what exactly what we were getting for our money. We had a splendid date! A day after painting, they contacted us immediately about a baking concern (that the mug my girl friend painted may or may not crack). They said we would get a refund if it cracked but they would also strive to try and fix it for us. It ended out coming out chipped, but they gave us instructions for some "at-home" fixes if we wanted. They reimbursed us IN FULL for the mug; we weren't expecting that! We really felt like we were taken care of and that a positive experience was a vital priority of theirs! read more

Great place. Very helpful staff, prices clearly marked and pick up of pieces was a breeze. Can't wait to do double date night here.

My husband and I went on an afternoon date here and it was great! He was skeptical at first, but got really focused on his project and was surprised how much he enjoyed himself as someone "who isn't into art projects." I've gone here with a group of friends before too and we had an excellent time hanging out and painting. I hear there's a margarita night, so put that on my to-do list! read more

Went on a Monday morning (11 am) with a friend. We were pretty much the only ones there and the place was blessedly a/c cooled. The selection of pottery pieces is really diverse in shapes and in prices. I went for a mug (they have various styles and the prices range all over. The one I picked was $28) and my buddy chose a cat figurine. We were both tired, but after a while we kind of found our zen working on our little projects. It was great to just relax, chit chat and let our creative sides take over. The selections of paints was nice and we had a lot of fun. We're hoping to go again soon! This is a fun adorable cozy warm place and a great idea for a rainy day, child or an adult. I go here when I want to make a fun personalized memorable gift for a birthday/Xmas and not spend more than $25/30. They have many many choices on items to pick out and paint. I will say this isn't the place to go for a serious art project. I tried to do this last time - I picked out a coffee mug and tried to really do a great job for a friend in the hospital (usually I just have fun with it, get paint everywhere, laugh a lot) - this time I really wanted to do an amazing job, but between the loud music and the employee eating fast food and crumpling up her wrappers 2 feet from me right when I was painting a delicate part - And to the other employee unpacking boxes on the other side of me - I realized that this isn't probably the place to go for an oh-so-serious project. But this is a fun happy place with a sweet vibe! read more

We just spent the afternoon painting a small ceramic unicorn a shade called Deep Purple. When it's Spring Break and practically snowing outside and a sharp stick in the eye sounds better than facing the OMSI shuttle bus hordes, Mimosa Studios is a brilliant low-key way to get out of house with small child for a bit of cheap fun. The studio is cute and clean, the woman working there was helpful and child-friendly, and 12 bucks bought us an hour of paint time and aforementioned purple unicorn. Does anyone other than girls aged 4 - 8 pick out the unicorn, I wonder? Anyway, check this place out for a lift on a gloomy afternoon. read more
