I love this creative space. Everyone is made to feel welcomed. They have the most amazing handmade items for sale, offer classes that don't make you feel intimidated to not know what you are doing and the owner is a great human! They believe in community and offer options to buy scholarships to support students who might not be able to pay for classes. It's just a great all around place! read more

Absolutely amazing workshops to dip your fingers in some clay. Beginner friendly and great for all levels. I'd recommend signing up for their e-mail list since their workshops have limited space and fills up quickly! Their staff are extremely friendly, and all their products are so intricate. I highly recommend checking this small business out and booking some workshops with some friends. It's an unforgettable experience. We found a way to craft some super cute mini durians which was such a feat! Even if you're just curious it's cool to pop your head in and look at the space and the crafty items they have on display. Tip: Google Hours were incorrect last I checked, they're super responsive on instagram though, so if you want to double check anything or have questions definitely hit them up on social media. read more

I wanted to love this place but unfortunately it fell short for me. My boyfriend and I took a ceramics class together and stopped by last weekend to pick up our pots. The girl at the front desk asked us which date we took the class and what our initials were, and went to the back and brought out a bunch of pots. She gave me mine but to our surprise, my boyfriend's pot was nowhere to be found. She was really nice and double checked the back for us, but still wasn't able to find it. She apologized and said the studio has been disorganized, and if they end up finding it they'd reach out to us (which I doubt will happen at this point). That was it. It was a disappointment considering how pricey the classes are, and frankly, pretty unprofessional on their part to just lose it and not offer at least a partial refund or anything in return. And as for the class itself- we took a night class and the instructor seemed kind of impatient and annoyed anytime the students didn't really get the hang of it. Towards the end of the class she made it clear that it'd been a long day and she just wanted to go home. Her demeanor made me feel extremely anxious and I felt like I had to rush to finish my pot. We weren't able to fully enjoy the experience of our first ceramics class and felt disappointed. Like I mentioned earlier, these classes aren't cheap and it's sad that we ultimately had such a mediocre experience. This is a cute space and the gift shop has some great things for sale, but I'll probably think twice before taking another class here again. read more

I am taking a beginner's ceramics class here after a 6-year break from one of my favorite hobbies. The facilities are smaller in scale (with only 6 wheels), but the intimacy helps the creativity of the students and the resident artists who rent the space. They have a nice selection of glazes and two small kilns which they rent out. Another plus is that the studio is open till 9:00 pm most evenings and is open everyday of the week (weekends have shorter hours). My ceramics teacher and his wife own the studio. She teaches most of the painting classes in the other side of the studio. The family feeling is really the best part of this studio. I have been taking painting classes with Jolyn Fry for the last year and a half and love it. Since I hadn't taken a painting class since I was 15 I was worried I would be intimidated, but she truly creates an inclusive space. I really respect her personal work - she has an amazing eye for color. I also highly recommend her color mixing class - it may seem tedius at first bc we aren't necessarily painting objects, however dedicating time to understand values and tinting has transformed my work. I take painting with Jolyn Fry and it has been wonderful. Jolyn creates an inclusive and flexible environment that makes it so any excuses you have to not participate is taken away. So then you're like, damnit, I guess I'm going. Once there and painting, she creates a calm and encouraging environment to help you paint despite any self-criticism. I learned some foundational techniques in the Intro class, and then transitioned to seminar where I continue to practice, explore, experiment, and get guidance when needed from her. I've taken two classes (drawing and painting) at Radius Art Studios--both from Jolyn--and they were the best art classes I've ever taken. I was super out of practice (it's been many a year since I picked up a pencil or paintbrush!), but Jolyn was very patient with me and struck a nice balance between giving general instruction to the whole class, and helping students individually. She really knows her stuff! Most importantly, Jolyn really encouraged and inspired me to get back into art, and make time for it in my life. I took an intro to wheel throwing class with Korin and it was great! Wheel throwing is hard, but I learned a lot, and it was an excellent break from my computer! This is a safe place for white privileged queer folks. If you're a person of color this is not the spot for you. I felt really uncomfortable with the lack of diversity in the artists that pay for a membership. I am a person of color and after touring and paying my fee for studio space i felt so grossed out the lack of diversity and the inclusiveness of the studio i never came back. Love it!! A great place to learn about throwing and create art. My boyfriend got me a 1 time ceramics class there before Covid-19 and it was very informative and fun. I learned so much and the instructor was kind and very knowledgeable. I also did their open studio time for a while and loved to practice throwing. I can't wait until I can go back in person. I joined Radius late in 2008. The space is clean (amazingly so for a pottery studio), has heat, a backyard and 3 kilns. The member shelves for the pottery studio provide a good amount of space. The people are friendly. Access to materials is easy. I love working in this space. read more

Signed up for the one time pottery class and had a great time! I think our instructors name was Jess, and she was awesome. It was my first time on a pottery wheel and I felt incredibly comfortable and made two great pieces (I had a hard time choosing which one to keep). Fun date night activity! read more
