I've been coming to Sunita for eyebrow threading since 2016, and to be fair, they do a consistently good job with eyebrows. That's what kept me coming back for over a decade. But the service is a mixed bag. Sometimes they're warm and friendly... and other times, the checkout experience negatively shifts the vibe of the visit. Today, for example, I left a normal tip, and immediately got, "That's it?" When I asked, "Do you want more?" she said yes. So I gave her another dollar, but she wasn't pleased. What sucks is that this isn't the first time I've been guilt-tripped or made to feel awkward for leaving a standard tip, and it's gotten really uncomfortable. After 10+ years of being a loyal customer and supporting them on Yelp, I think it's time for me to find a new threading spot where the checkout doesn't feel like a negotiation. Also worth noting: they charge extra to use a credit card and they don't accept Apple Pay, so paying is always a bit inconvenient on top of the awkward tipping pressure. Great brows, but the tip-shaming and inconsistent service have become far too frequent for me to overlook. read more

Very unprofessional, every time I go in to try and get a wax I ask her if she can take me and she says yes. So while I wait people tend to come in and then end up wanting to go with the girl who waxes. She gets busy and chooses to take the people after me. I understand it's just brows but she will legit take 2-3 people after me. Like just tell me to make an appointment at tht point. The woman threading my brows was talking over my face THE ENTIRE TIME! I could smell what she had for lunch. It's so unprofessional! She not only talked over my face the entire time but she threaded my brows, forehead, and upper lip SO RUSHED! My lips were red due to her scrapping over them. I've had my upper lip threaded for years and this has never happened before. When she was "finished" I had patchy hairs everywhere I asked her to go over it all one more time - she did so but she made it clear she was annoyed. After she was done, there were still patchy hairs but I decided to leave because I felt very uncomfortable. How is this place in business? They are so unprofessional. I tried this place out because I saw a coupon for $3.99 eyebrow threading in the Penny Saver. I have to say that they do a great job. I usually go to i Salon, in Artesia. They usually miss hairs and are rushing to get to the next customer. You pay $3.99 there and you end up going home and plucking the leftover hairs they missed. This business is clean and quaint. I had the lady at station #1 and she did a great and clean job. No baby hairs! She massaged my eyebrows a little before she applied the cooling gel. She wasn't at all rude when I presented the coupon either. Eyebrow threading with the $1 off coupon was $3.99 total. They even have a hairstylist there also. I asked how much it is for a bang trim and it's only $3! What a steal! I came back the following week and got my bangs trimmed and also received great service. They do a great job here on eyebrows and haircuts. So, if you're sick of the Artesia area for threading, come down to Hawaiian Gardens and check this place out. Been going to this place for quite some time, and every time I leave here Im satisfied. This location is tucked away in a plaza that isn't very busy aside from the Walmart, so it can be easily missed. Both locations have a stamp card and with your 7th stamp your 8th threading session is free. They take both cash and card, but if you're using a card they do charge a $0.65 service fee so best to bring cash with you. I used to go to the other location off of South and Lakewood but Yunes is the one reason why I will make the extra trip out that way. She is very professional and sweet. She's always attentive to what I want and perfects the art of threading so My eyebrows are perfect every time she does them. I can't speak for the other ladies but If you're in the area stop by and give them a try. read more

Well... I used to come here all the time. When I would come I would usually bring a second person who I would pay for. One time I went by myself and they have these little business cards that they stamp every time you pay for your eyebrows. After like 6 or 7 you get one FREE. Well when I would bring the 2nd person they would skip one box and stamp the box after that meaning that I had paid for 2. The time that I went alone and they stamped my card I saw that they went back to an empty box and stamped that one which was totally wrong. When I pointed this out and explained to them what the other lady would do they said "we never do that" and I wasn't going to stand there and argue and they didn't seem to want to help me so I took off very disappointed and I have never been back. Other than that I did like the way they would do my eyebrows and how you would get a free service after the 6th or 7th time you went but oh well their customer service skills weren't that great. read more

Tried this location out because my threading salon closes early and this place is a lot closer to my work. Loved the lady who did my eyebrows (I think her name was Sambi? Sumvi?) She made it painless and she took her time to get it just right, truly appreciate people like that. HOWEVER, she had an issue with the card reader-not sure if she knew how to use it but she tipped herself $5.65. It was my fault for not looking at it before I signed but it seemed like she tried to put in the price and then accidently pressed the same amount for tip. Not sure how I feel about that. This was my 1st time at this threading salon. I went to #3 station for my daughter getting ready for her 1st day back at Gahr HS. Her eyebrows were loke she did them herself, she was in tears when we got in the car. There was no time taken , no shaping. Horrible experience . I guess we just gave away 5 dollars. The only flaw that this place has is that there is a lady here who barely speaks English and doesn't understand a lot of what you will ask her. I've been coming to this eyebrow place for a couple years now and generally have good experiences but today was awful. Coming into the salon there was only one person in here in the chair and only one lady working, we put our names in and didnt have to wait long like usual. The threadists name was "Money(?)" and the second she started she was going through my eyebrows so quickly and she never even stopped to look at my shape of my eyebrows. She then zoomed through my upper lip and gave me the mirror. she missed some giant patches of hair on my lip and when i told her she was irritated but redid it. Then i started to check out my eyebrows and im so disappointed. My eyebrows are on the thicker end and one of them she took way too much from underneath and made it super short. When i showed her she wanted to take some off of the top of the other eyebrow to make it "even" but it would have totally made things worse she completely ruined the shape of my eyebrows. I did not have a good experience I had for my eyebrow threading, I cannot remember the name of the lady who did my eyebrow (one who does too much make-up I saw among the ones present there). Even after letting her know about few left over hair while shaping my eyebrow, she was rude in accepting and tried using the thread very hard on my eyebrows that it was red and swollen for next few days.
