It is a great location right on the beach. The office staff is super friendly. The place has ample space, is clean, and has plenty of areas to enjoy the views. Plus... the wild bunnies are an added bonus. You can have bonfires on the beach, and walk for miles along the beach. This place is very convenient because it has the best coffee house+bakery right down the street. It has a kitchen and a barbecue pit to cook meals, a full size fridge, and a couch and dining table/chairs. For what you get, and where you are, their rates are very reasonable. I hesitate to post this because I still want to be able to stay there... but it is a really sweet spot along the coast and others should enjoy it as well.

We stayed in unit #3 for valentines weekend , upon entry we were pleasantly surprised to see it…read morelooked nicer in person then in the photos. unit smelled musty so I opened the window to air it out then it was fine. the ocean front view was great had a large flat screen tv in the living room above the fireplace and comfortable couch, loved watching the bunnies in the yard and the people walking dogs down on the beach, fire place was nice for warming up. kitchen had just enough for cooking a meal for two, there were limited dishes 4 exactly and 4 utensils ,there is no dishwasher in the unit and bathtub was very small . bed was soft but comfortable, no tv in the bedroom, carpet in living room needs a deep cleaning. unit felt a little overpriced at 340 a night for the condition of this unit, but it is the best price I could find for a ocean front view in cannon beach for valentines. something that was not explained in advance is the parking spots outside are marked and you are expected to park in the assigned spot ours was a bit away from our unit, also the stairs leading up to the unit are narrow and steep was fine for us but probably not great for older people. Only the unit next to ours had access to the stairs leading to the yard which really bothered me the entire time not having access to the yard in the back, but it was a fairly nice cozy place to spend valentines weekend and it was quiet.

And it's best done solo or with the love of your life, as happens, away from the familiar or crowds. Especially if, just before the new year turns, you can give yourself some time to reflect on the past year and sort through hopes and desires to set expectations for the next year...that's golden. The Courtyard was the place picked this year to take some downtime after a hectic year. Am gifting myself a few days here to reflect and get ready for the upcoming new year so a spacious, comfortable room is important. And we found that the rooms at the Courtyard have everything needed: from fireplaces, to huge soaking jetted tubs, to balconies to sit out and look at the night sky. Great help from Maiya setting up our reservation, and JLyn who checked us in remembered me from a couple months ago -- all the pre-visit arranging was very hospitable, which is an important part of the overall vacation experience. Also pretty great to be so warmly welcomed after such a long drive through the fog and winding roads. Totally lucked out with the room. Now deeply content, curled up in a very comfortable king size bedroom with fireplace going and the balcony has already offered us a view of the stars -- and in tonight's case the half moon as well is hanging so brightly in the clear night sky. We're told on the last night of the year December 31 the moon and the Pleiades will be neighbors for the night; thrilled that I'm going to have a view of that from my balcony. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the room is clean -- always is here, which is one of the reasons we return. One of the small things we love is the towel art and the Kleenex or tissue art. Whoever does the rooms here really takes time to make those small touches -- and it stands out (when you spend a lot of time in hotel rooms you can tell who cared about the space). And this room is not only on the top floor but has the open space of a comfortable sitting area with sofa so I can enjoy catching up on Stranger Things while enjoying some fresh fudge and drinking some tea. Don't underestimate the simple joy of having a fireplace when at the coast because it's so cold and dark outside that the warmth and bright light of a reliable gas fire makes all the difference. Even picked up some fresh fudge from the whiskey bar on the corner -- the Alchemy lounge -- just a minute walk away (in the same building as the hotel registration desk and foyer) before retiring to the room. Put the kettle on (it's fantastic that this place has kettles for us to make our own tea) and waiting for it to hit whistling so we can enjoy some peppermint tea. Never underestimate the luxury of having not one, but two mugs when traveling solo because you can make two different cups of tea... a favorite thing after a long day of driving, on a cold night. Whatever everyone else is doing in their neck of the woods, find myself very grateful to be here at Cannon Beach in such comfortable and peaceful quarters. Love this hotel. Merry holidays, everyone.

If you aren't a people person you probably shouldn't be employed in the hospitality industry. Quiet, surly, little to no instruction or insight offered. It appears that it may be owned and/or managed by someone local--read that Vacasa bought it from Brian, the original owner, but that it was sold to someone else of late. Anyway, Angela is very kind and accommodating, the rooms are remodeled, clean, comfortable, you can actually cook in the kitchen, and your dogs are welcome here. Landscaping has been improved as well. Sand Dune is a comfortable spot that feels mostly like home.

They have a nice VHS, book, and game library. They also have bikes to borrow which we use so we can run our dog. There is the usual cable TV, coffee, fridge, microwave in the room. The rooms are very clean. The back of the motel has the cutest sitting area with nice chairs and grass to lay in, which we discovered when we had the "honey moon" suite. The walls are very, very thin and floors above are creaky- you can hear conversations and footsteps from the surrounding rooms. You're provided earplugs at the bedside- definitely needed if you're a light sleeper. Tip- parking at the front is limited and ideal for smaller vehicles. We enjoyed the temperate climate & exploring the MANY scenic coastal attractions &nearby beach towns . Camp Rilea was perfect , as our secure & quite DOG FRIENDLY "base camp".Every evening we met "new friends"amongst our camping neighbors , as we enjoyed a campfire & hot coco before bed ! Except for that one Evening we visited the Port light pub , right there on base for a few Adult Beverages and Happy Hour snacks ! We were thrilled every evening to view a large heard of ELK that tends to bed down(ironically ) in the gun range area . We also found the fishing lake, to be a lovely scenic stroll with our canine companion. We even received permission to go onto the beach(After ammunition training hours)in the late afternoon.... It was a little bit of a drive & involved hiking over a large sand dune . Our reward was quite a rare treat .....three miles of coastline all to ourselves! A sunset to remember.

Over the Veteran's Day weekend the hotels in the area were booked solid, many with rooms at $250 or $300/day. I paid $30/night for a barebones room on the base. My room, while simple, was clean, had fresh bedding and towels, a nice shower, and with the window open I could hear the ocean. For those with access to the Oregon military reservation, it's quite a value. One must be prepared for extra security at the gate, and you may have to call the lodging reservation number more than once to get a live person, but for the price, the location can't be beat.

There was even a discounted rate if you booked direct, which is the only way to go, IMO. First time patrons to this home away from home. We initially had to check in at the Inn at Cannon Beach about a mile down Hemlock Street where we were warmly greeted and given details about our stay, the surrounding area, and freshly baked cookies! The one bedroom Suites come with a designated parking spot, which is wonderful, but the spots are on the smaller side, so a sedan or compact car would be ideal. We had a comfortable stay, cozy linens and soft towels. Great water pressure in the walk-in shower. The oscillating pedestal fan in the bedroom was greatly appreciated, especially since A/C is not available. The kitchenette was stocked with the usual desirable appliances and utensils. The overall space was clean and the furniture well placed. Artwork of Oregon Lighthouses were on display throughout the Suite and fitting for their namesake, paying tribute to the state's history and acknowledging other coastal towns! The location of this small upscale Inn is very desirable even though it does not have an ocean view. Many great restaurants are within walking distance or no more than a mile away. Shopping for pleasure or essentials is also very convenient. We enjoyed taking a leisurely stroll to the beach and relishing in the sight of Haystack Rock! It has been a pleasure to converse with the staff of the Lighthouse Inn and we look forward to staying here again!
