Great family rv park. Lots of activities and they have 2 pools. Thousand trails parks are all around.

This location is an absolute insult to all Thousand Trails locations and should not share the name. Had this been our very first thousand trails stay, and not our last, we would have never ventured to the dozens of locations we did over the years and for that I am thankful. We have loved and utilized our annual membership up until staying here. This place is a disgrace and I strongly urge anyone wanting to visit to stay elsewhere. Unfortunately the people who run this location are unprofessional, sloppy, disorderly and do not know how to properly run a camp site. We stayed here earlier this month and no one was at the front office and we never received an email that had a spot number. We called and text the ranger several times and never received a response. After a long drive with 3 kids we just parked in the first spot we saw available assuming it was first come first serve since we never were given an assigned spot. The second day a ranger comes up to us later in the day after we were all unpacked and settled and told us we had to move, to an entirely different park! They were so rude and we let them know absolutely not, we were not moving because of their mess up. The lady took it real personal and made it her vendetta to somehow make us pay for her mistake?? She started threatening us and telling us she would have us suspended from thousand trails which we didn't care because this was our last trip on our membership that expired the following week and after this experience we definitely didn't want to renew. But then we got a letter saying we owed a fee for a late check out when we left at 10am!!! What a scam. This lady is absolutely insane that it's laughable. I truly cannot believe thousand trails has someone like that being the face of that campground. read more

Thousand Trails Menifee is a beautiful location. Stayed for 21 days and really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and peaceful. This site has fun weekly activities for kids and families. They had a live band come out for their glow show which was super fun. Great trails all around, small gym on site and laundry. Love that it's not far from attractions and Temecula wine tasting. Will definitely return. Would give 5 stars if they had their onsite store open more often. read more

We attended bingo night and it was a lot of fun. We love all of the activities at this campsite and staff is usually very welcoming with the exception of the woman at the gate that we got this time upon checking in. read more

We stayed in a cabin Father's Day weekend and our family enjoyed it very much. We checked in on Friday and checked out Sunday morning. We swam in the north pool, played shuffle board, enjoyed outdoor miniature golf, partook in the kids playground, and much more. The facility has a stocked pond to fish and a small store to purchase small needs. My daughter played lawn checkers and chess with new made friends. The facility is close to grocery stores and eateries. We participated in a family friendly bingo, listened to live music on one evening with a raffle (where my husband won a fishing pole and a large glass mug contained with multiple items), and we enjoyed a magic show. We missed the corn hole tournament and free Father's Day lunch provided by the facility. All of the employees were friendly and attentive. I'm Gen Z and I can remember fond life long memories when my grandfather would take our family to different thousand trails locations. I would make new friends from 8-17years of age. The kids would run around until dusk. Thank you to Thousand Trails for providing many of my fondest childhood memories and allowing me the opportunity to share a similar experience with my children. read more

My camping trip here at Menifee was relaxing and fun. During my time, there was various activities such as bingo as well as a live band that performed. As RV parks go this one is a very large park about 650 spaces. Some 50 amp sites have upgraded electrical pedestals. Check the 30 amp for a bad plug outlet signs of melting is a red flag.? Luckily my power cord did not need to be replaced but wires bin the box melted so they shorted out after the melt down at the pedestal. All repairs have been done. Moved to a different site as 444 was fixed by electric contractors. read more

My husband and I just became members this past September. We are very pleased with the ease of making reservations. Most of the facilities are extremely nice and clean. We stay in Acton most of the time because it is near family, doctors and etc... The only real complaint I have with Acton is the lack of doggy bags provided and the fact their laundry facilities have broken machines and the other side closed. Making it difficult for any of us to do our laundry. read more

We received a one year free "Zone Pass" with the purchase of our RV. And during that year, we had no problem booking sites and camping at several Thousand Trails resorts. So when our year was up, we bought a Zone Pass and upgraded it to access Encore resorts as well. And that's when our problem arose. We haven't been able to book a reservation ANYWHERE since! They're always booked-up! It's my opinion, that if Thousand Trails doesn't have the capacity, they should STOP accepting new customers! For our year, they're into us for about $900 and we have not been able to make a single reservation! Oh, and by the way, there are no refunds on this crappy membership! Buyer beware!!! read more

We are at Pio Pico what a difference 90 miles make Let me say that this is only a review for wilderness lakes We have been at several TT campgrounds some are really nice some ok but none were as bad as Wilderness Lakes It's a campground for 1 or 2 nights to rest and move on I may comeback to regroup while traveling to another destination The campground is run down there are a lot of Rangers or attendants driving around doing I don't know what the bathrooms are not clean they run out of paper they said they were short handed but I see several maintenance personnel driving around doing nothing The location is just poorly managed I think a new manager would make a world of difference read more

The entire property is a S**t hole. Run down and dilapidated. Drove through it because we were contemplating a membership. Bicycles under trailers, propane bottles laying around, narrow roads, potholes, overgrown trees and bushes. At capacity daily, no room to back in your trailer without hitting one or all three of the cars parked at the campsite across from you. Literally multiple cars parked parallel to the road at nearly every campsite. Lot's of freshly paroled riff raf posted up throughout the property. RV's with tarps on the roofs. The canal that runs through the property is filthy, and stinks like desperation. Tons of kids running around screaming and yelling, and apparently quiet time is 11pm. Can you imagine? Needless to say, I won't ever be staying there, let alone purchase a membership. Again, the place is scary. Go check it out if you don't believe me. read more

Just joined Thousand Trails only about two weeks ago at the insistence of a friend. He gave a good pitch. Basic membership was only $499 for the year. They got the entire Country divided up into five regions, you get one region with your membership. If you want to stay in another region It'll cost you an additional $59 for the year. So we got the Southwest region with our membership and we paid extra for the Northwest region. We booked a fourteen day stay at Wilderness Lakes up in Menifee, California. It's a pretty large site boasting over 550 individual camp sites. Everything from 50 amp hookups to thirty amp hookups, some dry camping sites, some tent camping and several cabins. We arrived on July 18th. Surprise number 1, they do not assign you a site number. Once inside the gate, you have to find a site to pull into. 50 amp sites are limited to the area around the canal. We must have rode around for close to an hour and ended up pulling into a 30 amp site for the night. Now I have a 38 foot Fleetwood, and the only camping we have done with it are either "dry camping" or 50 amp. Just to let ya know 30 amp is useless. We could only use one AC unit and that did not keep the inside temp down, we were miserable for the rest of the day. The next morning we were able to pull into a 50 amp site only because we pulled into a site that some friends of ours were in and they were leaving. Surprise number 2, most of the amenities that they have were either not availabe or were modified because of this Pandemic crap. Didn't see anyone playing tennis or shuffleboard. Baseball fields were tore up, probably because of the virus crap and can't be completed until after it is all said and done. Pools were open but only allowing 10 people in at a time, then they would close every couple hours for "disinfecting". It wasn't even worth waiting because people started lining up almost as soon as they closed. The Country Store that they have was closed until further notice. So for even the simplest of supplies or snacks, you have to ride into Menifee for what you need. Really the best thing about joining so far is that we will be able to camp pretty much for free for the rest of the year. I know Thousand Trails has nothing to do with the Coronavirus bullshit, but with masking and social distancing they should at least be able to open their Country Store. A word of advice to Thousand Trails, maybe you should upgrade some of your 30 amp sites to 50 amp sites. In fact doubling the number of 50 amp sites would be a good start. I think I have found my calling on Yelp, to review different campsites that we visit. Until next time, safe travels... read more

We normally come to this park every year. They have a different park manager and all of a sudden the rangers are so rude. This RV slideout isn't clearly over the stick markers. The ranger said this is fine and if I don't like it I can move. We will go to a different park when we are in CA. read more

Was hoping I'd be leaving a 5 star review. But as mentioned in my previous review, there were a few minor hang ups. The bothering me about my handicap dog, while all she was doing is sniffing the rocks in our area. And the couple of overzealous rangers/gate attendants. Minus those issues this place would be perfect! Pros: I like that they don't care about the 10 year rule with RVs. Nice to see some older ones, as Im a single mom & don't have the luxury of keeping up with the Jones. I also like seeing RVs with character. Loved the spaced out spaces. We definitely weren't packed in like sardines. All my neighbors were wonderful & helpful when I had problems. Only things that went wrong, was being bothered about my dishwasher. And dog. Other than that was a pleasant month. I enjoyed the wildlife & kids playing. As at our old park they had a weird, no kids riding bikes rule. So I will chalk up the negatives to a few bad rangers. But everyone else was really sweet & very accommodating. I felt welcome from the 2nd I got here. They (Brandie) made my moving experience as easy & smooth as possible. Which was beyond appreciated. I'd never moved the trailer on my own & have severe PTSD. So I was pretty stressed & overwhelmed. They were stellar in checking me in. Hassle free & welcoming. I have been a member of thousand trails since 2017. We financed the membership through them, paying $1000 down and paying monthly plus membership fee of 40$ ish per month. In 2018 we lost everything in hurricane Florence and you know who didn't care. If you guessed thousand trails you would be right. No way to get out of contract, no reduction on fees or option to pause fees was offered. Anyone who has had to deal with insurance knows it pays for nothing. We had to replace everything out of pocket while still paying for a membership we can't use. As of this date we are still paying for it too. The fees for this versus the places it allows you to go, lets just say you are way over charged. Are you only going east or west coast, then you will find a place otherwise doubtful. Why is this review so late you may ask, because I don't do reviews and my husband literally just mentioned that I could do it. Save your money unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars a month for nothing you can use and no way to get out of it for 5 years. read more

We've enjoyed camping at most of the Thousand Trails campsites, but the new people running Menifee Lakes are horrible. They are rude and don't accommodate the members like the previous people did. We will probably be cancelling our membership. read more

Hospitality of check-in staff can be a hit or miss, but overall it's a decent park with full hookup options or old fashion camping. -Quite park with water features and ponds throughout. -General Store available for any forgotten necessities -Wi-Fi available in select locations -Beware of the geese ;) BONUS... I was excited to visit Thousand trails Menifee The evening before I bought fishing poles for my grand kids whom we were meeting there. When we arrived the park ranger told me that the water was contaminated and the fish died but my grandkids could put their lines in the water and pretend they were fishing and he wouldn't charge me. The ponds stunk the next morning I took them to the putting range it was covered with goose poop some of which was obviously there for a long time. The place is completely rundown the bathrooms have not been painted in years they had onlyone soap dispenser in the bathroom and it was empty. On top of that the geese started a racket at four AM and didn't stop. They have people living there on annual permits so you feel like your intruding and to top it off on Sunday morning there was a chick fight right beside us they were screaming obscenities at each other accusing each other of all sorts of things. The pool complex was nice . I paid $160 for two nights what a ripoff . I was going to join Thousands Trails but based on my experience and the glowing reviews people gave this place I will give their parks a wide berth read more

2 stars, would have been 5, but... This facility is awesome (aside from the flies)! We had a blast tent camping, here in April. Beautiful and tons of fun things to do! But, here is where it all goes down south. I purchased my reservation online, paid the required $45 deposit. Received the Reservation Confirmation via e-mail. Stating my stay for the weekend was $96. I paid $45 deposit, and the amount due at check-in was $51. Ok, great!! Pack up my kiddos and arrive at the facility. The Ranger tells me I owe $110. WHAT???? I explain that there must be a mistake. He told me to pay the $51 and come back tomorrow when someone would be able to help me. Ok! Fair enough. We set up camp and the very next morning my kiddos and I go to get the bill settled and I show them my confirmation e-mail (on my phone). After 1.5 HOURS sitting in the little Ranger Office with my kids, during our VACATION, they finally let us go back to camping!! 2 months later, I receive a bill stating that I owe $59. Do the math, yep, good job accounting. I fax to Dave the manager my confirmation stating that I do not owe them ANYTHING! Never heard back from him, I didn't follow up, my bad! 3 months later, YES, 3 MONTHS LATER, they charge me $59 with no notice. So, Dave is NEVER available, so poor Mike had to get the brunt of my dissatisfaction. He later calls be back and says that it's not worth it and he will do "something nice" for me and reverse the charge. "SOMETHING NICE"? Uuuummm, I didn't owe you anything and the proof is in your hands, Mike!!! You owe me the $59 and should NEVER have taken it! Bad business...watch your wallet!!! read more

Went to visit my sister and the guards that check out the guest were very rude!!! Not friendly . I understand they were just doing their job but they need to watch their manners . I would not recommend this place for anyone . I just wanted to drop off my sister. The guards were yelling and coursing at me..it was very unprofessional . Bad place. read more

Overgrown with weeds. Junky fulltimers. Great Easter activities for kids, big dining/rec hall but "Gramma's" kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. Food is mediocre and she is a grump. We stayed from 8/26/16-8/28/16 and we were excited about visiting a place we had heard so much about. If it were only the positives I would have gave them at least 4 stars. Here are the positives. 1) Close by for a weekend getaway. 2) Great area for kids to ride bikes. It seems everyone drives the 5 mph. 3) Pool and Jacuzzi were clean. 4) Kids enjoyed all of the activities such as mini golf, fishing, riding their bikes, etc 5) People were pleasant especially the gentleman who worked late on Sat at the store. 6) People seemed to follow the quiet hours. Here are the negatives 1) Shower curtain in cabin was so filthy it had black mold on it and all of the vents on the floor heater and air conditioner had so much dust and were filthy. Also the dish strainer had mold on if I had to let my dishes dry on towels we brought. For $160.00 per night it should be clean 2) Sometime between 10:30pm on Sat night and 7:00am Sun morning someone tried to break in our car. They broke our door handle but was unable to get in. When we told the guard at the gate the only thing he said was "Oh Really". 3) I was told we were in a pet free unit and were not allowed to bring pets but there was a pet pack front and center in our room. I wish I was told differently we would have loved bringing our dog. read more

So after reading the comments I decided to respond. I stay at Wilderness (Thousand Trails Menifee) a lot. So to address the issues..management has changed. Not to say there's not still problems but they're working to correct them. The park has been cleaned up..the riff raff are gone. You don't see trash laying around anymore and the bathrooms are CLEAN. A lot less flies since the dairy next door closed. When the ponds are stocked (check before buying the permit) fishing is great. There's a couple of child play areas, an inside child's game room, a pickleball court, volley ball, miniature golf, family and adult (free coffee here) lodges, free wifi in the lodge,pay as you go wifi access in the park, an exercise gym, an adult and separate family pool and spa, a small store, small (very small) dog park, a week end cafe, and (now) friendly people. Give it another try (I avoid it in the summer..way to hot). I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more
