Still, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts and I defy anyone to show up here on a warm summer evening when the local soccer club is practicing, the playground is full of tots, the ramada is full of gossiping moms and the many trails than run through here are full of bikes and NOT want to bottle the atmosphere. The entire reason we even went was because of the rescued animals. My only suggestion would be to indicate within all the areas those that are rescues. I suggest arriving in the morning when the park opens since that is when many of the animals get up and are fed breakfast. I also suggest driving through the vehicle part of the park once before parking to see the other attractions unless there is a scheduled show that you're trying to catch -- download their app for a schedule. Note that the audio narration part of their app was a nonstarter for me. None of the audio would load during our visit due to what looked like the files being moved or corrupted. I didn't spend much time troubleshooting it since I was trying to enjoy the drive, but it would have been nice to have some additional information. (I think an app update may have fixed the problem since our visit.) Who doesn't like bears? Definitely park and head to the Grizzly bear exhibit where the siblings play around in a huge enclosure, complete with a pool and waterfall. Also catch the keeper's talk about them to hear their story.

They do warn you the deer can be aggressive- and they aren't kidding. I was the only one in there feeding the deer as we got there at opening and the deer nibble your clothes, nudge you, step on your feet, and follow you if you are carrying food. Once your cup is empty they immediately leave you alone. Later on as more people came I noticed the deer disperse some and seemed slightly less intense. While the highlight is supposed to be feeding the deer- my favorite might have been the talking cockatoo. He's in a window as soon as you exit the gift shop. It started to get pretty busy before we left, I would recommend getting here close to opening to beat the crowd. We will definitely be back when in the area! Also, the gift shop is really nice, one of the nicest I've seen at a place like this. I would go back even just to shop there again.

We went on a Monday 08/25 and we pulled up to a spot that I had been to a few weeks back that the NICE lady camp host let us stay in since there was NOBODY there and it wasn't reserved for that day or even the next. We paid 12 bucks and was able to stay and fish for a few hours. (Thank you nice lady camp host!)... Now the "other" camp host was just the opposite, he was already rude and angry when we go there. He demanded we leave the spot and said "I don't even want to hear it, move you truck!"m "Can you read the sign that says this is not a day area spot" He was yelling at my cousin and I so we were just trying to get back in the truck while he was still yelling.
