This is a beautiful dog-friendly park with a nice walking path. The dog park itself has 2 areas I'm assuming one is for smaller dogs and one is for large dogs with plenty of area to run around and burn off energy. My dogs appreciated the green surroundings after a long day of travel.

Franco about to go on a big adventure!

We travel to a lot of dog parks with out two Labrador retrievers. This one is in an older section of Flagstaff, and after reading the reviews and driving there first hand, we'd say take a pass. The area just gave us an unsafe feeling, and we parked, checked in, and departed. Maybe the town will build a newer dog park to serve other outdoor enthusiasts with pups, or the college crowd? Nonetheless, take your dogs and park here at your own risk.

After reading reviews, because we were traveling, I stayed with the car while my husband took our dog into the park. It is not at all sketchy. It seemed very peaceful and calm with lots of older people walking their dogs in the morning. My husband said the dog park section was excellent and our dog had a wonderful time.It is a beautiful park and we will certainly return.

This is an off-leash dog park located inside Bushmaster Park. To get to the dog park, follow the walking trails to the middle of the park. There are two separate areas for small and large dogs. The large dog area has some picnic tables and agility objects. I gave this dog park two stars because there is a dangerous amount of broken glass and fire ant hills throughout the off-leash area. My dogs played there for about 20 minutes without incident, but use caution if you are going to this dog park.

We found broken glass and cigarette butts all over the place. There should be more maintenance that cleans up this kind of stuff.

My dogs love this dog park. It's so nice to be able to have a place for them to run around freely. They loved the agility course (even if it took them a second to get the hang of it). It has two sections for large and small dogs which is nice since there were 2 large dogs here and my dogs are on the small to medium size so we took them to the small fenced in area until they left. My only concern was the amount of broken glass and cigarette butts we found around in the dirt which isn't safe. The water fountain also didn't work but luckily we had water bottles. We will definitely come back!

Nice clean dog park with plenty of shade. Not as crowded as some of the other parks in the area.

Tons of broken glass and cigarette butts all over the ground. My dog even found a chicken bone. Not a safe place to bring your pups

Stay away! Found lots of broken glass in the dog areas along with pine cones and other sharp debris. My dog is now limping.

I'll limit my rebuttal to this: I saw no broken glass or fire ant hills and dog owners alone do not define the park.

The main attraction really is the mansion so just buy a $18 pass which gives you access to the mansion tour as well as the outside grounds (which is what the $5 pass gives you access to). As for as museum goes, the subject material isn't that interesting: it's about a random wealthy family. Imagine a 100 years into the future we have a museum about a random millionaire. Our tour guide, Marco, was fantastic and great at answering questions for our little group of 4. The mansion really is just a showcase of how a wealthy person's home from the early 1900's. You get a glimpse into their business and personal lives as well as the type of furniture employed in the household. The tour was interactive and nice. The self guided tour is just literally walking around the mansion so there isn't too much to see but it makes for a nice, short walk. Overall, I think that there are more interesting museums out there. But if you're looking for a super quiet museum to browse, this would be the place.

To see the canyon on both sides, the sunny side and the shaded side was a big difference. I do recommend taking your time going up the stairs because you will be out of breath. But it is completely worth it for the views The staff was absolutely wonderful. They even have people walking down the trails. Would totally recommend

There is a visitor center and two trails here. The Rim trail at a pretty even 0.75 miles is great for people who want a stroll that follows the canyon rim (out and back trail). You can see the structures from the rim, but it's even better with binoculars. The Island trail is slightly longer at 1 mi, but a steeper 185 vertical feet into the canyon with a whole bunch of stairs at the beginning, and returns the same way. I guess people get too tired to climb back up since there are numerous signs warning of the steep climb back. The trail begins at the back door exit of the visitor center, which they close at 4 pm (the entire monument closes at 5 pm, so they don't want anyone to start the trail and get locked in). Both trails were great and they had informational signs along the way. I really liked the Island trail since you get up close and personal with the structures. The visitor center was standard - offering a gift shop, bathrooms outside, and information about the history and significance of the area. The ranger staffing the information desk was pretty patient with the group of tourists and determining if they were fit to do the Island trail. It's a totally different vibe from the Grand Canyon, so don't expect huge views.
