Awesome test drive with Genaro Santana, no pressure. Educated my wife and I on a 2026 RAV 4 PHEV…read more No rush test drive on freeway, around hairpin bends and city driving. Felt very comfortable to make an informed choice if the vehicle was right for us. They just did not have the color or XSE model we were looking for. Genaro is a great salesman, he drives over from W.. Sacramento because of the culture and experience here, he could have worked closer at Hanlees in Sacramento or Roseville Toyota. But he chose Thompsons, and they should be lucky to have him and treat him well. Great experience over all, just did not feel any pressure. They also have great snacks, chips, popcorn, hot drinks, sodas, and water.best stocked dealership I have seen. All complimentary. Great place to negotiate a deal. Kevin was friendly too. They do markup vehicles by $2k like bay are dealers who go up to $5k over TSRP. You could look at other dealers who don't like Folsom, Elk Grove, or Davis Toyota for a better deal. Just perhaps not the same experience.

Yes, it's a bit out of the way for me. Yes, it's a smaller dealership than some of the big automall players, and the selection may not be as large as others. All of this is secondary to the integrity, genuine care and fair pricing I've received here every single purchase. First 4Runner in 2001 was easy peasy. 2014 was the same - easy peasy (actually saw it from the road on my way up to see Sammy Hagar at Harrah's) and was in and out without missing a beat, just in the new 4Runner while we left my wife's car at the dealer until Sunday heading home). And when I sold it and needed to get back into another 4Runner in 2017, Thompson Toyota took care of me yet again. Every experience has been straightforward, no-hassle, and I've always gotten exactly the vehicle I wanted. If it isn't on the lot, they simply make a trade to bring it in for you. The "illusion of inventory" really is just that. Nothing but appreciation for my purchase experiences at Thompson Toyota!!!

I went to Town & Country looking for a commuter car. I test drove a vehicle, and Steve, the owner,…read morewent with me. I noticed the fuel light was on, and asked if we should put gas in the car. He informed me that due to insurance reasons, they are unable to put in more than one or two gallons, so if someone steals the car, hopefully they won't get too far. I didn't think too much of it, but it wound up coming back to haunt me in the end. So we went in and did our negotiations. I decided on a 5.39% loan through Schools CU. Steve said Schools gave a 1/2% discount to members who opted for automated payments. This would have brought my interest rate to 4.89%. We had decided on a price of $8,900. Steve wrote up the contract with the wrong price 2 times before he got it right. I didn't think too much of it, but in hindsight, I wish I would have. The safety report state the car needed new tires, 2 new drive belts, and the trunk release needed to be repaired. He told me he could have tires on the next day, which was Monday. As of Wednesday, I still don't have the car, no work has been done at all. We had signed a Due Bill, which is work promised to be performed at time of sale, yet the sale was 4 days ago. I had to go to schools to sign some papers, and I asked them about the 1/2% discount for automatic payments, and they said that that was not their policy, and never had been. I was very surprised, since Steve had told me that they offered that particular discount. When I asked Steve about it later that same day, he told me he was mistaken, and it was a different credit union. I asked him if we could talk about the price then, to make up the difference, and he was very quick to point out that the contract states interest rates may vary. He then stated, he's seen it all before, and he's not going to let me come in and try to re-negotiate anything. In essence, I was really just trying to get a rate that I was under the assumption of getting. Steve told one of his employees, that he needed to give me 100% of his attention because I was pissed off about the deal. I assured him I wasn't pissed off, I was just annoyed with the way things went down, and that I was expecting a different car buying experience from a small town dealership, and that due to some misunderstandings and false information, it was turning out to be a very disappointing one. To top it all off, when I asked him if I could at least expect a full tank of gas (remembering the gas light was on during the test drive). He told me that it was his opinion that the person that drives the car should pay for the gas. I asked if he was serious, and he told me he was. I then said, that I wanted to make sure I would make it to the gas station, he told me that if I didn't he'd help me push it. I am assuming this was a joke, but I didn't find it amusing. I decided to leave his office, with the hopes that my car would be ready tomorrow. When I asked if he could guarantee my car would be ready by the time I got off work, he told me that he can't guarantee anything. The next day the car was finally ready. Steve told me everything was done. I got the keys and drove it home. The gas light came on after a few miles, but I wasn't at all surprised. Then I tried the trunk latch, which it worked, but a couple hours later, it was not functioning again. Overall, my experience was not good with Town and Country. I felt mislead on a couple different issues. None of it was major, but several small items that reflected negatively on my experience. If you decide to go there be sure to fully understand what you are getting yourself into, make sure the interest rate is set in stone, negotiate a full tank of gas, and I would make sure all promised repairs are made before you sign any paperwork. Maybe these suggestions seem like they are common sense precautions, but since this was my first experience purchasing a car from a dealership, I was under the assumption that I could trust the dealer to some extent, and I wouldn't feel mislead at the end of the day.

Had gone to a few dealerships and some private sales. Talked with Sherri, who's had experience selling cars. She said was SO NICE, Genuine, Kind and VERY HELPFUL Offered to email the CarFax to us, a few days before we were set to come see & test-drive the van. We noticed an issue with the air conditioner on our drive. She was going to have the shop behind their location look at to see if it was a quick inexpensive fix, since van was being sold-as-is. Because we weren't familiar with the area, she told us of some lunch places. My husband & I decided on a delicious option, while the maintenance shop looked at the air conditioner. It was an easy fix. We let her know our budget and she did everything to help get us the van, so the final cost didn't exceed the cash we had. She even had to call her boss. HIGHLY RECOMMEND We would DEFINITELY purchase from Sherri and El Dorado Truck & Auto Sales again‼
