I bought a plaque for one of my Usher's who had transition, I called and talked to the daughter she gave me the address to the business, I paid them a visit. I met the daughter explained to her what I wanted to do, and what I wanted on the Plaque, she took the order, but mind you I need the plaque by that Saturday. and it was Tuesday, she explained to me that they normally need a week or two, but she will do it. The customer service by one of the workers (I believe his name is Emilio but not positive) is horrible. I came in and provided a photo of the banner, the man kept telling me that I needed to resize the picture but in reality I didn't not need to. When I tried to explain that he kept going back and forth with me without listening. Luckily momentarily I was provided with another guy to work with. Fast forward to the following 2 days, I received the proof, I asked to change the photo on the banner and he stated that I had to pay another $15 on top of the $15 I had originally paid just to change it. When questioning the extra charge, his response was "I'm not going to argue with you" When finally coming to pick up the banner. I attempted to just pay and not talk to avoid further conversation. He then started arguing with me again after I refused to answer any questions. . Such a horrible experience for a paying customer that paid $235. Would not recommend this place to anyone, the owner is very unprofessional. Doesn't know how to help 1 client at a time. He's all over the place. I have been patronizing Thompson's Trophies for years. So I come to pick up the order. The manager comes out with a bad attitude, ready to bring it to my vehicle. I said, let me check it. I proceed to check the order. Low and Behold. Two Trophy Plates are incorrect. So, he takes them to fix them. Then he tells me the balance. He doesn't have change. I said, due to the inconvenience and me having to wait for them to fix the corrections, can you just take the dollar off. He says, no. Then proceeds to argue with me, couldn't figure out the 81 cents difference, looks at others in the store for validation. Then I explain I have been coming here for years. This is how you treat a customer. His response. I don't care. I have orders that are 19,000. I said, You just lost a customer. His worker brings out the trophy after I waited, opens the door rudely and waits for me to lift the heavy box and bring it to my car. The customer service was horrific. I had to update my review! So I purchased 3 plaques last week, and as I said I purchase plaques from Thompson every year and my organization has been doing business with them for about 20. I, yes ME, lol I messed up the wording and spelling on one of the plaques this was completely my fault I just wasn't paying attention when I rushed through the proofs and I emailed Thompson to tell them I needed a new one and asked for the cost and lead-time on the replacement plaque. Cindy the owners daughter called me (no email) she called and said they'd be happy to remake it for me and even offered a discount on the new plaque! You have no idea how happy I was, since it was my fault I would have to pay out of pocket. This was beyond anything I could have expected or asked for, and they are remaking it in less than their standard lead time! I'm a daddy's girl so I love that the family works together cindy's a sweetie and so is her dad, when picking my plaques up last week I lost my ATM card and needed to pay with check (they don't take personal checks) but he made a onetime exception and took mine. Believe me, I have used Thompson Trophy for the last 25 years! I'm a school principal and every year, I give them a huge trophy order and they have completed it ahead of schedule, even if I'm late giving them my list. Douglas is an experienced businessman, and he knows how to give great customer service. They have never be lax in correcting any errors in the names and they diligently handle special orders. This is a great trophy company, their prices are as low as a gopher hole in Death Valley, and in my opinion, anyone that gives them a negative review must be the friend of a competitor! i order and paid for a name plaque for a friend of mine. she just received this position and i decided to have it made for her as a gift. i ordered it and was told it would ready for pick up on thursday the following week. on friday of the same week i placed my order, i received an email showing the wording on the plaque. the email also stated to review and send it back to them by 4:00 p.m. or my order would be delayed for pick up monday. i was a bit confused. i even got a phone call stating that my order was ready for pick up. i entered the shop and there were two ladies sitting behind their desks. no one ever greeted me. one of the ladies said here for pick up. i said yes. she went and pulled my original paperwork. she went in the back and came back and laid the box on the counter. she then said here is your order. i took the box and opened it to find out that it was not what i ordered and paid for. all she could say was it is not what you ordered. never once did she apologize for their error. just said let me find out when you can pick it up. i work in retail and good customer service is very important. i then told her that i did not have the time to keep running down here. she needed to check to make sure it is right and then call me. i told her that is how you do business. they do good work but the workers need to be trained in dealing with the public in a more professional, personable and compassionate manner. taking responsibility for "your" mistake would have really been nice. also, greet(hello, good morning/afternoon/evening) the guest before asking what they need. stop being so rude. learn and show some manners ( say thank you, good bye and apologize for your mistakes). read more
