This is an over-rated pizza place. We came in around 5:45 pm on Saturday and was told a minimum 40-min wait. Came back after 9 pm and was able to get a rable for three with little wait. We ordered two pizzas (Magherita and Molly's Meatball) to share. The serves them pretty fast even we were told it migHt take a while due to many orders ahead. As you can see from the posted photos, they were slightly burned. They are thin pizza, and tasted kind of soggy. For $15 & $16 price, they are pricy! Not really up to my expectation. That are way inferior to Chicago's deep dish pizza. Not a place that I would recommend or come back for a return visit. read more

I've lived in Ithaca for three years and this is by far my favorite restaurant. While everything I've tried has been amazing, the Diavola is my favorite pizza and has a delicious hot honey drizzle. This is the perfect place for a date night or for bringing parents and family friends - the atmosphere and decorations are so cute inside. You may be in Cornell's beautiful college town, but you'd never know. T&B isn't trying to be a great NYC spot--it is. It's even small & crowded. Any real city cat will be right at home. I got the Caesar salad. My pull-out quote, "It's like healthy crack." Then the Zozzona pasta with a glass or three of Lovely Lilly red. With the owners' grandmother's baklava for dessert. PSA: Start with a round of Kent Lazwells. They'll get you in the mood to be transported to downtown heaven. Want me to be as critical as I can? I would have liked the baklava served warm and I really wanted coffee with it. However, there's no hot beverage service. Maybe when they open T&B II they'll serve coffee/tea to thee. FYI They do have spacious nice outdoor seating but I sat at the bar solo so I was able to nuzzle my way in pretty quick. This was some of the best Italian food I have ever had. We stuffed ourselves silly, three of us, ordered way too many things. All bangers. The pizza was just as it should be, the housemade pastas were good, we had a creamy sauce and a red sauce and they were both incredible. Crowded and loud and friendly inside, warm on a cool February night. One of the best meals I've had in Ithaca in a while and one of the best Italian meals recently as well! We came on a Sunday night and were able to be seated right away even though it was fairly busy. The tricolore salad was fantastic-- really fresh with a great light dressing and topped with parm and crispy shallots. The Colberto pizza was also delicious, I really enjoyed it. We had a delicious pizza dinner here. The building is one we were familiar with having lived in Ithaca many years ago. The interior design provides a cozy environment as their website states. Not a large chain restaurant but a gem from our perspective. Service was friendly and a little hectic once we were seated but I think the waiter was recovering from the earlier rush. I would recommend Thompson and Bleeckler for a casual fun meal. Crayons and white paper on the tables allowed all ages to enjoy being by creative while waiting for their meals. read more

Extremely disappointing. My nephew (who is graduating from Cornell tomorrow) stood in line before the restaurant opened to make sure our party had dinner reservations for tonight. He was told 7:30 pm for our party of 7. We showed up early and were informed that we would now be seated at 8:30 pm because a prior table stayed too long. We walk around for about an hour and return around 8:20 pm to be told that they will not be able to seat us tonight because they close at 9 pm. Mind you, this is graduation weekend. This place does not take reservations on line. They also do not have a maximum time a party can stay at a table for. There was not much of an apology given for our inconvenience. Just very matter of fact on their end. Would have been much more understandable if they said from the beginning, we may not be able to seat you tonight due to the fact that it's a very busy weekend. I'd recommend changing two things ; 1. Take reservations and if guess are late more than 15 minutes, cancel their reservation and seat the next party. 2. Have a maximum amount of time a given party can sit at a table. read more

Pretty good food. We got the feta dip, a pizza, and the truffle Alfredo. My favorite by far was the truffle Alfredo, it's everything anyone could want in an Alfredo (creamy, rich, and full of flavor). The feta dip was not up my alley, it was too salty for my taste (and maybe a bit vinegary??) The pizza was solid, just under seasoned, but I still enjoyed it. Everything tasted very fresh. Food: Spicy feta dip: 9/10 Wasn't actually spicy but still tasted amazing, especially with the cooked bread. Would definitely recommend that you get this! Panzanella: 9/10 Great salad, and the dressing was excellent, adding a tangy flavor. Party On Dude Pizza: 10/10 AMAZING! They were super flexible with what we could take out/add on top. The wood-fired part added a burnt and crispy flavor to the crust, and the cheese was just perfect. Pomodorino Pasta: 8/10 Pretty good but was lacking a bit in flavor. Always a great place to have a nice dinner in a cozy atmosphere. Went on a Wednesday night in a group of 3 and was seated immediately. Ordered the whipped ricotta to start, and there was plenty of leftover ricotta (not stingy with portions at all!). Tried the clam pizza for the first time and was really pleasantly surprised. I love pizza, T&B has pretty good pizza, so why the middling rating? The exposed brick bare tables, cute mismatched plates, a tea light and clip board menus all scream tucked away but delicious Brooklyn neighborhood eatery (ahem, Lucali) The difference is that this is in a heavily trafficked college town, thats teeming with tourists and short on decent pizza. Everything seems fresh and i've been generally happy with my meals What is not great- The tables are SO SMALL- WHY?! 2 people, an app, 2 pizzas, wine, water, 2 side plates - impossible. Prices- Strap in, because even cheesy Garlic Bread is $12, watch prices on full bottles of wine, markups are significant sometimes What's bad- Pacing of meals. Absolutely my favorite restaurant in Ithaca. Thompson and Bleecker never disappoints. The atmosphere is perfect and cozy. The food is always fresh and well made. You have to start your meal off with the Mozzarella. It is so tasty and it melts in your mouth. The meatball and the fungi pizzas are my favorites, but you honestly can't go wrong with any of their pizzas. For pasta I would recommend the truffle Alfredo (so good!). my only critique would be that the tables are to small especially if you have more than two people in your party and you are order several items. I had a great experience at Thompson and Bleeker. Wait staff was very nice, gave us a new table after we asked just once. Restaurant could get cramped, as the seating space is not too big, and you can be sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers. We've enjoyed their pizza for many years -- it's the best in town. We're writing to compliment their thoughtful attention to detail. Yesterday, we ordered online for pick-up, and put the "vegan cheese" option for the "Vodka-Roni" pizza, which was new to us. I'm lactose-intolerant, can't eat a regular pizza. More crucial since the tables barely hold a plate or two. From the amateurish greeter, to the server reaching underneath my arms across the table the training must be poor or indifferent. As for the food, the meatballs came out ice cold, not merely room temp. The pizza crust was good though not properly charred as we found in Naples. The toppings also could stand improvement. We came here for dinner on a Sat night while on vacation in the Finger Lakes. Free street parking is a little tricky but manageable. We arrived around 8p and were told it'd be 30 min. We entertained ourselves at a nearby wine shop and they called us when our table was ready. The restaurant is really tiny and cramped -- we were asked to move so they could bring out a birthday cake. My husband and I both ordered the prosciutto pizza and were very happy with our orders. The pizza was very light and tasted delicious. I would've preferred more prosciutto/less arugula, but it was fine. The one odd thing (which isn't necessarily bad) is that they refill your water glasses every time you take a sip...it was a little annoying to have the server at the table this long. Got a pepperoni pizza and the Rad-dish salad. The salad was delicious! Perfectly dressed and just the right size for two people. The pizza was wonderful if a bit more charred than I would have liked. The servers were attentive and kind. I was surprised how much staff they had for such a small spot but I heard later that they're moving to accommodate more guests. The current spot is cozy, bordering on squished but that wouldn't stop me from coming. Definitely check them out! read more

Stumbled across this sleeper in downtown Ithaca, NY. JUST what we were looking for: small, cozy, almost family Italian pasta/pizza place. Artichoke pasta and Truffle alfredo were great and easily twice what we could eat. Generous. Also had garlic bread which in fact looked like a small-ish pizza!! And all cheesy and bristling with oven-roasted garlic. Yum. Did not show up on browser or yelp when we searched. Then sitting on the pedestrian mall we spotted people streaming in and went to check it out. Find of the week. Need to browse more back in Houston--maybe we will have a similar experience back home. Plus it seems during the summer there are concerts on the pedestrian mall just outside the door. Don't let the lack of exterior glam put you off. High quality food. Enjoy. read more

I spoke to an actual human being and was told I have to order my pizza online. I could not order it with the person standing right in front of me. Did not accommodate kids or gluten free; as they said: they don't really have any options. Most fabulous dinner. The service was great, friendly and fast. The margarita pizza and penne spicy vodka were AMAZING. LIKE BEYOND. Cute and cozy dining area. We loved every bite. Food is for sharing but get ready to fight over the last slice or bit of pasta. We didn't have wine but they had a nice list. Ithaca closes restaurants at 8-830 pm so make sure to show up before but they seated us at 810 and there is no shooing out the door. You can eat leisurely. We were really craving pizza one night and were recommended this place by a friend - may God bless that friend and her recs. They weren't allowing anyone to dine-in that day which is a bummer since the interior looked quite cute, but we were ecstatic to see they were offering takeout as we were heckin hungry.
