You don't find good people like this anymore! These guys are honest and quality plumbers. I called…read moreand they were responsive (same day appointment!). They were not able to fix the issue (apparently our pipe is broken/crushed and we have to dig up the entire foundation to replace the pipe-yay for new houses!) but they were able to diagnosis the issue using a camera. They were wayyyyyy cheaper than the other plumbers we called and are very clearly good people not trying to take advantage of people. They also were very kind and included my 4 year old who asked a million questions and was very engaged and interested in what was going on. I cannot recommend them enough. This is a family owned business that cares about the quality of the work.

Once again, I called them in a panic two days ago because we had a backup on our laundry room floor drain. Keon came late in the day, diagnosed the problem quickly, offered to fix the problem that night (9pm, which they would have finished around midnight) or to come back the next afternoon. We decided on the next afternoon and he called letting us know when he would arrive and then took care of the issue. In the interim, he reached out to WSCC on our behalf to see if they would install something to prevent the issue in the future. Our technicians are always VERY clear and detailed in the estimate of work and then follow through. I have recommended Definitive to numerous neighbors and friends-they are extremely trustworthy!

My water heater stopped making hot water. I called numerous plumbers for quotes and became…read moreincresingly frustrated. Most businesses quoted using the following equation: visit fee + hourly rate + parts. I find this makes it hard to determine what the end cost will actually be. Most other plumbers were not able to send anyone for an assessment or make the repair for four more days (that's four more days of cold showers!). The quote First Class Plumbers provided was a flat rate based on the description of the problem and was an extremely competitive cost. AND they were able to send someone over the same day to make the repairs! The personnel over the phone were courteous and helpful. The plumber was professional and thorough. If I have any other issues, I will give them a call.

I have called a few times to inquire about this but was told each time that the estimate "was coming soon". I called back on the 14th and spoke with someone. After explaining that I was still waiting on something (even a verbal) I was interrupted and with a very condescending frustrated voice told "Mam, we are doing the best we can. We are busy." A simple estimate should not take over a week and the client should never be spoken to in this manner. If you are looking to have something done in a timely manner, unfortunately I cannot recommend this company. Very unprofessional.

She scheduled us within a week for an estimate. Exactly at the scheduled time the owner himself (Donnie) came out and took the time to talk through what we were looking to accomplish, made recommendations and answered our questions, he provided a proposal quickly and his pricing was very reasonable. Before we could book the services we unexpectedly had our baby early, so by the time that we called back it was a few weeks later, but Dwyer was quick to schedule us (one week out) and when the owner and his employees (Jason and Ryan) came out it was he reviewed the work to be done as if we'd discussed it just a day before and not a month prior (we were very impressed). The owner had even researched the county codes related to moving a shower drain for us to clarify our options. The work was done quickly and Jason and Ryan were friendly and polite. We received an invoice in the mail the following week and paid it with Sylvia and there was no additional charge to use a credit card. Highly recommend Dwyer and we'll definitely be using them again!

We have been dealing with the frequent brown water in Bowie and having a local plumber has been wonderful as he immediately knew exactly what filtration system we needed for the sediment. He is thorough and patient with his explanations. We needed a quick turn around time on the estimate for our filtration system to apply for a rebate program and he delivered, and within the week we had our visit, estimate, and now our finished project completed. I was insistent on using James again after we had a tub leak emergency ~2 years back and as first time homeowners were very panicked for a $$$ bill. The service that was provided when we had a leak from our other bathroom by a national chain was expensive and they didn't even resolve the issue! For our tub leak James quickly discovered it was the tub overflow not being connected fully and a small part was needed. He thoroughly checked inside our wall for damage, gave suggestions on drying the area and let us know he was just a phone call away. I had lost track of his contact information but found it again and I'm so glad I did! I don't usually take the time to write reviews unless I've had a really negative experience and want to warn others, but in James' case I wanted to make sure to recommend him and his team for any plumbing project! We will be sure to use their company for all our future needs and have recommended him to several local friends as well. With his company also offering general contracting projects I will definitely be trying that out as well, as our old "flipped" house has a lot of hastily done - likely DIY- by prior home owner upgrades that were not done completely or well (as seen by our tub and shower leaks -.-), and my home needs some knowledgeable contractor help!

On 6/1/2026:…read more Be aware, be careful! North River Plumbing & Gas, LLC. We had an issue with our toilet downstairs, my husband changed the toilet tank parts, it worked, the leak from the bathroom tank stopped. But then, the toilet supply line started a very small leak, he went ahead and bought a new water supply connector, but it did not work, it continued leaking. On Monday, I decided to search online for plumbers, I found this company called: North River Plumbing LLC, located at 1123 MD-3 #305 in Gambrills, we live in Odenton. I called, and left a voice message. A man called Arturo or Arthur called me back, and said, shut the water, the water was already shut because we have 2 bathrooms, it was not an emergency, and I let him know it was not an emergency. But he insisted in coming here that night on 6/1/26. On the phone, we asked him how much was he going to charge, he said he did not know because he needed to see the problem. He came here, in 2 min he "fixed", he had the balls to say, all you need to do is to screw 4x more the nut that connects the supply water connector. Wow, that was easy! He ripped us off, shameless crooked contractor, he charged us $350 and had the courage to say he was giving a discount because the price was $400.

Plumber explained that leak was from water freezing in pipe. He showed us the crack, saying that despite turning off the water for winter, water remained in the pipe and froze.
