I had an eye exam in Nov, 2013 and I still do not have a usable pair of glasses. Dr Giannafore has not been able to give me a prescription that is usable. After 6 pairs of glasses (Using the same prescription) I still cannot see with them. She will not answer my phone calls nor will she return them. Totally unprofessional. Her response--you'll just have to get used to them. I am currently using glasses that I got at Pearle vision, thank heavens! I might add that she kept making the same glasses and drew it out so long that I can't file a claim with Visa. I have never in my 67 years been so disappointed with anyone in my life. I also feel that she took advantage of me because I'm 'elderly' and she thinks I won't fight back. Please, if you want professional care, go somewhere else. read more

I got my eye exam and purchased glasses several years ago from the eye center. I've been very pleased with my glasses. I went by today to have an adjustment made to my glasses and everyone was so great. I highly recommend East Cobb Eye Center to anyone in need of a great optometrist and staff. read more

Don't go there... Very unprofessional. They really don't care about the patients. They will confuse and scare you of glaucoma and other ailments and perform all the tests just to loot the money. I should have read the reviews before going there. I was told that I have glaucoma and they did a few tests and confirmed. They told me that I will be charged $75 copay, which I paid during the visit. They sent a bill of another $200 afterwards. Guess what... I went to another glaucoma specialist, he did all the tests and confirmed no glaucoma, and the power they recommended was inaccurate. I took the third opinion for glaucoma, and the result is same - no glaucoma. It's not only about money, they scared the hell out of me. It is extremely unprofessional and disgrace on medical profession. read more

Here's an update to my negative review... Our appointment was canceled, and our benefits were "reserved" by East Cobb Eye without our being informed. This meant that we could not go to another provider until the benefits were released by East Cobb Eye. The benefits should have been released when the appointment was canceled, especially if no reschedule date was made. Or at the very least, the patient should have been informed. When we discovered this AFTER THE FACT and I called, the receptionist told me "oh, the benefits just fall off after a period of time." By reserving the benefits, this blocks the patient from going to another provider. I called over there 4 days later to have the benefits released, and they told me over the phone "done. It's been done. Your benefits have been released." But it was NOT done. I went to my new provider (the one that didn't close) and even 5 days later, they had to get on the phone with my insurance company for AN HOUR to get the benefits reinstated. In our decades of going to doctors and dealing with insurance, I have NEVER seen this situation of having benefits frozen by a provider. East Cobb Eye simply doesn't care - "it's their policy" and that's that. Well - if you go there, just be aware. You see the owner's response here - argumentative, doesn't care. Well, guess what - this patient cares, and this patient and her entire family are taking their business elsewhere. read more

Do not go here if you have any problems with contacts. They do not fit you for contacts. In other words, you do not have the option of trying out a particular brand or prescription before purchase. Once you have purchased your contacts, if you have any difficulty, you cannot return the contacts or have a follow up appointment to assess the problem and find the right prescription or brand. Last summer, they changed my prescription and when I inquired as to whether or not I could try the new prescription before purchasing they said, "Trust me, you'll like these." I purchased the contacts, waited several weeks for them to come in, picked them up and tried them. I could not read at all. The prescription was obviously wrong. When I called to get a follow up appointment to see if anything could be done they brushed me off. After several phone calls and attempting to speak the doctor who would not return my calls, I gave up and went to a different eye doctor. He was able to find the right prescription for me (which was very close to my original prescription before East Cobb Eye Center decided to change it) and I am very happy with my doctor and contacts. read more

If I could give them zero stars I would. Horrible customer service. Horrible staff. The doctor looks like a stripper who just walked out of the club. The staff were rude and extremely unhelpful. They charge twice as much as any other eye company. One box cost $85, where I could buy from costco the exact box for $44. They offered a 30% re-stocking fee then decided they no longer would offer it and would not cancel my order. SO I'm paying twice as much for contacts than I should. I had the most aweful experience with Dr. Carrie Hughes. She was testing my son for glaucoma and he fainted. She had not warned us that anything would happen. As I held my son, I told her it would have been good for her to let us know what could happen beforehand. She raised her voice and yelled "It was not her fault. We are done." and she left the room. It tooks several minutes for my son to feel well enough to walk. She is an ANIMAL. read more

Well my opinion is if the front desk can't get it together then it's time for another DR. There are plenty out there. They work with a bla attitude. No sense of urgency. Forgetful. I deal with eye pain from shingles and migraines as well. I've spent thousands there and I am seeing specialists now. If you have medical issues I don't recommend. After paying for my visit and deciding against the $500 glasses I asked for my 2 scripts - near and distance. After asking reception 3 times the doctor came out and not only gave me grief for asking but complained I had "wasted her time". Remember..I paid for this visit. I have been coming here nearly 10 years. They have treated both my kids and myself and have been nothing but professional. You can not get better care or a better Doctor! My first experience there was very positive, and I gave a positive review the first time as a result. I just talked with an extremely rude person on the phone there. I need to have additional testing done and called to make an appointment, and they don't do this test on Saturdays. I work full-time and cannot get away any time soon to get the test done during the work week. I let the girl know the situation, and she said, "Well, the Dr. has a life, too, so..." So, I will pick up my new glasses that I already paid for and will find another optometrist. I work after hours if someone needs me or to get a job done (and I don't get paid extra). Ridiculous. There was more, but I'm not going to write a book. I saw lots of bad reviews but went there because my husband did. Heed the bad reviews. They were right. read more

Probably the worst optometric office in all of Georgia. If you like being belittle and called "retarded" behind your back you will love this place. It is not a family friendly environment whatsoever. So I will never be bringing my daughter back here. It would also be beneficial for anyone who does choose to go here to ask exactly what they are going to be charged for before they go back there. They can get shifty and the visit can end up costing you a lot of money. I believe i read one review that said it is run like a"used car lot" THAT IS NOT AN UNDERSTATEMENT. Trust me if you chose to disregard the bad reviews (and there is A LOT if you do some research) you will realize you made a mistake once you get there. WORST customer experience I have had in years. While the eye exam and office staff were great, the process of buying eye glasses was a train wreck. Poor commnication and listening skills from the sales associate ended with eyeglasses that were not what I wanted or tried to order. The sales associate overcharged me even after I told her my insurance covered that (and I was right) and also never returned my calls - had to call multiple times on multiple occasions just to reach her. Finally talked with the Dr and sales associate together and listened to their justification on why it was my fault. come to find out, the sales associate still didn't know what the problem was until our 5th conversation - no listening skills. Now want me to pay for new lenses due to "my" mistake...I am not the expert here and it was not my mistake. while they claim "exceptional professional service", my experience says just the opposite.
