Good result on the cataract surgery with Dr. Vira. But very disappointed with the afterwards eye prescription from Dr. Ro. He tried twice but wrong each time :-( If you need an accurate eye prescription go to Marietta Ete Clinic or Lenscrafters, Milan are not specialized on that (and they admit it, but they should say it upfront to their patients, not to make them waste time and money). Besides, every time you try to contact Ms. Shreena Patel (director) by email you have to insist many times...disappointing customer service too. read more

The clinical and admin staff at MEC are great! Scheduling was easy. They're also very flexible and do what they can to match patients' needs. They have a welcoming waiting room with free WiFi for patients and families. You can also donate old eyeglasses at this practice. This co is hard up for business since the won't stop calling & texting new customers from referrals. Just become a dr. referred someone doesn't mean they are going to utilize your company. Made an appt with Dr. Ro at MEC's Marietta office due to a bursted blood vessel in my right eye. The office location was easily accessible (ingress/egress) with plenty of parking near the entrance door. The office staff was courteous and welcoming. The technician conducting the preliminary prep exam work was a thorough and clear communicator, showing patience in answering my questions. This was my first experience with Dr. Ro and found him to be personable and professional. Much like the prep exam, Dr. Ro was thorough in both asking and answering questions. Amazing practice. Everyone from the doctors to the nurses and staff were knowledgeable, friendly, professional. I had several problems before going in to Milan Eye. I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. I was also a high myop and had severe astigmatism. Dr. Vira completed both cataract surgeries a week apart, the most recent one was yesterday. I just went for my 1 day post op visit. I'm thrilled to report I'm seeing 20/20 in both eyes! He used a toric lense implant in each eye. I could not be happier. read more

The surgeries were fine but scheduling was terrible. Ist surgery visit they changed time 4 times. 2nd surgery visit they changed time 3 times after promising not to change after the 2nd time slot. No consideration for the driver scheduling needed to take me back from the surgeries. read more

First eye surgery went well at Roswell Rd. Location. The second eye at the Alpharetta location, same surgeon. I had excruciating pain during the procedure. I was told after surgery they second eye often has more discomfort. There is a huge difference between pain and discomfort. Second day eye swollen and sore. Didn't have that with first procedure. Second visit no concern at all. My concern is that other patients do not experience such pain. Please think twice before going to this facility for your safety. read more

Professional clean office. However, after seeing an ophthalmologist there for cataract surgery and a couple other eye surgeries, the physician started canceling my annual eye exams. This occurred the last 3 years and then I would have to wait 2-3 more months for an opening. What I have found out is that the patients are categorized as either high dollar or low dollar makers for the practice. My last year's visit he saw diabetes in my eyes and this year he has cancelled again. I feel discrimination and not quality care for all. read more

Less than 2 weeks before an annual follow up appointment Dr. Desai's office called to reschedule my appointment because "the doctor has decided to change his schedule and is no longer seeing those appointments in the afternoon" was the message I was given. His lack of professionalism & integrity is incredible. This matched with the "you should be fine after the procedure with ibuprofen" that shortly after had my wife calling for his cellphone number to get me a prescription because of the intense pain I was in apparently was foreshadowing of what I could expect in the future. I just want everyone to know this is how they do business. Maybe that's why they only have 2 yelp reviews. This is how this place cares about your eye health. Every interaction I've had with everyone who works here confirms they don't understand we're only blessed with one pair of eyes in a lifetime and they're out to make the most $$$ from them. Back when we requested my father's medical records to be transferred to another doctor they only did it after repeated calls and a month later. Really makes you question where is the medical ethics of this place. ----- Original review: Alright so this both makes me laugh and just shake my head. The folks at Milan Eye Center call my dad and ask to have this yelp review removed. They send a $100 gift card to office depot or staples or some office supply store with a generic apology note. Understand this. The folks here pushed my dad to get emergency eye surgery claiming a retinal tear. Made it sound like his eye membrane was going to detach at moments notice. I even called in to request that they transfer my father's medical records out and send us a copy so we could get a second opinion. They dragged their feet on this simple request for a month and only sent it after a few more calls. At two other and far more professional eye doctor in Lawrenceville and another based in Athens, the doctors have no clue what Desai at Milan is talking about. They even recommend against cataract surgery for the time being and recommend waiting a few years to let it grow out. Dr. Desai at Milan Eye Center on the other hand said he would throw in one free corrective cataract surgery if cataracts came back. Not only irresponsible, but outright immoral. read more

My family physician whom I have all the faith and confidence in recommended this Eye Center. I was sent there specifically to see an and ophthalmologist. That first visit I saw was an optometrist who gave me an eye examination that I did not need since I had one done exactly 2 weeks prior. When I questioned why they said it was the way they did things. I had to pay the co-pay, and my insurance company had to pay for another exam that was not necessary. I requested a copy of my eye examination and the prescription. They told me that would be another $45 charge.. I should've stopped with that clinic then, but I made another appointment to meet the Ophthalmologist for the consultation for what I originally went in for. My second trip back that was accomplish. Then they wanted to do the third appointment to actually have the operation done. Due to coronavirus I elected not to do it. I went to reschedule last week and they told me that I would have to start from scratch and go back in for a consultation before they would let me have the operation that was set to be done before the coronavirus. Since I have to start from scratch, I will go see another eye doctor. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Vira. He is through and shows compassion and concern. He really explains the process and he doesn't rush when you have questions. He makes sure you are okay and understands. I am very pleased with him and I highly recommend him. I had to go to the Cummings office for my laser surgery and one of the staff members that worked with me after surgery was really rude. I was able to speak with Dr. Vira about this and he addressed it. Overall I am pleased with the service I received.
