This review is for the business side of this practice, not the medical side…read more If you are uninsured, DO NOT trust this business. They will overcharge you, make it impossible to get help, then tell you they don't have the power to correct their own mistakes. I have had three appointments with this group (at the Murchison location, for what it's worth) and ALL three were billed incorrectly, adding hundreds to my bill. I have been trying to get these charges adjusted since FEBRUARY and every time I call my doctor's office they say there is nothing they can do. Really? Nothing they can do to fix mistakes they made?? The first mistake was failure to consistently apply a discount. The second two mistakes were outright billed for things that never happened or more expensive versions of the care that was actually delivered. I ended up researching the correct codes and submitting them to billing because their own people were so incompetent. I've tried using the online bill pay portal to contact them because they promise a response in two business days. Never heard back from them! I am consistently directed to call the billing department at Lee Trevino who never ever answers, or to call an office in San Antonio who just directs me back to the practice. I've tried calling at different days and at different times. I drove to the office to speak to someone in person and was told I needed an appointment. How am I supposed to make an appointment if they don't answer phone or email? The receptionist wouldn't let me speak to the billing manager but let me pass on a sticky note full of my corrections. Only some of them were corrected and I haven't been able to speak to anyone since then. I am a self-pay patient, so maybe you get better treatment if you are insured because at least the insurance will fight for you. I ended up skipping the remaining care I needed because I couldn't afford to pay for any more of their made up charges.

Dr. Urrea earned my trust over 10 years ago by talking me OUT of surgery on my right shoulder. Hey, any surgeon who is willing to forego surgery and advise a patient to try an alternative method is trustworthy in my book. Most are quick to cut and you get what you get. With Dr. Luis, you get a great staff (many thanks to Marty, Linda, Vanessa and the office bunch!) a terrific Physician's Assistant (the always attentive and thorough Jennifer) and the peace of mind that whatever he sets out to repair, it's done RIGHT! I was a bit hesitant to do the total knee replacement, simply because of the horror stories from folks who've had them, but once the decision was made to do it, Dr. Luis assured me that he'd do it right. Months after the surgery I feel like a young man again as I'm doing all the things that I like to do without restriction. My job was the one thing I was worried about -- sometimes there are tough physical requirements -- but I feel NO pain and with terrific (tough, but necessary) therapy sessions with Kevin Mark, I've bounced back from both scopes and from the replacement (in my opinion) better than when I walked through the door. Peace of mind is what I have now, and confidence to know that the next step isn't painful. Do yourself a favor and let him get you back to where you want to be. Thanks Dr. Luis and to the staff at EPOSG for helping me get back on track!

After three appointments with three different Orthopedic doctors, I chose Dr. Misenhimer. He's a cordial and patient doctor who explained my cervical degeneration in detail. He is a straight shooter who will slow down and stop what he's doing once he is in the room with you. He will take his time and I felt his assessment to be balanced, honest, and forth coming. Which means it isn't always the easiest to hear. But he's honest. He won't treat smokers, so don't even go there if you smoke. He was able to do for my mom what no other back surgeon has done before, which is to fix her back. he is notorious for being slow to get around to you. You can wait anywhere from 0.5 to 3 hours PAST your appointment time before you will get in to see him. He operates on El Paso Mañana time, so get over it people. It just it what it is. The good side of him, once he is in the room with you, he will spend all the time necessary to answer any and all questions to your satisfaction, hence the reason he runs behind so much. He isn't going to coddle you and make you feel good, but I did not find him blunt in a rude way, just simple and forthcoming in a frank way. Not rude, not to us at least. He earns a 4 star for running late, but the late part is because he spends a lot of time with each patient. Recommended.
