My wife and I came here a couple of times few years ago and again last spring... The food was decent enuf to get us back... Never again. The waitress had no idea what whole belly clams were.. After I made a point to make sure I was getting what I thought. So strips were delivered. Don't expect me to pay top dollar for service that was shockingly uninformed and spotty and slow. The fried food had a rancid oil after taste, i.e. Calimari.. Shrimp tacos. The salad was inedible .. Redolent of mold. If the peel and eat shrimp were from anywhere within 2000 miles of Florida it would shock me... Overpriced craft beer was pee warm when it arrived at the table..everyone one seems to love the wings... Why? Tiny wings, dumped with bottled glop. I don't usually write many reviews but avoid this clip joint... Shame. Not to mention the swarm of mosquitos on the back deck...drove from Ft Pierce to meet family... Incredibly disappointing. My family went to this restaurant on a Saturday night about 9:50pm. The restaurant closes at 11:00pm. We had a server named "Kar". She was the worst server we have ever had!! She complained to other customers that sat right next to us... saying that we came in to eat there too late and she hates customers like us who stroll in so late and order food!!!! We couldn't believe what we were hearing!! She went on to tell them that she stayed up too late the night before and was very hung over. She did not smile the entire evening, literally not one time! She was very very rude and unprofessional to say the least! She was so bad, I left her a $2 tip when she should've gotten $0! I called the manager of the restaurant to kindly let him know about our terrible dining experience that we had that evening and all he did was say oh, she's not usually like that!!! Can you believe it?! This restaurant used to be so much better! If this manager runs his restaurant like this with absolutely no care and concern for the customers, then obviously this restaurant will not survive. He did not offer me, the customer anything in return for our unfortunate bad service, not even an apology for the terrible behavior of his server named "Kar"! Wow haven't this bad a service experience in some time. To start they completely forgot my order somewhere in between it being placed and making its way to the kitchen. The other three people in my party were served and I was left to have to answer the "what did you want again?" question. Poor. My meal did come out about twenty minutes later and I'm sorry it did quite frankly. My rice was undercooked and crunchy, and the veggies were overcooked and soggy. The blackened chicken was ok, but it's really hard to mess up grilling chicken. Even worse was not so much of even an effort to make good on completely screwing it up. Not even an apology. Yuk! We even gave them a second chance. The first time we dined inside and chicken bones were on the floor below our table and the floor was just dirty. We were so tired and hungry as we just arrived from long trip so we decided to stay. The food was bland. We ordered pickup and it got worse. My sons burger was hard as a hockey puck and his onion rings were Not edible they were so hard that they would literally cut his mouth. We came here for a surprise birthday party for a long time friend of ours. All of us sat around the bar and had a happy hour before we made our way to the back. The drinks are cheap and good. The covered outside patio area was nice to enjoy and sit back while enjoying some good food and company. The restaurant was able to sit everyone together and accommodate the group with ease. The nachos were ok for the appetizer we got. I wish the cheese was soft instead of melted hard on the chips. Some places get it right and some don't. The veggie burger I got was huge. Both times that I went the food and service were excellent. They are one of the few places that will cook your fish that you bring in from the fishing charters down the way in riviera beach. The server offered us two sides and a generous amount of lemons and tartar sauce. The wings are also unbelievable and the sauce on them is perfect. The only challenging thing is the parking. Had to wait 20 minutes for a spot and their is limited handicap parking which can make it a challenge. Otherwise, the trip was great! read more

The other reviews do not lie, the chicken wings are amazing. As of late I've been leaning towards sauceless wings, as some establishments drench the wings in sauce and it loses that crispiness, but these wings had a crunch till the very last wing. I ordered the hot and was expecting hot, but it wasn't that hot. More med-hot than anything; but that may just be me as I enjoy spicy food. Now the sauce had this tangy zing that was just amazing. I did order it extra crispy, so I can't really comment on the regular method they use. I also ordered the Shrimp and Scallops combo and it was very good. The deep fried shrimp was amazing but I can't say the same for the scallops. Wish they provided me a different dipping sauce for the scallops than cocktail & tarter, it just didn't work with the scallops in my opinion. Give this place a try, definitely recommend the wings. Was very disappointed and won't be returning. The kitchen staff was not wearing masks. We watched as one left the kitchen talked and touch customers they knew and go back to the kitchen and not wash hands. We observed them touching their noses the touching food. Those wearing masks touching their masks and then touching things. No social distancing in the kitchen and people not wearing masks in that area. No hand washing was observed. The Thirsty Turtle is definitely a very good overall restaurant . My uncle Daniel had a Philly Cheesesteak and he rated it 7/10, it was a little soft and cheesy. (Literally cheesy) My mother had a Mahi Sandwich and rated it 8/10. My poppy had the burger and will have the shits later tonight. My Aunt Leslie thought that her fried oysters were great. I thought that my Coconut Shrimp had to much coconut and i could taste more coconut then shrimp. The wings are incredible. Can't go wrong with that.
