I dropped off a futon cover (it's actually a sofa day bed cover) for drycleaning. The tags also say dryclean only. Well they washed it, with water, and it shrunk to the point of being unusable. I called them about this and they told me it was somehow my fault they wet washed the thing I'd asked them to dry clean. They said things like "YOU were the one that stained it! YOU DID THAT!" which, yea, that's why I brought it to the drycleaner... the person I was on the phone with that, boy sounded exactly like the owner, says to talk to the owner the next day. The owner, boy sounds like the same guy, calls me the next day and tells me the same thing: it's my fault they shrunk it. OK whatever, I dropped this off for drycleaning, the tags say dry clean only and it shrunk after you washed it. So they ask me for the solution and I tell him to replace the cover ($99 plus tax and shipping). I'll give them the one they damaged and its pretty good quality so it could easily be repurposed, but the owner tells me "world market is junk and they only have crap" and they will give me a $50 credit on future cleanings. For context, this is the first time I've been there and they've returned the one thing I dropped off in an unusable state... no I don't want a credit. They've got to replace the thing they damaged. The owner says "then you can see me in court" and hangs up. You'd think that would be enough abuse for one person in one day but I had to call back because their credit card machine wasn't working when I picked up the damaged item. They wrote down ALL my cc information and told me they would charge me later (with the threat of showing up to my house with the police if it didn't go through.. which is an odd concern to have regarding a customer ready to pay....) so I call them back to figure out what's happening there, only to get hung up on 2 more times. It's unfortunate that in these times a small business would force a lawsuit rather than rectify a situation but after such an extreme lack of civility and such a clear request, that will have to be the only option. Do yourself a favor and just take your stuff to be cleaned somewhere else.

However, the last two times I have gone have been a nightmare. Before even seeing the garment I was told that it was take over a week to hem a jumpsuit. This was an outfit I needed sooner than that so I just returned it instead. I recently went in to have a dress altered and before even showing the gentleman the dress, I was told it would be at least two weeks before they could get it done. While that would've been fine because I didn't need the dress right away, the tone and disinterest in my service was already frustrating. I continued to show my dress and explain what I wanted done. Shorten the straps, take in the waist, and hem the length. While I know that is a good amount of work, the dress is not lined and has spaghetti straps, so definitely not the most complicated garment they have had to alter. I was quoted $85 for a dress that I spent $40 on! Absolutely not! Not only was the man rude, but that price seemed a little high. I took my dress to a cleaner In Sycamore instead where the woman was an absolute delight. She had me try the dress on, pinned it until it was perfect, gave me a couple small discounts and then quoted me. For all of the work listed above, I paid $40 and the dress was done in a week, probably could have been sooner if I needed it. When I picked it up the dress looked great, exactly how I hoped it would and they even pressed it for me. V.I.P cleaners made it clear that they did not value my business, they must be far too busy with more important things. I will not be back as I will be visiting my new "place" in Sycamore from now on.

Absolutely horrible.. I took my winter coat to get dry cleaned, I spent a lot of money on it and…read morefigured I'd have a professional clean it since it had faux fur around the hood. When I picked it up he didn't say a word about ruining the fur. I normally trust workers and don't check their work, but this once my gut was telling me to check. I opened the bag in the car and saw that he in fact ruined my jacket. I brought it in and asked him what had happened? He said he would fix it, to just give him a few weeks. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him over a month... when I went to pick up my coat he said it wasn't ready and that he had already removed the fur around the hood so to give him a few more weeks. So I did... another month or so has passed. Now we're going on 3 months, I come in to pick up my coat. The owner tells me again that it's not ready and to come back AFTER summer. At the point I'm pretty upset, I asked to see the coat. He told me that the fur was removed and it was in the back, i told him I didn't care I wanted to see that he was in fact working on it at least. Finally he showed me the coat and the fur was not removed, so that was a LIE. My fiancé was with me at the time and told him we just wanted our money back, coat back, and that we also wanted him to reimburse us for the coat (I literally just bought this coat for the winter season). He offered a $90 credit to the facility, which to me was a slap in the face. My coat was a $600 coat... luckily I snagged it on a good sale yet still paid a good amount for it. We showed him the receipt and just asked for a reimbursement of what I paid for the coat and again reimbursement for the services. He started yelling and moving closer to my fiancé as though he wanted to hit him. I was ready to call the police, which seemed to have made him even more upset. He finally agreed to give us the reimbursement but wanted to keep our ruined coat. I felt very uncomfortable with him keeping it because I didn't want him to "fix" it and try to sell it, I feel more comfortable donating it and knowing someone can potentially benefit from this warm coat. We told him we weren't leaving with out the coat, so he threw it at us and pretty much shoved us out of the facility. This was the absolute worst experience ever. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I hope nobody else has to go through what I did. I've attached before and after pictures. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
