We stumbled upon Third Rail after watching a basketball game at Chase Center, and it ended up being such a gem! The atmosphere was great. It was busy on a Saturday night without feeling overwhelming and the whole place had a really fun relaxed energy to it. The staff was also fantastic and super helpful with all of our questions. We tried an Old Fashioned and the Third Rail cocktail, which was similar to a sour, and both were phenomenal. Seriously some amazing drinks. We didn't get a chance to try any of their jerky this time around, but we'll definitely be back for it!

Such a fun spot - highly recommend! Came in on Saturday before a concert at Chase and it was busy but not so busy that you couldn't find a seat/have a conversation. The bar team is supper attentive and makes great drinks! My husband throughly enjoyed the rail bar shot combo and loved the sriracha beef jerky. They have a good list of cocktails and I really enjoyed the strawberry one. Particular shout out to Regina for all the wonderful drinks but also a very good vodka martini!!! Would come back for event days at Chase or just for fun!

We stopped here for an after-dinner drink and jerky one night. Since it was still pretty early, the bar was only about 1/3 full. Looking through the drink menu, I had to get the Pawloma since proceeds from this cocktail goes towards Muttville Senior Dog Rescue. Our orders were placed at the bar and the drinks were made quickly. Jerky was brought out fast too. The vibe is chill and there were two people and their dog enjoying drinks inside. Wish we had more time to spend there but will just need to venture back sometime in the near future.

Alex & his coworker were absolutely lovely! The jerky was so dang good wow. Had a nice little stop for a beer & it was super chill on a Sunday around 4PM. Would like to come back another time!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded at all. The bartender was friendly and answered all our questions about the drinks. I had the Yuzu Cute and my boyfriend had the Strawberry Blonde. Both drinks were dangerously delicious. They both had a nice fruity citrus taste.

Such a hidden gem!!! We randomly walked in because we wanted to grab drinks before dinner. They offer what they call a rail shot which is a shot, a beer, and a sample of their jerky. For $13 you can't beat this deal!! The jerky was really good. The beer selection is small but features a lot of local breweries. Staff was really chill and friendly. Would definitely come back!!

Small intimate bar in the Dog Patch that offers cocktails, wine and local beer. They also offer a variety of jerky to accompany your drink. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and fast. I like the beer, shot and jerky pairing for $13. A fun pit stop if you're in the area.

Small bar but quite laid back. Very little amount of seats and more standing space. I enjoyed the cocktails a lot (fruity and yummy). Probably a good location if you want to pregame before going to an event at the Chase Center. However, after the game / event, this venue is pretty packed.

Super cute, low-key bar in Dogpatch. Nice place away from the bustle of SOMA. All the cocktails we had were delish, esp the Third Rail.

The escape room is Alice In Wonderland themed and includes three drinks as part of the experience. Arrived on time for our reservation but were held in a waiting room for about 30 min before we could start. Didn't seem like anyone else was doing the escape room but it was also the week of their biz anniversary so maybe they were just super busy. Phoenix led our escape room and was such a delight. Friendly, great banter, helpful throughout the escape. The escape game is split across multiple rooms with a good diversity of puzzles. Don't want to spoil too much here but they were good challenges. Drinks we incorporated throughout and presented like test tubes that were drinkable in a gulp, kind of like a cocktail shot. Personally, I found the first two drinks to be a bit too sweet, but I liked the third, which was coconut forward. The price is definitely a bit more costly. It was $100/person for a party of five. I understand that it was an escape room + the staff + the cocktails. If you max out the party size, it's about $85-ish per person which I think is pretty solid. Still very unique and fun and glad I got to try it

This place has so much going on. It makes it ideal for so many different things. Hot day? Want to bring your doggie?? They have an airy patio and a bunch of cute tables out front. The patio is covered so when it rains, it's also ideal. Feeling bougie? Order some oysters and a glass of one of their fancy cocktails. Handicapp or have kiddos? They got you covered. Need a cool place for a dinner date? There's tables inside. Have a group? Also not a problem. Feeling peckish and just need to get out of the house? Go sit at the bar, order a beer, and watch the game. Make sure to order the thrasher fries with malt vinegar salt and pepper and Dijon and black pepper aïoli. It is truly as delectable as it sounds, and by far my favorite thing there! That being said, I am a french fry aficionado. We also tried the coconut chicken sandwich which I found to be a bit different than a lot of standard fried chicken sandwiches. I did ask for the chili sauce on the side because I don't like it to be too sweet. Boyfriend loved it with the chili sauce. I liked it without. I did order a side of aïoli. Another thing I found really nice was that they use the chicken thigh rather than the breast. Most of the fried chicken sandwiches I've had use the breast and this was a very nice change. The chicken was juicy and the sandwich was super tasty. They offer all sorts of tasty delights, like fish tacos, mochicko chicken bites, mac & cheese with or without bacon and crab! Yum. If I was to make one recommendation, it would be to add another salad to the menu. Your menu offers a wonderful variety of delicious treats that are on the richer and heavier side so having another option for something on the lighter side would be fantastic. The service here was outstanding. We came early on a Tuesday, and the bartender was great. She was very helpful and excellent at her craft. The other staff members were equally friendly and so welcoming. We don't get out as much as we'd like to anymore because we have a little one so it was awesome to go out and be treated with such kindness and great hospitality. This place has an overall great atmosphere, fun vibe, with a super awesome staff. What's not to love?Thank you!!

Started off with their ceviche with local halibut in a tom kha, a spicy and citrus-y sauce. The nori rice cracker was tasty by itself but its crevices weren't the most conducive to holding the fish pieces. The uni amaebi donburi was packed with fresh ikura, uni, and shrimp. I felt that the Korean seaweed wasn't the most appropriate since its inherent salt kinda overpowered the fresh umaminess of the seafood. The shoji burger came with a well-seasoned patty and American cheese, but is served with a 3 cheese fondue skillet. It was tasty because of the gooey cheese. Even with the most coordination and dexterity, it was logistically challenging to eat the burger (especially since they do not serve it with knives) as well as the ceviche/donburi, so I would recommend reconsidering if you're planning a first date or need to impress parents/bosses. For drinks, the kabosu was strong with tequila with a hint of lemongrass and citrus flavors. The noguchii was perfect for those who like smokey drinks! Its strong and intense with a woody smoke every sip. Staff were polite and on top of your social media needs. In addition to the indoor bar/table area, there is a covered outdoor patio with heat lamps and blankets. Would come back for the drinks, probs not again for the food but worth trying!
