    Jodi Picoult Author Talk
    Jacques I.

Gahhhhhhh! Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park is amazing. AMAZING! I can't believe I hadn't ever been before because this is a book lover's paradise. But now that I've discovered this place, I'll be a frequent visitor. I visited Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park because my friends and I bought tickets to see Jodi Picoult and get her new book. I'll admit, I was not looking forward to driving up north after work, having to deal with rush hour traffic. But it was worth it. Not only was the author talk insightful and Jodi was so great to meet, but the bookstore was such a treasure trove to be explored! Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park is located in a small business strip and the bookstore is in the middle of that business strip, where there are eateries and other businesses attached, like a mall. The store is large enough with a fantastic selection of books and gifts, with friendly staff that clearly love books, too. There's also a section where they have discounted books, and the books here are new and used, so prices vary. I definitely left for home with some books that I had my eye on at a good price! For anyone who loves books, Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park is a shop that you cannot miss! Make a day of it by attending one of their many author talks, browse books and then eat at a nearby eatery adjacent to the store. Sounds like the perfect day!

I was here for a literature festival and one of our friends brought me to this place. I was very impressed with this small village that looks like a feel, where you can get everything mostly from coffee, food, books and clothes etc... One stop shop. It's the vibe that makes it more entertaining and captures the attention of a visitor to this place. People are friendly and there's a place or a stage set up where one can perform as well. I'm sure the local musicians must be entertaining the visitors here. I loved the concept of coming to this place even as a single person you will not be alone. This place is okay with pricing and value but one has to remember that after COVID things have become little pricy.

Right off the bat, my favorite stop on Independent Bookstore Day and I would love to visit again. Arrived around noon and the place was packed. There was a long line at Honey Bear Bakery. The food court was already filled with people. The other food court options, nobody really cared about. Not many people went to the first floor which held the library, so people swarmed the second floor, the main entrance floor to either eat, browse for books, or purchase books. You get such a wide selection of books no matter the category you are looking for. Especially manga, which I was surprised by. The books are in good condition despite some of them being used. Didnt encounter one that was wrinkled or torn up. Overall, I will definitely come back. Just wish there was one closer to me!

Third Place is a terrific spot to visit when you're near the north end of Lake Washington. I can't think of a store that is better suited to browsing and seeing what's new. Being outside the Seattle city limits, parking is a breeze (and being in a shopping center with food, hardware, housewares, bakeries, .... you can do lots of things without moving your car) The bookstore is in an expansive, atrium like space, with a variety of food and drink and relaxation options sharing room with the bookshelves and wide aisles. The width of the aisles is particularly nice for me - being able to stand back a bit and crane my neck to look at titles makes browsing much more comfortable. They have a nice section of rarer books, as well as a section of autographed new titles, so there's always something interesting to see here.

Nice gift section filled with cards, games, bookmarks, socks, candles etc

I love this bookstore. It's been a while since I've been there because I moved south. This is in my opinion a perfect bookstore. Lots of books new and used but it doesn't feel like a big box store. We went to an author event to see Ali Hazelwood, it was my first of this type of event. My only issue was that it started at 7 which seemed sort of late since by the time it got over and we got through the signing line it was almost 10pm. There were 3 other authors there and the store didn't order enough of the other authors' books so some people missed out. Overall a great book store, typical book store prices.

For #ThankyouThursday I gotta give it up for Third Place Books. My family and friends have enjoyed so many memories here over the years I'm so glad it's going strong all this time. It's really got a service and space for everything, from quiet areas for lone readers to communal space where you can talk or get work done or even do social dance when they have it! It's my go-to stop for gifts, I love looking at all the beautiful, fun, interesting books and goods, and they wrap everything really nicely any time of year. I'm so thankful that this business is part of the community.

Third Place Books is becoming one of my go-to spots, I love their layout, the fact that coffee is right there, and also how friendly and helpful the staff is. It's such a great place and their variety is so amazing!

I went to Third Place Books in Lake Forest Park recently for an author event and I just have to praise the staff for such a well planned event. The staff was super helpful with telling my friend and I where the event would take place and the line didn't take long to get through (thanks to the three lovely ladies checking tickets and handing out books). The q&a session was great and super entertaining and directions for the meet and greet to follow were super helpful. I've been to another event at a nearby bookstore and it was such a bad experience and I was so pleasantly surprised with how organized Third Place Books was! I will definitely be returning :)

It's what every neighborhood needs, really. Ridgecrest Books is located in the Ridgecrest neighborhood of Shoreline, which isn't huge, but has just what this cozy area needs. Among other businesses, Ridgecrest Books is one of the few businesses on a central street with plenty of street parking. My friends and I visited during the Seattle Independent Bookstore Day, so it was pretty busy in the small bookstore, but was still a welcoming experience. They even had discounted books on racks outside the store, in addition to the collection inside. They don't have the largest book collection here, but it's curated well. I also love that this bookstore is dog friendly! Anytime I'm in the area, I'll definitely stop by and check out what's new at this wonderful, neighborhood bookstore.

I stopped by for the grand opening (3/9/24), had a chance to congratulate one of the owners and sign their guest book. They've been working hard restoring the site. Bright, inviting, lovely bookshelves and custom book ends. Filled with various book titles and subjects. And if applicable, nice corner spot for the kiddos! There are also store merch like onesies, Tshirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, cards, and stickers. It was nice to stop by and get an overview of their offerings. It will be nice to be able to place bookorders in my actual city, in addition to my faves in Seattle and Lake Forest Park. There's ample street parking, located at 165th & 5th near Crest Theater, Cafe Aroma, and Drumlin. Nice retail area growing in Ridgecrest!

I arrived just before 5:00 PM on a Thursday. An older man with purple hair was leaving as I arrived. I was the only customer in the store for the hour or so I was there. The owner was behind the counter and we chatted for most that time. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. if it were close to where I live, I'd make it my hangout. Named after an album by The Fall, it's maybe 20x35 ft, with racks lining three walls and another rack in the middle. I shop for vinyl but I saw some CDs and cassettes. Hex Enduction has the best-curated selection of new records I've encountered, and by "new" I mean not new releases but records that are not previously owned. (There are also some new releases.) It has a big selection of used records, too. I ended up with new copies of the Buzzcocks' Singles Going Steady, Radiohead's OK Computer OKNOTOK, and Nirvana's In Utero, plus a clean-looking used copy of CCR's Cosmo's Factory, all from my running list of must-haves. Impulse buys included Brian Eno's Discreet Music, which I'd had on cassette in the early 80s but had never encountered on vinyl; Out in the Storm, by Waxahatchee; and Moon Beams by the Bill Evans Trio. I added a used copy of Hackney Diamonds, by the Stones, because I remembered enjoying it when it came out, and the price was good. There were many more options for future trips. I'm not a punk/hardcore/metal guy, so I didn't spend time with that part of the inventory, but based on my conversation with the owner, I'd expect that section to be very well-selected. I also didn't spend much time with the books, because that wasn't my focus, but they, like the records, appeared well-curated. I will definitely go back!

This is a small shop located on Lakecity. I often like to seek out smaller record shops that carry off the beat and path selections. Hex Enduction delivers.
