The technician arrived late and then proceeded to overcharge me for the service. Not only that, but after paying a hefty fee, the issue was still not resolved. We had an A/C condensation plate that leaked through our ceiling and all over the house. We tried to go through another company our home warranty company assigned to our claim. That company was horrible.... so my husband called Third Generation! They came out same day, did not oversell us or try to commit us to work that didn't need to be done. They were quick, reliable, honest and so helpful in a stressful situation! I am not happy with this company, I feel like they have taken advantage and am not pleased with their work. They said they would instal our new AC system on Monday, the wrong parts were ordered they said we will be back Wednesday. They were just going to leave us without AC until my mother in law asked them to at least put it back together until the correct piece came. We have an elderly and a baby at home. Then they came back Wednesday and the unit did not cool down our house. It was so hit inside. We called again they sent someone out at 830 which we were thankful for but again he said oh it's just because the systems are crossed he "fixed" it and then said I'll return the next day. Again, the house did not cool down at all the first night. Finally he came the next day like he said he would. Added some stuff and now the house is cool. HOWEVER we got the house inspected and it turns out when they added the new system and put the gas line back on they put the lines on loose, the guy from the state said it's so unsafe so of course we call them and they have not acted with any urgency at all. I am not one to complain but when it comes to danger and service I am not okay with how we have had to contact them so many times. ***Edit from previous *** This is why we chose a small business because of the costumer service, Steve immediately came out and began to work on the problem. Turns out it wasn't what we thought. Thank you for being so quick to address my many concerns. We really appreciate it. If I can chose 0 stars I would. Bunch of rip offs! So disappointed in the behavior of the owners, very unprofessional techs and just outright incompetent. I can't believe instead of fixing the problem they chose to blame the customer, Me. If they couldn't fix my AC they should've just said that! Its one of the worst heat waves ever in Southern California and Ive been without an AC for 3 days and every day one of their techs came out and nothing was fixed. Now today, two techs came out and only made things worst and fixed nothing!! They know its hot and people are vulnerable and they will take advantage of the situation. I have never had business owners repeatedly text me (the customer) rude and inappropriate messages. Its unreal! And for their techs to be awful human beings and mock me and say inappropriate things after I asked them to leave, yes I have proof. My security system recorded their nasty and terrible behavior. I told the owners Rick and Sierra about this and never got an apology. If anything, I got more inappropriate text messages from them. I NEVER want anyone to go through what I did. They went far and above what I would think any company would in getting it working again. YAY! I love them! They are always polite and business like. The service was "Excellent"! They were quick, thorough, and honest - called three other companies and they were the least expensive quote for the initial service call and most courteous!! Sierra, who was super nice, was able to fit me in within 2 days during these scorching hot days of 100+ degrees. They came out, asked a few questions, got to work, and fixed the problem within an hour - no upselling, or gauging pricing, they were Wonderfull!! The owner of this company, Sierra, does not have any business ethics and lacks communication with her employees and clients. The charges are not explained thoroughly from the "get-go" so you need to follow through on your own and ask tons of questions! Installing thermostats is one price, checking the air conditioners is another price, installing filters another charge and so on and so on. $700+ dollars later with a date to come back for maintenance that is not confirmed would be another charge!!! Worst experience in my life. It started with a blower motor replacement, 700.00. Then they informed me that I now needed to upgrade my breaker to 60 amps, so I did, problem still exists, now they want 650.00 to release freon, they said I have too much. Are you kidding me? This unit is less than 10 years old,I assure you no one snuck in and gave me a freon boost in the middle of the night. These people are criminals disguised as repair men. I DON'T RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING, They are the worst decision I've made regarding home repairs and I'm warning anyone who will listen, they will absolutely rob you especially if it's over 90* outside and they figure you're desperate. UPDATE: I went to Lowe's , paid 15.00 for 2 fuses and voila, my air conditioner is working perfectly. What criminals Third Generation is. I'm disabled, my husband is always on the road so I have to depend on companies to help with my home repairs, they should be honest at least and not try to rip off their customers. They tried to get 650.00, I paid 15.00. They should have to go to jail for this behavior, they know it's hot, they know people are desperate, and they know they can cheat you. SAD read more

Had them out for a routine maintenance of our air conditioner. Paid quite a bit of money for it. They didn't complete the service although they said they did. They NEVER checked the primary or secondary lines to our main air conditioner. They didn't check if they were clogged or there was any problem. Yes, there was a leak. Now 3 weeks later it has caused tremendous water damage. 3 weeks ago, it could have dried out on its own with minimal damage if any. Had they completed what we paid for, this would not have happened. We now need to replace part of our wall and ceiling. NOT happy. This could have all been avoided had they done what we paid them for and checked the lines. The owner called me back after 3 phones calls to him and said he was comfortable with his employee NOT completing the inspection and that he had no obligation to check the lines from the main air conditioner. Ask ANY other air conditioning co and they will tell you that it is ALWAYS done. When you call them to set up an appt. they say they check everything to prevent a problem. He said he was "comfortable with the fact that his employee did not check the primary line". That says it all! No responsibility whatsoever. My advice, STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! There are many other reputable companies to use. They didn't complete the maintenance plan we paid over 400.00 for and the owner was fine with that. Technically that would be fraud. Horrible company. Update: we are paying for the repairs out of our pocket. Its not that much, about 1500.00. They refused to give us back the fall/winter prepaid inspection money we gave them. I wouldn't let this company near ANYTHING I have. Who knows if they did any of the inspection? They didn't check the main lines which is on their list. What else didn't they check? We will never know because they cannot be trusted or believed. Total fraud. read more

I had them do an escrow HVAC inspection on a house I am buying. Rick did a very thorough job on the inspection. He was at the house for about two hours and appeared to check just about everything. He was able to give me an immediate estimate of repair costs. He seemed very knowledgable about what he was talking about and did not seem to be inflating the costs or work that needed to be done. The only down side is that my copy of the inspection report is hand written on carbon copy paper which is especially hard to read. I would have preferred a digital report like most inspection companies do. I will definitely give them a call to do the repairs once I close escrow. read more

I had this company come to my home in Palm Springs area, I needed to replace my ac & heating unit. I had 3 other bids from local guys & I was floored by the prices. Rick the owner from 3rd gen. Was at least 30% lower then the other companies & he installed a better unit. I was a little skeptical at first 'cause they're from out of town but, they were on time as scheduled, clean & it looks a piece of art work. They sheet metaled all of the wood where the inside unit goes & up the wall in case of leaks. I would & have recommended them to my friends & neighbors. Thanks guys! read more

Jesse came out and was able to diagnose the problem quickly, which was a loose connection to a motor up in the attic. My office is once again hospitable. In the middle of the worst CA heat wave I can remember, our air conditioner made a loud CLUNK, and would not kick on. I called our trusted plumber (Joe Hinzman of JJ's Plumbing) to see if he knew of a good HVAC contractor who might be able to help us, and he highly recommended Third Generation. I called Sierra at Third Generation and she said a tech could be here within the hour! 45 minutes later, Lonnie arrived and discovered a contactor had gone bad in the condensing unit. 15 minutes later our A/C was up and running! Super pleasant experience. Just bought our house and went through our first heat wave when we realized the units just weren't performing very well. I was envisioning having to purchase new units or being out thousands of dollars in repairs. A neighbor recommended Third Generation because of her great experience, and boy we weren't disappointed. No upsell or crazy warnings of how old the system was. They pumped up the freon, took their time watching and testing the system over a good hour and half and didn't charge and arm and leg. These guys were AMAZING!!! I called them at 8am in the middle of a heat wave and they were at my door at 11:30am! They even had little booties on their feet covering their shoes! I appreciated this VERY much since we do not wear shoes in how home! They were in out very quick. They were efficient in replacing the part that needed it. They even checked my air filters for me! I called this company because they had good reviews.......I scheduled appt for them to look at a problem ac at a rental........they did not show and said they had a commercial client with emergency. I scheduled another appt. for 2 days later and got the same results......no show. It had been really hot here so I understand things happen so I let it go and scheduled another appt........again, no show and no phone call.......waiting for hours at the rental. Since the lady on phone was so nice, I tried one last time (the 4th), went to the rental on sunday, waited 1 12 hours past the scheduled time he was supposed to arrive....he even called and said he was on his way...........again, no show..........WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME .......the only reason I give them any stars at all is the woman who answers phone is very nice, tried to contact owner and techs when they were MIA. read more

Third Generation was the only company that would service a commercial heater/A/C unit that I had on an office trailer. They came out to fix it the first time with no issues after they recharged the system. After that, there were issues with the unit freezing over and they came back out at least 4 other times to try and correct the problem. All without a service charge.
