Being a craft beer fan, this was the first I tried in CR. Had a very nice seasonal IPA. All the others I tried were so-so. Tried it fours times before this review. In as much as I'd like to give this place higher marks, I can't. The service flat out sucks and has been on the decline for sometime now. Have actually walked out of this place more than once because of inattentive servers. So, why do I come back? Because it's within walking distance of my home and I'd just as soon walk rather than get a OWI. Food is marginal, assuming that you actually get someone to wait on you. Can't speak for the craft beers that they brew, I personally can't stand that shit. Pretty much a domestic light beer person. They make decent beer here, but the service is worthless. Ive been in several times over the past few months and I'm surprised if the bartender even acknowledges people who sit at the bar when they arrive. I have never been asked if I'd like to order food after waiting to be asked if I'd like something to drink....hey, guys, you run a freakin brewery. I'm not here to watch the 20+ tv's you see from any spot in the place... Speaking of overkill, there's a small tv at every table sitting where condiments and extra napkins go, so when your server inevitably forgets to bring you a silverware roll you'll have to wait until they poke out from the kitchen to clean up. Ive heard the wings are good but by the time I get a menu in my hands I'm usually too annoyed by the ambivalent servers - all of whom appear to be younger women - to want to spend any more time there eating. If you've read my other reviews you'll find a similar theme. IF YOU WORK THE BAR, ENGAGE WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS. ASK THEM IF THEY'D LIKE A MENU. OFFER SPECIALS. it's not complicated, and biz owners should make sure to drive thus point home with their staff. Slow service and ok food. The third base hefeweizen that I tried was a poor excuse for a hefeweizen. It tasted closer to a light lager and I was extremely disappointed. I then tried a Destihl sour ale which was very unique but tasty. When it came down to ordering food, I had to hail down the bartender (it wasn't very busy and I was visiting at 10:30pm). My bacon cheese fries were decent at best but I did receive a very large portion. Overall I would visit again just to try our their rotational brews. A usual spot for the hard working to go and enjoy a well deserved drink after a long week. You can find me here on Fridays afternoons with said hard workers after the work hour! A solid bar with an impressive selection of beer and drinks. A usual bar like atmosphere with traditional bar-like decor. Their in-house brews are excellent, and it's a place known for their variety of original beers. The Bees Knees and the Golden Hawk are both recommendable. The only food I've tried are the loaded fries, and they were pretty good. This is a complicated review for me, and here's why: I like this place to meet up with old friends. I have liked it for a long time. I have good memories here and run into people I know. It's very convenient. However I have allergies and I had a very bad experience. I asked the waitress what I could have without gluten or dairy and she basically said nothing. I asked if she could turn the BLT into a lettuce wrap, and she wasn't sure. She didn't want to go ask. She offered to bring me a bucket of dressing to read the ingredients instead of ask the kitchen or investigate herself. I decided not to fuss about it, because I hate being that person, but my friends confirmed my suspicion and we're vocal that she was being very rude. At the waitress' suggestion, I ordered nothing while my friends had dinner. That's okay sometimes, better safe than sorry I thought. My friends pointed out that there's chips and salsa, something the waitress didn't care to even scan the menu for. She just wanted to leave. I ordered it, we closed our tabs with her at the end of her shift, put in an order of drinks. My new waiter set down my cider in front of somebody else and set down a coors lite in front of me. I took a sip of what I thought was my cider and realized the error immediately. The poor waiter had just served me what she had written down. He handled it perfectly, not his fault at all. But I still had a pretty severe reaction, and discovered that I now need an inhaler and epipen. I'm going to be sick for at least a week because of the waitress' lack of concern. This could have been much worse and the waitress may never know or care. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Brewmaster burger and their Amber. Both were fabulous! (We hold our beer and food to a high standard in Seattle.) The service made it a 5 though. Good choice of house-beers. I enjoy the Oatmeal Stout and its smooth, creamy, chocolaty. Apps are great. Good piled on cheese fries, and the combo platter is the way to go. Wings and boneless nuggets are good with a good sauce variety. I once got an "off-menu" hot sauce. Nuff to grow hair on your knuckles. I like the Brewmaster burger and is usually what I get and add jalapenos too. Nice decor in main front bar area and lots of TVs and nice bar area. The food is good the staff is fun and good at what they do! There are plenty of Big flat screen tv's to watch what ever you want, plus they have tv's in your booths. Great house made beers! This brewery is doing right! Taking great care in brewing their beer from start to finish and it shows. The "Bees Knees" is a personal favorite. Also be sure to check out their mug club if you like good beer as you get great discounts for a one time price. If you're up for a good time, be sure to check out their dangerous long islands. I really like this place because it's nice without making anyone feel out of place. The food is delicious and their microbrews are always interesting. The only reason I'm not giving this place four stars is because their waitstaff is a bit slow most of the time and seems inexperienced. Don't get me wrong, they have some stellar bartenders but I have yet to go there to eat without wondering where our server is at some point during the meal. They also have a patio out back but it's just some tables inside a fenced off area in the back alley - nothing to write home about. Have been there twice and really enjoy their beer! My fiance and I love the Black Cobra. I tried the wings and went with the waitress recommendation on the sauces. I think it was Red Rocket and Dixie Heat, but def ask them to go over all of them. Really exciting and different then most places. The wings were huge and not "bready" - i loved them. My fiance had the fish sandwich. Great in size and good in flavor. Lots of TVs and TVs at the table is a plus. We'll definitely come back to try some other stuff. read more

Third Base is cozy but not crowded and has the type of atmosphere I love: dimmer lighting with wood fixtures and booths, great food at the right price and friendly and attentive servers who don't smother you or try to rush you out. I have confirmation from my beer-loving bf that their in-house brews are very good. I don't like so many TVs in a bar and Third Base seems to have an appropriate number so that everyone gets to see what they want but it's not the typical "sports bar" atmosphere. Everything I've had here has been really good. Burgers, fish & chips, chicken sandwich (get it with the cajun seasonings and cajun mayo!) salads, appetizers and wings (sweet golden hawk and black cobra are my faves), their third base fries are those super awesome-can't-stop-eating-them-beer-battered perfection. I came here while I was on a business trip based on Yelp reviews. Not very fancy but it's a sports bar. Plenty of TVs. I had the Buffalo Wings and they were very good. Well cooked and not dripping sauce. I like my wings like that. I asked if they could give me all "flats" and they said they couldn't do all flat but could give me "mostly flat". I got 10 wings and 2 drummies. Perfect. I had Black Cobra for my beer and I thought it was good. It would be nice to have more options on the dark beer side. I'll be back when I'm in town. read more

I have to say this is always a sure thing for great food. Great BAR food. Nothing fancy, but everything I have had I have really enjoyed. My favorite is the chicken tenders, or the French dip. The meat on the dip is just mouthwatering. Their beer isn't bad, but isn't "make a special trip" beer. I enjoy the Bees Knees on tap. They occasionally have seasonal or new beers on tap. TV at each booth, but you can ask the waitress to change the channel to anything you'd rather watch. Can get loud in here... All in all, great for an afternoon hanging out with a bud. read more

I've been about four times in the last year. The food really isn't very good. Tried something different each time, and was disappointed each time. For example, the Taco Salad looked good when delivered, then I delved in and found it has some good looking stuff on top of a huge mound of questionable lettuce. The service is indifferent.
