This place is undeniably the best. Both Honest and reliable not to mention very reasonable in price. My car broke down in the middle of the night and needed to be towed. I called Thenumber just by chance to see if I could leave the broken car there. At midnight someone answered the phone and allowed me to drop the car of right then and there. I wrote down what was wrong with the car and what happened and by 9am the next day I had a phone call from Tommy telling me my car was fixed and ready for pick up! I've been coming here for many years and their prices were always reasonable. But today I had the worse experience ever and will never go back again. I came in for brakes and rotor replacement and they had a new guy there today that did the billing. He charged me $750 for parts and labor and tried to push me for an oil change as well. But I told him several times I will do the oil change myself. I've had brakes and rotors changed there many times in the past and paid nowhere close to that amount. My brakes are still making noise too. They just lost my business and I will never recommend anyone to them!!!! read more

Sorry to say we did not have a good experience with these guys. After spending nearly $1500 to have a bunch of work done, the main problem (car pulling left) was not fixed. Very disappointed. Hoping they will make this right. But at this point we are very unsatisfied. read more

I came in for a wheel alignment, didn't have to wait long. They did the job and explained to me that one of the bolts may need to be replaced in the future but did not say anything about how they made it worse than it came in. I pod $125 and took the car on a 1,300 miles trip shortly after. Once on the trip I immediately noticed the car was pulling to the left. When I got home, i noticed the inside of one of the rear tires was heavily worn. This did not exist until I brought the car there. I showed the alignment printout to a certified BMW tech and another alignment shop and they both said the rear toe adjustment was heavily out of whack on one side and the camber was too negative. The car actually came out worse than it came in according to their before and after sheet. I'm now having another shop realign the car. Returning a car in this condition shows whosever did the work is either clueless about what they're doing or irresponsible. It's dangerously bad to drive with these specs and it ruined a brand new tire. Alignments are supposed to be one of those things any mechanic can do but that isn't the case. read more

If you hire rude people you will lose business. I drove in and was greeted by someone shaking their head telling me "can't you see we have a mess over here? Come back later." Guess what? I won't be back. You can treat customers with some manners or you won't have any. Too bad because I had a past good experience here. read more

This is what I expect of an auto mechanic: knowledge, honesty, courtesy, no-upselling, and reasonable prices. This is what I got on my one visit here. I have an auto that I keep in the area and don't use much. The alternator was bad. They replaced it quickly and reasonably. However,when on the lift they discovered my radiator had a bad leak-caused by no using the car much. The radiator was fairly new. Instead of upselling me, Patrick knew that if he added a sealant, it had a good chance of sealing the seam leak and indeed he was right. Most would try to sell a new radiator. Patrick was knowledgeable, always returned calls promptly, and his good diagnostic ability saved me many hundreds. Kudos ! read more

I live in Manhattan ,but when the mechanic I had been using for many years left , I had great difficulty in finding a knowledgeable , fair replacement. My business partner and her husband have lived in Bay Ridge for over 20 years and over the years have had many car issues and therefore qualified as experts in my book. They ALWAYS went to THIRD AVENUE and were NEVER disappointed by Nick and Patrick. So I trek to Bay Ridge , take the R train back to Manhattan and have been rewarded with consistent , knowledgeable service at a fair price. And as we all know , a lot of being an outstanding mechanic , in spite of all the computers , is art. And Patrick and his people NEVER give up . If the original diagnosis isn't quite correct they do what they have to and on their nickel until your car is working properly. They don't want to waste your money and do everything to do the right job as cost efficiently as possible. Also , the communication is excellent. One of the most telling aspects is that they ALWAYS come to the phone even if they are not finished. In those situations it is not unusual to get a call from Patrick at 8pm ,asking if it is too late to call ! An outstanding find and well worth the inconvenience for me to get there. Agree with all the other comments here. Have gone to these folks on numerous occasions and they are the best. Honest, knowledgeable, very accommodating. In the past, I was always a bit leery dealing with mechanics, having little knowledge of cars. Not with these guys. These folks NEVER make you feel that you are asking a stupid question. I would give this place 0 stars if I could because this place ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED ME. I went in for a REGULAR OIL CHANGE, which usually goes for $25-$35 in other places, and this place, without telling me the price when I dropped off my car, billed me $46.08. Because I had an oil change????? This is not even a dealership or a special oil change like Mobile 1. The regular oil change should not have been this expensive and they said I received full service? Because, they changed my engine air filter? Other places do this additional service for $2,$3. $50???? I DON'T THINK SO. THEY RIPPED ME OFF and this shouldn't happen to anyone else. Fair and honest. I recently had work done to my car and they did what was necessary and didn't try to sell me on services I didn't need. I expected my bill to be enormous, but was surprised how reasonable their pricing actually was. I'll definitely rely on then for any future work on my car. read more
