Thinking of stopping yes !!! Do it ! Experience it!! Such a beautiful n wonderful experience for kiddies to explore learn n use there motor skills Along with exploring n learning Out little loved every installation that they had in every single room. I don't think there was a time where she wanted to leave to go from one to the next. Prices is per kiddie N adult They have parties and discounts U can spend all day or just some of the day They also validate some for parking

For a kids science museum, this one is sort of lacking by a lot. As a play place- super fun. I just choose to see it as the latter and not compare it to other major cities science museums for children. The membership is worth it, without one an adult and two kids is about $60. I think the membership would be paid off in two-three visits. We have enjoyed so many of the programs here. Baby bloomers in particular is really when this place shines. It's open earlier for toddlers only. They set up special stations within their already set up rooms and it usually has a fun theme. It is so chill because there's no big kids knocking your little one around. My kids can easily spend half an hour doing Independent play in the water room. There are benches that circle the room and make every spot in the room visible, they provide croc style shoes so theirs don't get wet and aprons. The employees are good at announcing story time and they are usually really fun. They have a pretty strict no food rule- totally fine. Do wish they had a small area where you could do snacks because walking outside on a cold or rainy day is not great. We did attend the gingerbread house workshop today and the kids had a blast. At the heart of it the employees make this place magical.

What a fun time my 3 and 5-year old had! We spent over 2 hrs and didn't even do the water section indoors or outdoors. Very interactive, very educational and very fun. The story time was very engaging. They loved the pretend farm/kitchen the most. It's a bit pricey as you have to pay for adults going in too but totally worth it for the kiddos!

We had the best time here! There were so many rooms including building areas, sciences areas, water play, outdoor play and more. Our favorites were the science room and then Lego room. The kiddos did not want to leave. The staff is kind and helpful. While there wasn't much staff in the different areas, when they were around they cleaned, picked up and helped. Def recommend it as a fun indoor activity to get out of the heat. Even the outdoor area is covered and shady.

We had a great time at the Thinkery! My daughter and I went on a Sunday morning and it was busy, but the museum is quite large so there was plenty to do. My daughter is 1.5 and some of the exhibits are better suited for older children, she still had a blast! There's also a dedicated space upstairs for smaller kiddos so that was nice. There is a parking strucutred locate dbehind the Thinkery where you can park and they will validate your parking which is a nice perk! Tickets are a bit on the higher end, but they offer various discounts and memberships as well.

This was a fun experience. While the building was no where near capacity, there were definitely rooms that should probably have capacities as it felt very crowded at times. Our little one enjoyed the room with building blocks (and Legos), he enjoyed the chicken coop, and loved the water area.

We had so much a great experience at the Thinkery! There are so many things to do and try for the kids, you truly could spend half the day there just wondering around. I love how the setup allows you to try different stations, but come back to it if it was something that you really liked. There is an entry fee, but they do offer free days if cost is an issue. My children love it and can't wait to go back. The play kitchen may have been a crowd favorite or the water station because who doesn't love to make a splash?! Swipe through the photos to see some of the stops!

We got there early on a Saturday for the younger children session 8a-10a and it was a delight. There are soooo many wonderful ways for them to build motor skills, learn life lessons, color, numbers, pretend play and so much more. There are ways to learn for children on ALL levels. An awesome opportunity for your child to develop and meet news friends. Would definitely recommend if you have children aged birth to adults.

A bit of construction going on for a new installation today but we still had an amazing time! There was an artist taking video of some open space for a new art installation which we are SO excited for!

What is the current cost of tickets? I am not keen on signing up/registering Just to see the cost of current entry.

For baby bloomers, I pay $9 per person (including baby). I believe regular admission is more.

Any idea when mask policy will be removed?

March 22 2022

If you take you kids, do you pay for adult tickets too?

Yes. All kids 24+ months and adults are $12.

What age do you think is best for the thinkery?

3-11. They do have areas for babies but to really let them enjoy everything including the outside playscape I would say 3-11. My 11 year old still enjoys coming!

There were a lot of interactive exhibits that kids seemed to love. The museum spans a couple of stories, starting on the upper level, with plenty of colorful and immersive spaces that make for great Instagram photos. It's very hands-on, though, so if germs are a concern, this might not be the best pick. Parking was somewhat limited. There's a small one-level garage and some outdoor parking behind the building. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Admission felt a bit pricey for what you get. It might have been worth it to me if I had children in my group.

Bought mine online and they do sell them at the venue as well. Once inside there are three maybe four flights of stairs (elevator available too) as you start on the top floor then walk back down. The museum provided some interactive picture spots and stuff for kids. The main ball pit with the light show was pretty fun too. Be careful as the shoe covers make it slippery! They do have traction strips, just take large strides. The VR was my favorite thing, with the last part with the bubbles as second. Took me about 50 minutes to go through and again helped spend the day out of the house. I could see if you had kiddos this would be gunner.

We're lucky to have the museums we do here in Austin. I'm originally from Pittsburgh where we have world-renowned museums and this one is just as nice as any of them. Besides, the recent upgrades really make a difference. They've got immersive exhibits, better touchscreens, and the new lighting is incredible. Conveniently located on the UT campus, the 1930s deco architecture is from one of my favorite periods. Every fourth Sunday is HEB Free Day and we have done it a couple of times (including today, 10/25/26). Crowded? Sure. Impossible to navigate? Nope. We had an incredible time exploring! The fourth floor is where there are special/temporary exhibits. "Masters of the Night" is a fantastic display all about bats. I think it runs until next August. The dinosaur gallery is great for kids of all ages. They've got some impressive displays like the Onion Creek Mosasaur, the Pterosaur, and the Tyrannosaur. The museum has an interactive center for smaller kids (think babies-8 years old or so). The Texas Wildlife exhibit is pretty cool too. Guided and self-tours are available. A variety of events and conferences are often held here as well. All-in-all it's a great place to spend time learning about different facets of scientific history. I also like that it's a walkable jaunt to and from our apartment (just about a mile or so each way). Looking forward to our next visit. First thing to note, this museum is located on Camp Mabry, and active military post. A valid picture ID is required to enter. When we arrived at the entrance gate, they had us pull into a parking lot by the Visitor Control Center. They ran a quick background check and then let us go on our way. Even though the Museum operates Tuesday through Sunday and closes at 4 PM, the Visitor Control Center closes at 3 PM. You'll want to go well before 3 PM to enter Camp Mabry. If you're a military or history buff, I think you could spend half a day in here, going through all the exhibits and reading everything. We read at most 5% of the display descriptions and we were there for well over an hour. I feel like almost every major US military conflict was represented from early colonization to the Gulf War. There are more in-depth displays on WWII and the history of conflicts in Texas from the early 1800s to the present. There is a heavy representation of vehicles at the museum including tanks, jeeps, fighter jets, and helicopters. Outside of the museum, there is an alley called Artillery Row that is just lined with tanks and military vehicles. It's one of the most impressive military displays I have seen. Also on display are weapons, equipment, dioramas, and much more. I would highly recommend making a stop at the Texas Military Forces Museum. It was educational, entertaining, and highly memorable.
