I get massages to heal and Gloria definitely dishes those types of massages out. She strong but to the degree that is comfortable to you. The best pain I've ever been in! Trigger point massage gets to the root of the knot and can make me want to scream because oh, man! it can hurt, but Gloria talks you through it with humor and genuine empathy. I have been to 3 other excellent trigger point therapists before Gloria, and I have to say, hands down, she is the best of the best. Her treatment is comprehensive as well as long lasting. I came in with a very stiff and painful neck, shoulder, and arm, and she was able to relieve me of pain in all of those areas. She is not only super duper strong, but also smart in the way she tracks down the points from where the pain is originating. Yes, it definitely is going to hurt when she renders her treatment, but you just have to follow along with her instructions on regulating your breathing to be better able to handle the pain. It is a cathartic experience in the true sense. I am afraid she must have thought me a masochist, for at one point when she was holding a trigger point in my upper back, I started to laugh. I think in that situation of pain, it seemed to me that I only had 2 options, either to cry, or to laugh. It's still and enigma as to why I chose the latter. I drove a long way to see her, and it was totally worth it. I will see her again when I am in such extreme pain that it is out of reach for my neighbourhood trigger point therapist, which, hopefully, won't happen soon. read more

Gloria is a treasure. I met her some years ago and was immediately impressed with her knowledge, personality and strength. I've been really bad about using the foam roller after workouts, so by the time I see her, my muscles are very tight. She's got the strength and technique to loosen me up, to the point I practically cry in pain during the treatments. Hurts so goooood, lol. I tell her my face muscles get a good workout, too, because of all the facial contortions I make. Deep tissue with Gloria means DEEP TISSUE. The CIA could use her to extract enemy secrets. I've seen Gloria a handful of times over the last three months, and even in that short amount of time I've seen AMAZING results. I've had chronic low back pain for eight plus years and have tried more treatments and modalities than I can recall (chiropractic, acupuncture, cortisone injections, cupping, acupressure, all manners of massage, etc etc etc). Gloria provides an EXCEPTIONAL trigger point massage. Do not expect a deep tissue, or sports massage. Her trigger point is painful but I always feel so much better after I go to see Gloria. My muscles ache from too much computer time, exercise soreness, or travel and she always makes my muscles feel better. Her place is clean, smells nice, and well kept, but do not expect a spa setting with scented oils and the sound of humpbacks. Her music choice is good and she varies what she plays each time. Focussing on the music helps me get through the pain of the trigger point but her efforts always help me feel better, leaving with improved range of motion and less pain. I have been trying to get an appointment for 2 weeks now with NO return call. I bought a yelp deal for $75 dollars. I bought this for my son that has been suffering with chronic pain for over two years now. He has been doing research on his own , because doctors have not been able to help him much. It's been a very hard experience. He thought that maybe a trigger point massage could possibly help him, his physical therapist did recommend massages. After checking Yelp and found this place and their five star reviews. I was feeling hopeful. After a few emails and several calls. I have not received any response. I have been working with Gloria now for little over four years. Gloria is very caring and easy to work with. More importantly, Gloria is extremely precise anatomically and very, VERY strong. She has quite a few developers and software folks as clients. She is very experienced in treating that kind of damage and listens carefully to your description of your specific issues. Trigger Point Therapy is not a fluffy spa massage. If you have never had Trigger Point Therapy you should check out some of the descriptions on the web. I've had many different massage therapists over the years and good massage therapists use Trigger Point as part of their technique. However, Gloria is one of the few that are strong enough and precise enough to deliver a two hour pure Trigger Point session. Gloria will not give you a cookie cutter massage, but with TPT the client needs to interact with their therapist while she is treating the trigger points to get the most out of their treatment. Gloria knows what she is doing and beware because she will find your trigger points and loosen those knots. She clearly loves what she does. This is a deep, trigger point massage, not a touchy feeling one - you can have one of those later after your knots are loosened! She follows the knots, one by one, systematically moving to the next one, or next layer of knot. I feel most definitely looser, and taller after her treatment. She will explain what she is doing and how everything connects if you want her too. Breathing and/or laughing through the pain always helps release the knot. Personally, I really like this kind of massage because it really is therapeutic in a directly productive way. Maybe one should call it treatment since trigger point is much like getting a sports massage which in my experience isn't much like a massage either. You'll only know for yourself once you try.
