I stopped in without an appointment to get some relief from sharp shoulder, lower back, and knee pain. The place has a wonderful ambience and everyone is super professional. Nancy was my therapist for a 90 minute Thai Massage Combination session involving walking on my back, deep tissue massage, stretching, and Swedish techniques. She checked in on me constantly, really listened and was so expert in managing pressure that I fell into a deep meditation during the session. Nancy is expert in getting through the knots and her deep pressure was just right for me, completely unlocking the deeper layers and relieving me of pain. I left experiencing a lot less pain, and that relief continued across several days; in fact, the level of pain I was experiencing before I came in has not returned. I also deeply appreciated the kind service and intake process conducted by Jerome. The cup of tea after the session was a really nice touch that complemented the meditative space I entered into. I received an amazing massage and I will return. I think I've found a new therapist. read more

This was the first time I got a Thai massage, and it was the best massage I've ever had! I haven't had a massage in the longest time so this was a beautiful act of self love. It relieved a ton of pressure that was building in my shoulders and back. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend! :) read more

Made an appointment and finally got a massage here today. It was easy to book online and they also accept walk ins if there's availability. The inside reminds me of the massage places I went to in Vietnam/Thailand. The massage beds are separated by curtains. My massage was great. Firm pressure, really got my knots out, I fell asleep during the massage and woke up relaxed. If you're a first time customer you get 10% off. Definitely recommend! I had Aon and she did a great job. read more

I've had many massages throughout my life and this is the best one I've ever had. I've had one at this location and three at the College Blvd location. Every massage has been fantastic. No matter who the massage therapist is, I always feel like a million bucks! Can't wait to go back! read more

I had not had a massage in way too long, so it was badly needed. I called a few minutes after 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday and made a last-minute appointment for as soon as I could get there. I said that I would definitely be there by 6:00; I was marked down for 5:45 in case I arrived early. I opted for the Thai Combination massage. Kris walked on my back and leg muscles, which were incredibly tight. I did not want my massage to end! I was given 10% off the total bill for my first visit. I was also given a loyalty card with a stamp; after 10 paid massages, I will get one for free! My only complaint is that it was not a full 90 minutes - more like 85. That may be because I was still filling out some paperwork at the scheduled start time. This shouldn't have been counted against me, but I can imagine this was not conveyed to Kris, who was likely just basing off the clock rather than a time. The Lakeshore Ave location is just one mile from my new apartment, so it will be easy to come back. read more

Got a deep tissue massage and it feels like I have a whole new back! You're able to customize your message at check in and tell them where on your body like to focus and the intensity of the massage. I prefer a very intense deep tissue, with most places usually still being too gentle, but not here! It was up to par if not better than what I got in Thailand. My masseuse did an incredible job and my neck injury actually feels better after! It's so relaxing here and the bathroom smells amaaazing. Got a 10% discount for my first time. There's also discount when paying cash and going with someone else. I'd budget time for parking in the area is a bit tough. I'll be back! read more

So glad Russamee opened up on Lakeshore Ave. Their Thai Combo massage is amazing. Teddy is incredibly skilled. Massages here feel genuinely therapeutic, been helpful to release neck tension. read more

Gosh, where do I begin? This was my first time here. I made the appointment online for a swedish massage. I chose Mimi as the therapist based on positive reviews. When my massage started, the first thing the therapist asked me is if I wanted her to walk on my back. I said, "no", a little confused since that is not a swedish massage thing (it's a Thai massage thing). The next thing I know she jumps on top of me to straddle me right on a super sensitive upper thigh area and I cry out in pain. I quietly express my discomfort so she gets off immediately and apologizes. She proceeds to give me a pretty terrible massage (I am very experienced with massage therapy). I was pretty disappointed throughout and was glad to get it over with. On my way out, I pass by the other massage "cubicles" (they are supposed to be closed off with curtains) only to see the woman's curtains next to me completely opened exposing her entire cubicle and body laying on the massage table. I was horrified. To top it all off, when I get to the cashier she introduces herself as Mimi. When I ask who my therapist was, she tells me her name was Bonnie. When I told her I explicitly booked Mimi, she answers, "I manage all of our properties, I was busy this morning, I can't be here all the time." Wow! read more

Great experience if you like Thai massage! Pricing is competitive and the ambiance inside is nice! The were receptive to me giving feedback about intensity / pressure. read more

A really great experience at Russamee Thai Massage. The space is clean, calm, and welcoming, and the staff is professional and kind from the moment you walk in. The massage itself was excellent, thoughtful pressure, very attentive to problem areas, and clearly done by someone who really knows what they're doing. I left feeling incredibly relaxed, with my muscles noticeably eased, especially in my shoulders and back. I also slept like a baby that night, which says everything. Pricing is reasonable for the quality, and it's easy to book. This is now one of my go-to spots when I need real relief (not just a light spa massage). Highly recommend if you're looking for a solid, authentic Thai massage in Oakland read more

My boyfriend and I went to Russamee for the first time last month and ever since then, we both have noticed a huge improvement in our back pain and posture! The massage therapists we had were highly skilled and very strong. This will be our new go-to spot for sure! It's also very fairly priced for what they have to offer. The facility is clean, and the atmosphere is super relaxing. Highly recommend this spot! read more

This was my first time getting a proper massage treatment, and Russamee Massage exceeded my expectations. As a former Division I football player and someone who trains 5-6 days a week, I felt like I had earned it--but the experience went beyond just recovery. The massage itself, the customer service, and the relaxing atmosphere all came together to create a full, well-rounded experience that I truly appreciated. I recently moved to Oakland and plan to make this a monthly routine. Hands down the best massage place I've ever been to. read more

First time for a Thai massage and it was a great experience . I've had painful lower back problems for years. I did the 90 minute session and it was transformative . I wasn't really sure what to expect , but I'm truly happy with the results . Great people and environment. I will be back. read more

I halve been here twice and highly recommend it! Easy to get appointments and parking is available in the TJ lot. I get the Thai / deep tissue combo. The massages are very firm and they do a great job personalizing it to work out your kinks. It's more painful than relaxing but that's exactly what I'm looking for. read more

Great massage services. Went here last minute while on vacation for 2 drop ins for the deep tissue massage. Excellent service and price.

I visited Russamee Traditional Thai Massage at their new location on Lake Street, and it was exactly what I needed. I had been dealing with some nagging low back pain from a mix of recent travel and working out. The massage here was incredible and completely resolved my back issues. Whether you're looking to address specific pain or just need a great way to relax, I highly recommend giving this new spot a try. I'll definitely be back! read more

Amazing studio located right on Lakeshore. I found this place on google and with easy online booking made an appointment for the following day. There are two locations so make sure to pay attention to which one you're booking. I heard at least one customer arrive at Lakeshore with an appointment at the other site. They graciously accommodated them. I was welcomed immediately and the woman running the place was really helpful with making suggestions about what spots may help alleviate some tension. The room set up is exactly what I was expecting for Thai massage, but they do offer an array of massage types. My masseuse use the perfect amount of pressure to work out my shoulder kinks. I will absolutely be back. Don't skip the tea at the end, it too was amazing! read more

Ann was the best massage I've ever received. I'll be back soon. Worth every penny. Thanks Ann and Mimi!

First time getting a Thai Massage, was a cool experience, my back feels so much more relaxed now. I really enjoyed the stretching part too, it was unexpected but highly needed. Will be back next month! read more

Fabulous massage. Reminded me of massages I would get in Thailand. Staff is very welcoming and warm. I also love that they use warming pads on the massage table to keep you warm in the winter. Will continue coming back! read more

I am 68 and have lived around the world for more than a decade, including in Thailand for one year prior, and in every country I have had regular, often weekly massages. The 90-minute professional Thai/Deep Tissue massage with Aon at Russamee Lakeshore in Oakland was the best massage of my life. I will return for the two-hour Combination including herbal treatment next time! read more

The massage was fine, the place is fine. I had some issues, though. First, they have you request a therapist when booking, but apparently don't honor the request. I requested a person from reading in the reviews that she checked in with you along the way. (They say you can ask a question on their website, but they didn't answer after 2 weeks! I wanted to request the owner, but that wasn't an option, so I picked the person I'd read about.) All of the Thai people there were very nice. The Caucasian man at the front desk was rude and unpleasant. I filled out their new person form and requested a strong massage, but I was expecting a woman; a strong massage from a man seems stronger. Due to language barriers, I was not able to communicate my needs (leg injury) or desires. As a result, I was a bit tense and didn't enjoy the massage as much as I hoped. It was too strong and hurt my leg a bit, but I couldn't explain I'd like to start out softer and go strong. Of the 3 Thai folks I spoke with, one spoke English pretty well and communicated with my masseur. Of course I couldn't understand exactly what she said, so I don't know how well she explained my requests. At the end, I was offered tea by the masseur but it never came. I asked the man at the desk when I was checking out what was the name of my masseur and explained that the person I had requested was female. He told me that I had to have put the name "in the notes," that they had a different system. I didn't understand what notes and or how I was supposed to know that when I clicked on a name online. He kept repeating the same thing quite gruffly. It was difficult to get change from him or even an envelope for the tip. Then he offered me a drink, but I decide to forgo the tea rather than wait for him. The weirdest thing was when I got home I saw an email from the place sent 50 minutes after my massage appt and during my massage saying that my appt time and therapist had changed. So weird. This from a place that charges a steep penalty if you don't change or reschedule in advance! I like traditional Thai massage and a strong massage. I had a fabulous massage in Thailand and then later a problematic one due to the language barrier and not being able to explain about my leg issue. (I assumed that she knew what she was doing cause the first masseuse did, but it was bad.) I did not expect a language barrier here in Oakland. I'd like to go back and try again, but I'm afraid. My leg still hurts days later. read more

A Healing Touch That Transforms - Thank You, Mimi! I'm beyond grateful for my 90-minute session with Mimi, the incredible owner of Russamee Thai Massage on Lakeshore Ave. I came in with a painfully strained neck and tightness across my back, and left feeling like a brand new person. Mimi is a true healer. She knew exactly where the tension lived in my body and used just the right combination of deep tissue pressure and Thai-style stretching to release it. Every movement felt intentional--never rushed, always attuned to what my body needed. She stretched out muscles I didn't even realize were sore, and the relief was immediate. The space is clean, peaceful, and welcoming--tucked right in the heart of Lakeshore--but what really sets this place apart is Mimi's deep expertise and calming presence. She's not only gifted, but you can tell she genuinely cares about your wellness. If you're dealing with pain, stress, or just need a reset--go see Mimi. She doesn't just give massages--she works magic! read more

Wonderful Thai massage! Got a combination massage and it was truly fabulous! Great prices as well. Very calming.

First time at Russamee and the Combo Thai 90 min massage was incredible. Teddy was my therapist and his strong pressure and professionalism was amazing. Super easy booking, loyalty rewards, very clean and tidy place that smells great. IMO, much better than Kume, and worth the price. I was massage drunk sipping my tea afterwards. This just might be my go to place from now on. read more

I just discovered my new favorite spot on Lakeshore Avenue: Russamee Traditional Thai Massage is absolute magic! From the moment I walked in, it was clear everything's done with such care -- clean space, calming atmosphere, and incredibly kind and skilled therapists. I usually take a "night herbal cocktail" to help me sleep, but last night? I slept like a baby through the night without taking it once, and I woke up refreshed. The Thai massage + herbal compress I got worked wonders -- deeply relaxing, yet still therapeutic. Can't wait to return. Great service! The experience from beginning to end was amazing. Very friendly staff!

I went here today on a whim because I'd been living with knots in my neck and shoulders for months and was looking to splurge on some relief other than laying on a tennis ball. I got a 90 minute Thai combination massage. It was fantastic. It is sort of an interesting setup compared to other massage places I have gone because there are little curtained off rooms in a row just a bit larger than the massage table. Very gentle lighting and music, smelled wonderful. I am so happy I found this place. It is my first Thai massage. I definitely would like to go back! read more

First time I went to this place. Im looking for a good Thai massage closer to me. My Thai friend recommended this place to me and called them for a last minute appointment and they took me right away. The place is very clean, very friendly staff and very good massage.
