I had two dough pressers made by Dough Pro that need some service. Thermal Control is one of the maintenance contractors with Dough Pro. I called up Thermal Control and made an appointment for the technician to come in at 8:30am. I was told that they will charge $196 for the first hour and $25 for each additional 15 minutes. Also, I confirmed that the timer starts when the job starts and ends when the technician finishes his job.
On the day of the appointment, I was 10 minutes late because I forgot the key, my bad. Here are the problmes that I had:
1. The technician told me that the timer started at 8:30am rather then 8:40am, which was when he started his job.
2. The technician has no experience about fixing Dough Pro machine. So you can image how long will it take for him to figure out what the problems are.
3. I told him the problmes I feel about both machines. From the way he opened the first machine, you can tell right away that he had never touched this type of machine before. I asked him and he admitted. It turned out that the first machine had no problem, just need to add some grease to the gear set. The 2nd one had no major problme either, just need to adjust the gear set so that when you press down, the bar handle will not stay too high. He tried to figure out how he can fixed this problem and I told him to put the covers back. I thought it would take him quite sometime to figure out how to adjsut the gear set and I don't want to continure this. He put back the first one and I remind him to double check the internal connection and he found out that he conected two pins in wrong way.
4. The job ended at 9:43am. He went back to his truck, find out the paperwork package, took them in, filled out the info, such as modle #, phone # etc. and he charged me for $245, i.e. first hour $196 + 30 minutes for $50. So I even had to pay for his paperwork time.
I paid for what he asked for. I told him that I was not happy with the service and I will never ever use this company again. I felt that I paid lots of money to let someone who has no experience to do the exercises.
Next day, I plugged both machine, one worked fine and the 2nd one was not. I think he didnt plug back the pins correctly. I don't want to call this company to argue with them for this. I would rather then find someone else to do come to check it out.
Be very cautious with this company. Avoid it if you can. read more
