Jason is responsive, communicative, efficient, honest, and gives good advice. He arrived after a 12+ hour day before sundown to fix our AC because Mom, in her 90s, was suffering from too much heat. I've had the pleasure of meeting Jason recently for an estimate to fix and/or replace my current system (hvac - heat pump) in one of my condos and I have to say he's probably one of the most honest and experienced person I've worked with. He was prompt and very knowledgeable with his diagnosis of the issue and fortunately he gave me option to repair and not just replace like the other guys who tried so they can make more money. No one wanted to repair an old (20 yrs+) system but I liked the fact that he gave me that option but also educated me on the pros and cons to doing various options. I don't often give 5 stars and in this case I wish there was like 4.5 just because a 5 really means you're absolutely perfect which is so hard to achieve. Highly recommended Cintrolled Air! Called early morning for a last minute service Saturday (8/15/20) as we thought something was wrong with our A/C. Jason called back right away. He kept me updated via text on his arrival. Thankfully he was flexible and was able to come later since we were experiencing a blackout during my appointment time. A little history, this is my parent's house, and the unit is super old, I was expecting the worst. However, after Jason tested everything he mentioned, the unit was working fine, and for being 30 years old, it was doing it's best. He didn't try convincing us to replace right away, but gave us some advice on how to help it run better. We will be using him once we are ready for the full replacement. read more

Connected with Jason and was able to come out earlier than expected and within 15 minutes was able to figure out what the issue was. Narrowed the issue to the board not sending power to the induction motor even though the old board was showing a 3 light blinking error code which indicates a pressure switch error. Had a new board within an hour and swapped it out in 5 minutes and the heater fired up with no issues. Spent 3 weeks with the house 50-55 degrees. Took Jason an hour to get the house to 70. Highly highly recommended. Was transparent with what really needed to be fixed and felt like I could actually trust him. Jason Umbarger rocks! I would use him every time I need work done on my house or any of my clients' homes (I'm a local real estate agent). We did our whole house fan installation with Controlled Air during summer of 2019. Long pending review, but hey, better late than never to appreciate good work! Our experience with Jason was fantastic -- from the the initial reasonable estimate, to post installation support, every bit of detail was completed to our satisfaction. Jason walked us through different fan options, set us up with the right sized fan matching square footage and he incorporated our request for fan types that reduced power consumption, etc. I wanted the fan to be connected to my home automation Z-wave gateway and he was patient enough to work with my attempt to convert the fan controls to Z-wave and in the end, it worked perfect and I couldn't be more happier. Also we wanted to pull the permits from the City and Jason completed the same and stood by his work, and set us up with one of his contractor contacts to add additional gable vents to increase attic ventilation. I had an issue with my furnace not turning on (and the house getting really cold). I posted a question on what the problem might be on our local community website and Jason responded and offered to take a look. He came out and isolated the problem and got the issue resolved. He was very thorough with his troubleshooting and made sure the heater started multiple times before he called it "good". Because it was later in the afternoon when I called Jason, most of the places where he can get a replacement part (a logic board) were about to close or have already closed for the day. Jason could have easily just said "I can't get parts right now, so I'll come back tomorrow". Instead, he kept calling his different contacts and when he finally got a hold of a part, he rushed off to get it so he can fix the heater (so we wouldn't have to spend a night in the cold). He was a great guy to work with with reasonable prices. When I'm ready to replace my aging AC/Furnace, he'll be at the top of my list of people to call! Highly recommend it! PS: Don't let the fact that there are only a few Yelp reviews deter you. I was apprehensive myself when he first responded to my post on the neighborhood website. Highly recommend Jason @ Controlled Air!! I called him up late yesterday and he was here promptly at 10 am for our appointment. He immediately started diagnosing our Furnace since it wasn't functioning properly last few days. After troubleshooting a few different areas of the furnace and immediately came to a conclusion it was a venting issue triggering the furnace to shut down. The last technician couldn't find a problem and told me it was a gas pressure issue and this happens when all the residents in our complex start there heater!!! I was like what???? Ridiculous!!
