And so are the stylists. Hair 2000 is a great salon to go to if you want a modern, funky hair cut. The stylists really know their fashions and are willing to give you whatever hair cut you want. They also do waxing, facials, hand and foot care and many other services. The prices for the wax are pretty high, but that's because they use high quality wax and cloth. The beauticians are all highly certified and trained professionals, so you shouldn't feel weird if you're getting your bikini or face waxed. Trust me, they've seen it all! I like that when you enter Hair 2000 someone immediately greets you and offers you a beverage; coffee, tea or water. I've never been a fan of drinking while getting my hair cut though. It seems like I'd end up drinking a bunch of my own hair. No thanks. If you've got the cash and want the style, Hair 2000 is a great salon to go to. If you don't want to spend all that much on your hair or body, I'd probably suggest something a little less fancy and a little cheaper.

I said I wanted my under hair all back to my natural color, no highlights. I wanted it to be this way so I wouldn't have to touch it moving forward. My plan was only to do 1/2 head of highlights in the future. The "blond specialist" told me I would see the dark. I said YES that is what I want. I told her not once but 3 times I did not want it natural or blended. When I do braid tails I want to see the difference. So she puts my hair in foils and I'm thinking ok she's doing highlights on top and dark low lights on the bottom. NO she was putting highlights on the under parts too and a few lowlights that didn't even go to my ends. Completely dismissed what I asked for and did her own thing. Aswell she put in a 10 developer which DARKENED my blond hair. I didn't get anything close to platinum or what I asked for. Furthermore my haircut was completely uneven. I had so much gold in my hair. She also didn't do the highlights close to my scalp... they were uneven in many parts so of course I would have to come in sooner and spend more. It's a dirty trick some places do. I had an inch of roots by my part. Also the very few lowlights she did she didn't even put in evenly. I have panels and the ends didn't get any of the color. I have spent everyday hating my hair and felt ripped off spending almost $700 on a hair that wasn't close to what I asked for. On top of this they are jacking up product prices a lot. I got R&Co which they added an extra $20 more than the the company sells it for. After a few uses the cap became clogged to I contacted R&Co with a video showing the faulty product. The product is supposed to be a fine mist and as you can see it come out thick and not a mist. The company emailed me back telling me it is their policy that all salons that buy from them must either refund or replace the product and it would be MY choice which I preferred. I contacted Ari & Blair letting them know I contacted the company and what their policy states. I copied and pasted the email. I asked for a refund to be put on my credit card which they have on file. They refused and told me I could come in and get a replacement. I responded with no, I asked for a refund. It also costs me more money to hop in an uber as I do not drive. Again they are very dismissive and do what they want. Since they ignored AGAIN what I requested I decided to contact R&CO and tell them they are not following policy. This bring me to this negative review which I was on the fence about writing but after their dismissive email I decided no this experience is beyond bad. They are over charging, jacking up product prices, don't listen to what you ask and you will pay more than Vancouver prices for awful looking hair. Good thing Calgary has other places and I have already booked somewhere else to fix the awful hair they gave me. To be honest this has to be the worst hair color and cut I have ever had and the most expensive. I'm actually on the fence about contacting bbb about this. I didn't…read moreknow this place existed, it's like a tiny hole in the wall that you don't really notice if you're just walking by. I booked in with Nicole who is a level 2 stylist. I arrived about 5 mins early, was greeted by a few ladies as soon as I walked in the door, everyone seemed super friendly. Nicole was very nice, easy to chat to. One amazing attribute that Nicole has is that she listens. She listened to exactly what I wanted and delivered the best haircut I've had in such a long time. I was getting so fed up with stylists just cutting my hair the way they wanted and not paying attention to what I really wanted. Thank you Nicole! I am so happy with my hair, I will definitely be back :)
