Absolutely horrific. Where do I begin? Please make sure you view my photos & Screen Shots…read more I came in and asked VERY clearly that I wanted platinum blond hair (my hair was already light blond, just had root growth). I said I wanted my under hair all back to my natural color, no highlights. I wanted it to be this way so I wouldn't have to touch it moving forward. My plan was only to do 1/2 head of highlights in the future. The "blond specialist" told me I would see the dark. I said YES that is what I want. I told her not once but 3 times I did not want it natural or blended. When I do braid tails I want to see the difference. So she puts my hair in foils and I'm thinking ok she's doing highlights on top and dark low lights on the bottom. NO she was putting highlights on the under parts too and a few lowlights that didn't even go to my ends. Completely dismissed what I asked for and did her own thing. Aswell she put in a 10 developer which DARKENED my blond hair. I didn't get anything close to platinum or what I asked for. Furthermore my haircut was completely uneven. I had so much gold in my hair. She also didn't do the highlights close to my scalp... they were uneven in many parts so of course I would have to come in sooner and spend more. It's a dirty trick some places do. I had an inch of roots by my part. Also the very few lowlights she did she didn't even put in evenly. I have panels and the ends didn't get any of the color. I have spent everyday hating my hair and felt ripped off spending almost $700 on a hair that wasn't close to what I asked for. On top of this they are jacking up product prices a lot. I got R&Co which they added an extra $20 more than the the company sells it for. After a few uses the cap became clogged to I contacted R&Co with a video showing the faulty product. The product is supposed to be a fine mist and as you can see it come out thick and not a mist. The company emailed me back telling me it is their policy that all salons that buy from them must either refund or replace the product and it would be MY choice which I preferred. I contacted Ari & Blair letting them know I contacted the company and what their policy states. I copied and pasted the email. I asked for a refund to be put on my credit card which they have on file. They refused and told me I could come in and get a replacement. I responded with no, I asked for a refund. It also costs me more money to hop in an uber as I do not drive. Again they are very dismissive and do what they want. Since they ignored AGAIN what I requested I decided to contact R&CO and tell them they are not following policy. This bring me to this negative review which I was on the fence about writing but after their dismissive email I decided no this experience is beyond bad. They are over charging, jacking up product prices, don't listen to what you ask and you will pay more than Vancouver prices for awful looking hair. Good thing Calgary has other places and I have already booked somewhere else to fix the awful hair they gave me. To be honest this has to be the worst hair color and cut I have ever had and the most expensive. I'm actually on the fence about contacting bbb about this. The other negative reviews are very accurate.

And slapped on a shit load of bleach ! I asked for a couple of streaks and she put bleach on my whole head . While she was doing it she was smack talking about the lady who was on vacation saying she wished she never came back . I called about the issue with my hair and was offered to come back in so they can look at it ! Who in their right mind would give you their head again ? I'm not dumb enough . The receptionist and manager called the other location to cancel for me and accommodated me at the Tuscany location. Gary did my hair, and he did a fantastic job! It was obvious that she was a student still learning how to cut hair. You could tell she did not want to do it and was rude and very unprofessional. When she asked me what I wanted I told her that I usually go for a number 2 for the sides and a 5-6 for the top length. She started looking for her supplies in her drawer and couldn't even find her comb and then she said that she only had a number 4 for the top and that's all she was going to be able to do. She did not have the proper supplies!! I said to use her own discretion thinking she was a professional but I promptly realized she didn't even know how to properly hold the sheers to cut the sides or even the trimmer, which I thought would not be difficult to manage. She used the number 4 and it was way too short and since she was holding it wrong (I could feel something weird happening on my hair but could not see it) she made me bold and completely ruined my hair. The sides are uneven, the top is completely bold, the front is too short and I honestly look like someone shaved my head but used different numbers for each side. I did not get her name but she was young, in her twenties, long brown curly hair, glasses and she said she was half Jamaican, half French, which she mentioned because she asked me if I was from Calgary and told her I was but that my parents were from Colombia. I usually don't write reviews like these but I was so horrified that I had to say something. I just cannot believe that they would charge me 37 dollars plus tip for completely ruining my hair prior to an important Christmas event I'm supposed to attend in a few days. The haircut is so bad that I'm actually thinking about not attending this event because I would have to wear a hat. Whatever you do, DO NOT go to this Chatters, the quality is absolutely terrible, the people that run it are unprofessional, not knowledgable at all, they were supposed to have 25% off but was still charged full price. There was no compassion or willingness to fix the issue and compensate me in one way or another, I just paid and left. I just wanted to get out of there and run as fast as I could! I'm going to let the photos I took speak for themselves. And I will most definitely be taking this along with my evidence to the Better Business Bureau to place a formal compliant against this business so they can issue a fine. I'm going to contact my bank and show them the evidence and stop payment on the $42 dollars (including a $4.50 tip) they charged me for a haircut that is going to ruin the rest of the year!

I noticed that one side of my hair was significantly shorter than the other. I pulled the left side down and it came way past my chin. Then I pulled the hair down on the right side and it barely reached my chin. Most stylists take your hair and pull it down towards your chin to make sure both sides are even length. My hair was totally not even. I remember Amanda taking her scissors after my hair was dried and lifting a bunch up here and there and snipping what I thought was chunks out here and there. Quite odd. My haircut is lopsided thank you very much Amanda. I'm not sure if I'll go back again. For the price I paid, I expected a more even cut not one that looks like one side got hacked.

I'm super vain about my hair, so getting it cut is a big deal for me. I was super pleased with Stacey, my stylist, and with the whole salon. First of all, I came in early and they were super polite and talked about getting me in ASAP. I got hooked up with some delicious tea in the small waiting area, enjoying the atmosphere. It was very open concept, chic and open, and it didn't feel crowded at all. Love, love loved how gorgeous the interior was, which is exactly what I want in a salon. Loved getting my hair washed, although I was a little disappointed with the lack of scalp massage :( Stacey asked what I wanted, and totally consulted with me the whole time. She also listened to me chatter along the whole time. I love my one-inch shorter hair (I also like it when people listen to me when I explain that I'm growing my hair out). I adore my new hair cut, and while it wasn't cheap it was definitely worth it. Also, their pricing is comparable to most major salons anyways. And my hair remains wonderful. Perfect.

A…read moregirlfriend and I were headed to Calgary to celebrate my birthday weekend and during our drive we decided we wanted blowouts in order to look our most spectacular for our night on the town. The Ginger Group was the first salon to pop up on Google and the receptionist was happy to get us in that afternoon (which came to a surprise quite frankly, because it was a Saturday, after all). Once we arrived we were kindly greeted and met by our stylists right away. Unfortunately, I forgot the name of the gentleman who tended to my messy locks... but he did have a station right next to another gentleman who, to our excitement, frequently had his bow-tie-wearing weiner dog roam the salon. That was a cute touch. The space itself, was perfect also, with its lofty vibe and industrialized pieces. I, personally love a laid-back environment without the snobbery that comes with certain uptight salons. My girlfriend showed up with her hair drenched in coconut oil from the night before, and was extremely worried about being judged by her stylist due to the fact she too, had worked in a salon with women who were umempathetic toward clients behind their backs. Our stylists were phenomenal. The female who worked on my friend was super understanding about the oil and casually chatted her up about our plans for the evening. As did my stylist. They were both kind, informative, and talented professionals. Our hair looked fabulous the entire night and carried all the way into the following day.
