No frills eatery with great service and great tasting food. The home fries and mushroom and cheese omelette were great!!! T shirts are cheap!!!!!

I've driven by this restaurant many times but have never stopped but at the recommendation of a friend my sister and I tried it. It was Friday at lunch time and a few people were there but not overcrowded. The waitress was very prompt and friendly. I saw a sign on the table the last Friday of the month they had sauerbraten. I asked the waitress about it and she said it was a family recipe and very good. She was right!! The noodles were homemade, the beef was tender and the sauce didn't have too much ginger. The portion was huge so I took 2/3 of it home. I saved room for homemade pie which was fantastic! I have to say it was the best pie I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Don't pass this place up!!! Stop in the last Friday of the month if you like sauerbraten.

I have been coming to this local legend since I was a kid and for 24 years it has not disappointed me! If you go for breakfast, you'll enjoy a nice meal for a decent price. If you go for ICE CREAM...now we're talking!! Thee Diner serves the largest "small ice cream" in upstate New York, no doubt in my mind. You definitely are getting MORE than what you pay for. And the ice cream selection is incredible, they have anything for anybody in your group. Good service, good location, and so many smiles. Enjoy your trip here!!

Standard diner with standard diner food and white board with specials on them. Friendly waitress and regular looking locals all around, but not too busy on a Thursday at lunch time. You get what ordered and I'm happy with that. I will keep on coming back.

I stumbled upon Big Dip when I first moved to the area two years ago, as it's by my chiropractor…read more I'd dubbed it my favorite spot in town, but I think it may have been bested recently by a competitor or two. On my last visit, my milkshake was practically milk and no bueno. I was with my mom during that trip, and she reminded me I also had a bad milkshake there at the end of last season. The problem is that it tends to be busy that bringing it to the attention of an employee means cutting the line...I did reach out via social media and I was told to order milkshakes 'thick' going forward. I went this past Thursday and ordered a vanilla cone with sprinkles. The vanilla was way too soft, and shouldn't have been served. I think that might have been the issues with the milkshakes-- the ice cream isn't actually the way it should be. My mom's chocolate peanut butter cone was fine, however. With prices being what they are and my last 3 to 4 trips having been underwhelming/super disappointing, I think it is time for me to move on from the Big Dip.

They get real mad when you get up there and try to lick it. They say it's no real ice cream but I know that's not true! I came in the middle of the night with a ladder, climbed up and started munching that ice cream before the police intervened. It's real ice cream! Real delicious ice cream! I don't know how they keep it from melting up there, but whatever they are doing it's working. Once a year I think they should let some lucky person eat the big giant ice cream on the roof.

I love homemade hard ice cream and this was from Gillian's in Oneida. I've had their ice cream before and know it's top notch. I chose a maple walnut on a waffle cone and my husband 1 scoop of strawberry and a scoop of coconut almond. Mine was delicious and the cone was crispy and fresh and actually one of the best I've ever had. My only minor complaint is that I had zero walnuts in my ice cream! That could have just been because it was the bottom of the tub??? The flavor of the maple was excellent. My husband loved his flavors but said he liked the strawberry best. They had seating outside.

Situated just outside of Cazenovia on Route…read more20, the Nelson Creamery is an unassuming ice cream spot that opened a few years ago and has quickly become a go-to when I'm in the area. Their prices are reasonable and the serving sizes generous. The "Creamery" part of their name is exemplified in their soft serve. It is creamy, thick, and doesn't melt right away like other ice creams might. I've tried the soft serve, hard flavors, and their version of a flurry/blizzard/etc. and can recommend all. A cool fact about the Creamery: it was opened by the local Masonic Lodge and their goal is to use profits to give back to the community. Very cool. Not much else to say here. Head to Cazenovia to check out the lake, have dinner at one of the great local restaurants, and finish up with dessert at the Nelson Creamery.
