I've been to several local baby stores, and this one easily stands out as the best. The store is bright, welcoming, and well-organized. Every single staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We came specifically to check out strollers because we were overwhelmed with online reviews and needed to see them in person. The team here was amazing -- they patiently walked us through each option and gave clear demonstrations. What really stood out was that they allowed us to take the strollers outside for a real test run, complete with a demo baby. All we had to do was provide our IDs. This made a huge difference since testing a stroller on the sidewalk feels totally different than just pushing it around indoors. They have a great selection of strollers and car seats. I do wish there were more budget-friendly options, but overall, we had a fantastic experience and truly appreciated the staff's kindness and support!

They provided expert consultation on everything from strollers, to car seats, carriers, and recliners. They helped us gain clarity on what we really need for these more expensive items and how we can plan for the long run. We felt no pressure to buy right then and there, in fact, they helped us conceptualize how to save a lot of money. We will be making every effort to buy many items through this amazing store, plus taking them on their offer to help with car seat installation. Seriously, these people are amazing and so incredibly kind and knowledgable, so grateful and happy we went in!

And then…read moremade the trip up from Eugene with mom and baby in tow instead of talking myself out of it! The woman who was at the store--the owner, I think, based on our conversation--was friendly and super helpful. She knows her merchandise inside and out. She carries clothing here that I've never seen before at the children's stores I usually visit in the Chicago area (I've already told the owner of one of them that she needs to look into these brands!). I really appreciated that she explained the sizing system since I was a bit perplexed at first (maybe she saw my confusion)--since some are brands based in other countries, they're sized by centimeter but the American sizing equivalent is on the back of the tag (though can we talk about that cm/in sizing system for a moment, because it would make my life infinitely easier when trying to buy kid clothes....) Almost the moment I walked into the shop I zeroed in on this adooooorable pantsuit for my daughter, and a darling dress. I'm buying a little larger for her since she's a high percentile child and I'm looking forward to seeing her in these when she's big enough to wear them. They also sell local goods--I bought a Portland-themed t-shirt for the babe. I asked about a local shoe company I'd heard of that listed BW as a retailer and though they don't carry that brand any longer, she showed me a different local brand they carry called Ozznek (which has super cool shoes with removable soles!!) and I bought two pair for my little. This lovely little store was worth the visit; I will definitely return and I'm keeping an eye on their socials. I think they ship as well so between that and stopping in when I'm home visiting my mom I can keep my babe in cool duds. Parking is on the street, and it was easy for me in late morning/early afternoon on a Thursday, but I'm not sure if they have any parking lots or garages for visitors to Portland's Boise neighborhood.

In addition to clothes, they have books, toys, shoes, and even some movie DVDs. The tiny store is well organized. They are picky with what they accept, which is why buyers may be happier and give higher ratings than those looking to consign.

Recently, the customer experience has shifted in a way that feels noticeably less accommodating and more rigid. On one visit, I arrived just a few minutes past the posted consignment drop-off time--with a large bag of items--and was turned away without any flexibility. As a mom juggling kids and schedules, that kind of all-or-nothing response felt unnecessarily inflexible and not very aligned with the realities of the customers they serve. There was also a separate incident involving an item that was handled in a way that felt lacking in communication and follow-through, which added to the overall frustration. As someone who works in sales and customer service, I fully understand the importance of policies--but also the importance of discretion, tone, and making customers feel valued. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my recent experience. I hope there's a return to the more customer-focused experience this store used to provide.

Firstly the quality of splendid is unparalleled particularly when it comes to their soft cosy knit sweaters made with the finest materials such as wool and cotton. I have purchased two beanies and four sweaters as well as one 100% cotton knit blanket from this boutique and each item has become an instant favorite for me. This boutique in particular features some of the deepest discounts of any splendid brand clothing I have ever seen and the customer service is exceptional here. I will definitely keep coming back not only for their clothing but also for the kind, caring and very helpful employees who staff the store. Thank you for always helping me get exactly what I want and working with very reasonable prices. 10/10 would recommend.

Yikes! Seriously? $85.00 for a little baby/infant sweater?! Much of the clothing was reminiscent of things that you can find at H&M or Old Navy. In other words, rather nondescript and cheap. The fabric felt so-so, the construction of the garments was rather like over-sized, sloppy flash dance shirts. "What a feeling" Indeed. And the price to pay for you 80's look? $79.00. Ouch. I am not feeling that. Splendid is just too ordinary to throw the word "Splendid" around.

The prices are in the high side, especially for Portland, but a cashmere cardigan for $400 is the going rate. The boutique is bright, clean and has an industrial vibe. It's easy to browse through the racks of clothing which line the parameter on racks in a color coordinated fashion. The cashmere dresses are scrumptious! Beautiful in color, texture and style; refined elegance, classic, timeless. Even cashmere loungewear, perfect for staying comfy and warm during these long days spent at home. Kayla, the young woman working that day, was super helpful and pleasant. She easily engages in conversation and provides assistance, if that is your mode of shopping. And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months. In addition to the clothing, they have a small selection of unique jewelry and other accessories like boots, tassels to add to your handbags, hats, belts and scarves. Even a small but unique selection of home decor items like textured throws, pillows, candles, woven baskets and trays, perfume and vases.p to adorn your home. Located on NW 11th in The Pearl District, it's around the corner from the main shopping area so unless you know it's there, you may not stumble upon it. It's worth seeking out if you want to add quality clothing to your wardrobe that you can wear season after season. And while you are there, definitely check out the jewelry, boots and the Oliveve handbags!

There really is not that much to choose from as the theme here is obviously minimalist. The few things they do have are lovely and for me, priced completely unreasonably. Like I am going to spend almost $1000 on a wool trench coat with some leather trim? Sure, it's a sharp looking coat. But good God, I know we are in the Pearl but is anyone going to spend that much? Maybe I am just not hip with the times and people really do spend that kind of money on a random coat, if so, I beg your pardon. It would be cool if your shop had goods that "normal" people like me, I know I am throwing the term normal around quite loosely but folks probably get my gist. My budget for a really nice and very unique coat is more like $500.00 Unless you are selling Versace or something, consider rethinking your price points.
