Wow. Just wow.

This store has a little of everything and a whole lot of quirky! Antique dishes, trays and pedestal plates contain collections of random items like: vintage doll arms and legs, David Bowie head shots on a button, butterfly patches, individual tarot cards, felted small animals, and colored rhinestone hair pins. This is mingled with vintage clutches in every color;some with amazing handles, vintage drinking glasses, a variety of individual tarot cards, bath soaps, perfumes, vintage jeans and dresses, vintage coats with fur collars, and furniture. Surprisingly it works! It's a purposely curated store of new and vintage treasures, most with a touch of quirkiness that will bring joy and personality to your wardrobe, your house or to a friend receiving the gift. It's the type of store you get lost in, where time goes by quickly and yet you are still making your way past the front section. Some items you pass quickly; others soak to you and you have to linger. Since Flutter is designed and curated with this intent, the people working there let you browse and wander and ponder at your leisure. If you are on N. Mississippi this is a must visit shop! You never know what you will find and what you absolutely need to have, and that's the beauty and the fun of it!

I loved this shop. It has so much to look at and it's easy to just get lost in examining every little detail and trinket that they put together. I picked through all the tables and shelves checking out the eclectic mix of jewelry, collectibles, and random odds and ends. Definitely a fun little store to browse through and maybe pick up a couple of souvenirs to take home from your trip to Portland.

Exciting store lots of cool items and a very cool collection of vinyl . Postcards gifts and some cool threads make it a fun well rounded shop.

I got the cutest rings from this store! 3 rings for $28. Every piece in here was so fun and unique. There was so much character and charm to each item in the store. I would 100% go back!

Holiday party! People in fabulous costumes and electic attire! Champagne! And the Djangophiles were playing their wonderful acoustic Parisian swing... the sort of glamorous party that I never got invited to, but dreamed of -- and we got to go in! Our hostess, the business owner, Cindy, welcomed us, served us champagne, and enthused about her goodies. Great goodies! Interesting goodies! Kooky books and nostalgic toys and memorabilia, fabulously recycled fabric arts and sparkly bling, and the nicest collection of GOOD smells in bottles I've ever encountered (I don't wear scents, as a general rule -- most of them are strong and stinky, and unnatural). I bought THREE bottles of perfume. Most I've bought at once ever. And a book. For my aunt, I swear. And had to be dragged away from all the shiny, happy things in every nook and cranny by my poor tired hubby, who was shopped out half an hour into the expedition (not normally a problem, as I don't generally LIKE shopping). So much eye candy... it was like the monkey trap for me. And any place with a shop-cat named Rizzo is OK by me.

This is probably my favorite shop in all of Portland- it's a delightful mix of vintage/found items, new merchandise, and a grey shopkitty to boot! It kind of feels like you've entered the home of a very cool witchy woman who has a keen eye for decorative items, perfumes, tarot cards, vintage slips and dresses, art books, creepy dolls, beeswax candles, costume jewelry...This is the first place I would stop for a one-of-a-kind birthday bauble or thoughtful piece of home decor. Prices are very reasonable as well, I purchased a made in Oregon beeswax candle, two tarot cards, and a vintage black lace slip for $20 total. While some stores aim to be painfully hip yet decidedly uninteresting or inaccessible, Flutter manages to be cool and carefully edited without the pretense. It's classic Portland in the sense that it's effortlessly unique and not afraid to be a bit different. Whimsy done well! There are several other interesting shops (and tea!) along this stretch of Mississippi Avenue, I recommend spending an afternoon in this area- great to show out of town guests too.

My new favorite store in Portland. Unique, weird, magical. I especially love the variety of modern day treasures and vintage collectibles. So many random pieces you could turn into art. Will make it a "must stop" at every Portland trip!

I went here looking for clothing, and I walked out with a treasure trove of finds. I love, love, love the glitter letters and quirky buttons, plus the awesome cards.

A fabulous boutique like one you would find in NYC or San Francisco, not typically in Portland…read more The clothing and accessories are carefully curated, bringing together a refined collection of high quality items in shades of black, cream, gray, camel and white. The prices are in the high side, especially for Portland, but a cashmere cardigan for $400 is the going rate. The boutique is bright, clean and has an industrial vibe. It's easy to browse through the racks of clothing which line the parameter on racks in a color coordinated fashion. The cashmere dresses are scrumptious! Beautiful in color, texture and style; refined elegance, classic, timeless. Even cashmere loungewear, perfect for staying comfy and warm during these long days spent at home. Kayla, the young woman working that day, was super helpful and pleasant. She easily engages in conversation and provides assistance, if that is your mode of shopping. And also gives one the freedom to browse at their leisure with no pressure to purchase, which is my preference. We visited on MLK Day and were there specifically to see what Oliveve handbags were available since I had recently come across this brand while shopping at the House of Lolo in Palm Desert. Kayla immediately recognized my Jasper bag! The Oliveve bags have a modern design, clean lines, and my bag is made of neutral colored pebbled leather. It's the perfect bag to use while shopping as it is a cross body style yet as large as a tote and holds a lot. That day there was only one Olivevebag available, a black handbag with tan wrapped handles, and my friend immediately claimed it! I'll have to go online (Oliveve.com) to buy my next one, the black oiled Italian leather Eva bag, which I've had my eye on for a few months. In addition to the clothing, they have a small selection of unique jewelry and other accessories like boots, tassels to add to your handbags, hats, belts and scarves. Even a small but unique selection of home decor items like textured throws, pillows, candles, woven baskets and trays, perfume and vases.p to adorn your home. Located on NW 11th in The Pearl District, it's around the corner from the main shopping area so unless you know it's there, you may not stumble upon it. It's worth seeking out if you want to add quality clothing to your wardrobe that you can wear season after season. And while you are there, definitely check out the jewelry, boots and the Oliveve handbags!

There really is not that much to choose from as the theme here is obviously minimalist. The few things they do have are lovely and for me, priced completely unreasonably. Like I am going to spend almost $1000 on a wool trench coat with some leather trim? Sure, it's a sharp looking coat. But good God, I know we are in the Pearl but is anyone going to spend that much? Maybe I am just not hip with the times and people really do spend that kind of money on a random coat, if so, I beg your pardon. It would be cool if your shop had goods that "normal" people like me, I know I am throwing the term normal around quite loosely but folks probably get my gist. My budget for a really nice and very unique coat is more like $500.00 Unless you are selling Versace or something, consider rethinking your price points. It's just that I see so many shops like this come and go because nobody is going to really shop there. 2015 - Review # 98

Ok this is the best store ever! My sister, cousin and I stumbled into this store after a wedding…read moreweekend and we were so surprised how much we loved all the pieces! We all have individually different styles and tastes, but somehow the owner kept bringing us suggestions that were SPOT ON! I didn't know Natalie was the owner until later, but up until that point I was like "ok this person needs to be a professional stylist or something!" (Duh, she runs this store so she's doing exactly what she should be doing with her talent!) Natalie could pick up our cues and notice what styles we liked, and yet she would suggest certain new styles that I didn't even know I would like! My sister said she was literally going to cancel Stitch Fix and just ask Natalie what to buy! That's exactly what this experience is --- stitch fix but in person! I really appreciate that she even went to the back and gave us choices on items that weren't on the floor yet - it made us feel special! Plus she knew what was coming in style, which was nice to know because I really don't follow fashion. The pieces at this store are exactly my style: almost an Anthropologie vibe but more staple pieces and slightly preppy. Basically anyone can find something they like here! There are some simple pieces but hang really well on the body, no matter what size you are. I LOVE the fall/winter looks and I was tempted to buy sweaters and jackets even though it was 93 degrees out LOL! (Store is nicely air conditioned.) I also like the price range, which isn't insanely stupid expensive but quality pieces deserve the accurate pricing. (Ranging from 30-$120, not like $250+ like some LA boutique stores.) We liked so many pieces that we kept checking out with more and more items! I didn't even mean to stay for that long! Natalie- we still rave about you and your amazing customer service!! Thank you for a great shopping experience!
