This place is super cute and great for kids but as an adult, our treats were a bit too sweet. We both took a few bites and had to toss it. I don't know what we were expecting lol. As we walked by, we saw a sign for mini's, which is what we came in for. But the signs were so bright we ended up ordering a regular which was far too big! Place was clean and there was plenty of seating. Staff were friendly as well.

Great service, great desserts, and great vibes/ambiance. Seriously, everything was great. BUT! Their prices are just... outrageously expensive. Even if this place was inside of Lumen Field during a Seahawks game or Climate Pledge when Lady Gaga was performing... these prices still would not have been justified. I did get a great photo out of it though. Check it out!

The Yard is an ice cream shop with a flair for the dramatic, featuring artful milkshakes and neat decor. The presentation of each shake is Instagram-worthy, making it a popular spot for capturing that perfect shot. However, the prices are quite steep which makes it more of an occasional treat rather than a frequent stop for a quick shake. While the shakes are visually impressive, the high cost is a drawback and with many high quality local ice creameries I'd hope for the flavor to bring something unique to the table but it's average.

You know the saying "looks can be deceiving?" That summarizes our experience at The Yard. We were deceptively allured in by fanciful sundaes served in mason jars. Seems cute, right? Unfortunately, presentation and a view of the Columbia River are all The Yard has going for it. The sundaes are egregiously priced at over $20 each, and they are not that tasty. We ordered the Peanut Butter and Brownie Bliss, the Brookie Batter, and the Unicorn. The cashier seemed overwhelmed and wasn't friendly at all when we placed our requests. Each sundae was mostly a fake whipped cream...around 3/4 of each creation, and the ice cream once you finally got to it, was not that special. In addition, the brownie on the Brookie Batter sundae was hard and stale. My niece also had stomach issues after eating the Unicorn. Do yourself a favor, and walk down the street to Salt and Straw instead.

I wasn't going to get anything but I saw a berry pie ice cream and got a small scoop. The menu itself is expensive and very sugary. They use bluebell ice cream. Service was as expected. The inside was very crowded on a Saturday night. Some seating was available. Pretty clean inside. They have a sink you can wash your cup in.

If you're a milkshake lover, run to The Yard! I had the Cookies & Cream and the Banana Split milkshakes--both were insanely good. Creamy, rich, and totally over-the-top in the best way. Topped with all kinds of goodies and served in those fun souvenir jars! It's dessert that looks as amazing as it tastes. Definitely worth the splurge and the sugar rush for a special occasion. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors!

Ordering experience was fine and the wait wasn't long. Sadly the milkshake looked better than it tasted. That was the worst edible cookie dough I have ever tasted and it wasn't worth eating. The chocolate chips were not special and the whipped cream tasted fake and there was a half cup of it or more! Way too much. The ice cream itself was good but toppings seemed low quality, and considering the crazy high price, they should be using top quality ingredients! Not worth it. I can get a better ice cream dessert elsewhere for less.

We have been wanting to try the yard milkshake bar for a very long time. It is located right on the waterfront and you can sit and enjoy amazing views while you enjoy your milkshake or ice cream bowls, my only downside with this establishment is I can't see myself happily spending $25 for a singular milkshake but I understand why they charge it that high because the milkshake that you get is massive. The service was extremely good. They were extremely helpful and friendly.

What a great place for this area. The service is pretty well organized. You walk in and hop in line. While waiting you are looking at all of the ice cream choices of milkshakes and bowls. You order at the register. And then wait at a table inside or out to hear your number called. Be sure to take a peak at the sign behind the register as to how long the wait will be. We were about 20 mins. Depends on how busy it is at the time. When you are done eating, there is a wash station to clean out your glass inside. Great all around. Only negative feedback is the lava cake and brownie were very dry. Not worth eating.

Terrible service. Came in with my family as we were celebrating with our young kiddos. We'd never been in before and wont be returning. There were no other customers inside, just my family while there were 3 employees behind the counter. None of them greeted us. All three were teenagers too preoccupied with chatting among themselves and not working. After waiting a few minutes to order, I had to interrupt the staff to take our order. The attitudes of these teens. The prices are absurdly high and not worth it.

Ever get the hankering to spend $21 on a messy milkshake with other items needlessly adorning it? No? Me neither, yet here's The Yard Milkshake Bar, and that's exactly what they do. Why did I go here? I'm not sure anybody actually "goes" here so much as "winds up" here, which is exactly my case. I tried to see a jazz duo at a terrible wine tasting room in the same general area, but was turned away at the door for not having a ticket (which I'd happily have bought had they listed it anywhere on their web site, but I digress). So, what do to at the Vancouver Waterfront when one's original plans fall through? One winds up at said Milkshake bar. Not wanting to spend a Jackson and a Washington (or a Lincoln after tax and tip), but wanting to try a milkshake, I opted for the still obscenely overpriced $13 pint standard shake. How was it? It was truly outstanding, SUPER flavorful and creamy. Was it worth $13? Maybe once, maybe once a year, but there's nothing inherently better about this milkshake than what I've had at Ruby's Diner or other specialty shops that do it far less expensively.

What a cool place. Has so many choices. Very large sundaes and very taste. I even kept my jar. Worth a look if you like interesting ice cream places.

OK- these are not your ordinary shakes!! They are part of a SHAKE EXPERIENCE! Erik was a wonderful guide as he walked Dakota thru her Mermaid Shake Experience!! The end result- a sugar overloaded masterfully crafted dessert that delighted my young friend!!

So, I won't lie, I had REALLY high expectations when I chose this out of all the other options for "dinner". I. Am. Blown. Away. The waitress was patient and answered all my questions. The place is small but clean. They run out of their seasonal, so be aware. My husband paid while I went to the bathroom and he kinda made a comment about 25 bucks for two ice creams, which surprised me as well. Until she gave us the ice cream. My Mt St Helens was three largish scoops with a delightfully large amount of toppings. His ice cream cone came in one of the largest cones I've ever seen. It's thicker and crispier than commercial so I think they make their cones in house! But the rockstar is the ice cream itself. I grew up in the area and so I'm very familiar with northwest flavors. This ice cream is like my childhood in a scoop. The ice cream has enough fats to give a nice mouth feel and I'm not even sure they use Guar gum or carrageenan. The honey tastes local. Even the raspberry syrup tastes like raspberries off the side of a country road that are ripe but not too ripe. That sweet sour taste. If you are traveling through or a guest of this town, you have to try the ice cream.

Assam Black Milk Tea, Regular Size, 50% Sweet, Less Ice, Non-Dairy Creamer w/ Boba ($7.20) - The milk tea has a good body and is shaken until foam develops on the surface. The Assam tea base tastes fruity, almost a bit like plum, mixed with plenty of malt essence. It's not too sweet at half and is generally good to drink. The boba is a little firm for my tastes, but is mostly acceptable. The pearls are smaller than normal boba, not mini sized, but probably could expand a bit more with more boil and soak time. They do have good, consistently smooth exteriors. Note: Less ice is still a lot of ice Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 Softea serves some decent boba. I wish they put in a little less ice, but there are certainly worse options in Vancouver. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.
