I'm SO glad we did! Amazing outdoor seating, dog friendly, and a lovely indoor/outdoor bar with several TVs to watch your favorite sports! Food was delicious. I came here on a visit to Dallas in the summer. The outdoor seating was great. It was very hot outside as you'd expect, but The Yard has mature trees providing plenty of shade. This coupled with the fans they have made it quite comfortable, cooler than expected. I had the nachos and a salad. The large nachos is large enough to split across two people. The pricing was fair, not too expensive, but not cheap either. They do offer a military discount and applied it to the food and the alcohol, so that makes the pricing better. read more

Delicious!!!! We stopped by for some afternoon snacks. We had the sweet and spicy wings, queso, cheese and cracker plate, chili, and chicken tenders. The chili had a lot of beans so if you like beans then you would enjoy! The wings had the perfect amount of heat complemented by the sweetness of the sauce. The taco ranch tortilla chips were fresh and crunchy and the queso was spot on!! The cheese and cracker plate was my favorite part, simple yet a staple!!! The drink menu is also fun and has some interesting concoctions. The thing that always impresses me about this place is the service. It's pretty big, and is almost always busy and yet the service is fast and responsive. The last time there, Rosario was our waitress and she did an incredible job. She always seemed to show up at the exact right moment or whenever we needed another drink. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more often. read more

Her smile was very welcoming and it didn't appear just when she was at the table. never saw it leave her face. Very friendly and checked on the table frequently. I had wanted to try this spot for a while so finally made the drive over. The yard is a home in downtown McKinney that has been turned into a restaurant. When you are here and realize this is makes you feel bad about your sad little backyard at home. . We checked in and they said there was a bit of a wait and we could get drinks in the bar but they weren't very specific in where the bar seating was compared to sears you had to wait for We had to find someone to ask as it turns out the table in front of the bar and not bar tables. Once the bar clarified we were able to order drinks in the window and go site in the gravel area. Overall a great place to eat outside with a nice view. The Elotes were very good. Not my top #1 but solid top 3 which is good. The hot dog was very dressed up and big and very solid meal. The fish taco was very interesting and came deconstructed but when put all together was fantastic and a definite must to try. The chicken sandwich was also very good and juicy and not over done. Wow! Such a neat addition to the McKinney downtown area. The breeze was perfect for outdoor dining. Trees just spectacular. Plenty of wait staff. I did not really care for the appetizer wings. They were fatty and blue cheese is just ranch with few blue cheese sprinkles.
