    Thursday night jazz
    Joi R.

Went to the Thursday night Jazz Jam Session for the first time last night, and it was simply the coolest. I was so far into my jazz element I could have stayed there and listened to the musicians play well into the morning. Just great jazz, nothing more, and nothing else needed. I'm so glad I finally checked it out, because I'm definitely going to be a regular. It was such a great escape with amazing talent. Everyone needs to check out the jam sessions. 054/100

Went to take my mom to see Barbara Morrison play Dinah Washington in "I wanna be loved". Loved the venue. Barbara is fantastic if you love jazz and blues. I had never been here before and I found out they have jazz o Thursday nights. I'll definitely be back to check it out!

    Ijahken rock'n it LIVE!

Attended an afternoon of the live reggae music concert series and enjoyed it greatly! If you are a roots reggae lover or love old skool reggae from back in the day then try the concert series on Sundays 5-8pm. Ijahken & The Fari Soliders/ Kojo Lion were awesome and kept me vibing and smiling the entire performances. Venue is very cozy, laid back and always clean. Everyone is very laid back and I haven't experienced any issues here.

Review #921 2025-098…read more I'm not usually in this area, but my friend received 2 extra tickets to see "Stitch Head" at the Cinemark Baldwin Hills. Waze was pretty accurate leading us to the theater & grabbing a parking spot close to the entrance. I'm not familiar with this brand because it's not close home (at least I didn't know until I looked them up). They're based in Plano, TX with a few operating near in S. CA like Carson, Long Beach, Downey, etc. My son & I ate linner prior to joining Lily W. & her husband so we skipped the movie snacks, though my son brought some of his Halloween candy as his post meal dessert. The concession stand is quite large, & was without lines for a Saturday evening even though there were plenty of good movie screenings. Check-in was easy since my friend arrived first & passed me our tickets to be scanned for entry. We were in the smaller theater in the back & almost had the whole place to ourselves with the exception of a family & a couple. We got center seats on the 1st row of the stadium seating so no view obstructions & I can rest/stretch my legs on the railing. The seats were a little lumpy, probably because there's a lot of movie goers. The sound system was crisp, though a tad too loud. The theater itself was clean. Stitch Head is an animated monster fantasy comedy with some cutesy songs; it's based from a graphic novel of the same name that's written by Guy Bass. It follows a mad scientist's 1st creation that guides & cares for his master's monsters, who is obsessed with creating new ones & ignoring them once they're alive. He later leaves for the circus, lured by potential fame. Stitch Head believes he's loved at the circus, but his friends, Creature, Arabella, & others, show him otherwise, & eventually make peace with who they (monsters) are & the Grubber Nubbin townsfolk, & accepted into the village as one of their own. Cinemark Baldwin Hills is not my preferred theater by location or brand, but it served its purpose... showing a fun family movie with great sound technology in a theater that we almost had all to ourselves.

Went here today to see truth & treason. Even though I saw first 30 mins of movie I had to leave…read morebecause freelance client hit me up. Definitely will see the rest of it at home. There was only 1 person in theatre with me. I highly recommend this location if you want to go to movies with not so many people in theatre in morning.
