Had a fabulous time at this club! I came on Tuesday, May 19th to see Tanerèlle with a friend. Show started at 7, doors opened at 5. We arrived ~6. That timing was perfect tbh We had ample time to get situated, validate our parking, order and devour our food without stressing about hurrying up for the show. The only way to experience this venue well is to get there early. Only issue with this place is the food, perhaps unsurprisingly, is very overpriced for what it is. I paid $40 for a salmon dish that resembled a dish I could easily make at home. Home. It was just salmon, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Nothing to write home about. And they pull world-class talent in such an intimate setting. I'm so grateful we have a jazz club like this in LA now. Will be back!

The concert was everything! Digable Planets | Yes, please! The group was amazing! Jazz Rap at its finest, as Butterfly, Ladybug Mecca, & Doodlebug took the stage! Their vibe was easily smooth and their lyrics flowed with ease! I love the interaction with the crowd as well! Good vibes all around & a whole lot of flavor! Inside | Elegant decor, moody lighting, and the velvet blue curtain stood front and center, as well as the stage set up with equipment for the musicians and recording artists!! There was a variety of seating areas! Some were right by the stage, others were at wide velvet chairs near the back, including seating at the bar! It's actually a large space, once you step inside! We selected a table right in front of the velvet chairs, which was perfect! Not too close to the stage, not too far, but just right! I would easily select the same seating again! Outside | We were met with blue velvet ropes, which fit the theme & name of the venue! We easily found parking at a meter nearby! Food & Drinks | Order $20 per person plus ticket price! We both had a drink, sure the delicious olives and I also had a few bites of the olive oil cake. I would try something different on my next visit! Overall | The Blue Note as an elegant venue that I would easily go back to, depending upon who is performing! We had a great time!

The live music was incredible, the guy playing the sax really knows how to jam. The dancers and musicians were performing together, and did several shows! There's this magical connection between a musician and a dancer that you see and feel as they improvise and work the crowd, the stage, and the whole venue. In between performances there was social dancing, with a lot of great dancers dressed to the nines. The birthday cake performance is something you got to see and experience, totally off the charts, like something you'd see in a movie! The final performance is with a giant martini glass. The girl dances around/in the glass filled with water and then pours champagne all over herself. One of the most wild over the top things I've ever seen! The energy and vibes were off the hook! From the moment of arrival, the atmosphere establishes itself as both sophisticated and intimate. The room is thoughtfully designed, with warm lighting, tasteful décor, and acoustics that elevate the live music experience without overwhelming conversation. The venue strikes a careful balance--energetic yet controlled--making it equally suitable for a night of entertainment or a focused dining experience. A particularly memorable highlight of the evening was a visit to our table from Eden Alpert, daughter of Herb Alpert. She was gracious, engaging, and genuinely attentive, adding a personal touch that reinforced the establishment's commitment to hospitality at every level. The culinary program reflects intention and care. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, with clear attention to detail in both presentation and flavor. Execution in the kitchen is confident, and the overall quality of the food aligns well with the venue's upscale positioning. The wine list is well-curated and sufficient in scope, offering a range of options to complement the menu. However, pricing is notably elevated, with markups that may give even seasoned diners pause. A corkage fee of $50 per bottle is in line with the venue's premium positioning, though it further reinforces the importance of thoughtful wine selection for those mindful of value. Service throughout the evening was attentive and polished, contributing to a seamless flow from seating to service to performance. Staff demonstrated both professionalism and warmth, enhancing the overall guest experience. The live music remains the centerpiece--and rightly so. Performances are exceptional, supported by excellent acoustics that allow every note to resonate clearly throughout the space. It is this combination of sound quality, ambiance, and intimacy that continues to define the venue's reputation. In summary, Vibrato Grill Jazz delivers a compelling and well-rounded experience: elevated cuisine, engaging service, and outstanding live jazz in an elegant setting. While the wine pricing may lean toward the premium end, the overall experience justifies its standing as a destination for both dining and music enthusiasts alike.

Sorry for the long narrative:…read more 1) I planned out a special night for my wife throughout all of Level 8 2) Had reservations set at Lucky Mizu for Dinner to Mr. Wanderlust for Cocktails and Entertainment and then to Sinners and Santos for Drinking and Dancing for Latin Night 3) Showed up for our 6:45 PM reservation at Lucky Mizu but was turned away 3 times stating they didn't have seats available. After being seated 40 minutes later, service took 20 minutes to take our order, and another 30 minutes to be served. Food was 'okay', there was no entertainment, and multiple customers were unhappy with similar slow service... but some of them were comped parts of their meals.. we didn't even get a sorry until we spoke to the manager on our way out, expressing the reason was they had no idea it would be this busy on a Thursday (they take reservations, so...), and also blamed an 'all you can eat promotion' they promoted earlier, and they only had two serves on staff that night. 4) We were late to Mr. Wanderlust, but were luck to get two seats at the bar after another couple left. We order two cocktails and a coffee... and were charged just over $140. Then, we were asked to move because they wanted to take our seats. We asked about the bill to the bartendar, and she expressed that since she didn't take our original order, she couldn't help us. She simply just had us stand there. We were not going to pay since it seemed way off... until finally we spoke to a guy walking by. We showed him our ticket/receipt and said out loud, "this isn't right". He came back quickly with a revised bill of almost $120. This was still far too high, but no one else seemed interested in helping us find resolve, so we ate it since we didn't want to be late for part 3 of the night. 5) Hoping to salvage the night with drinks and dancing... we tried to find the entrance to Sinners and Santos for their advertised Latin night. We had made reservations here too, and had full confirmation of the reservation... BUT, after finally being directed to the entrance (outside on the patio), they were closed. No sign of why and no one who worked at the other locations had a reason, but they were just simply closed. 6) So, after paying $35 for parking, about $140 in cocktails and food while waiting for our initial reservation at Golden Hour and Que Barbaro, $150+ for dinner at Lucky Mizu, and $120 at Mr. Wanderlust... approximately $500 total... we didn't even get to dance. Maybe this place had a bad night, but based on what the workers said, and how they treated us... it sure seems like the norm. Don't get me wrong, the place is cool... some really great experiential elements and nice photo ops... but I would have had a much better time somewhere else. Super disappointed in this place.

Jazz, people-watching, and a full-on summer vibe…read more First time at Jazz at LACMA, and somehow I really thought getting there at 5 for a 6 p.m. start was gonna put me ahead. Parking? Still annoying. I got lucky and found a lot with one space left, but $20 for parking definitely deserves a mention because paying for parking is always a little painful. Even getting there an hour early, it was already extremely crowded. I was very glad I brought lawn chairs, a blanket, and snacks because while they do have food trucks, the food options felt pretty limited for the amount of people there. By the time I got settled, I was pretty far from the actual music. I could hear it just fine, but actually seeing the performers was another story. The vibe Now that part was absolutely worth it. Being outside on a summer night, listening to great music, surrounded by families, couples, friends, and beautifully dressed people just enjoying themselves... it really was such a vibe. Some people had full picnic setups with blankets, tables, food, wine, charcuterie, the whole thing. It was so cute seeing couples posted up, having their little summer night. And me? I was perfectly happy people-watching because I love an art crowd anyway, and adding jazz culture to it just made it even better. The style, the energy, the atmosphere... just a really lovely way to spend a night. Final thoughts If you go, come prepared. Bring chairs, bring snacks, and definitely expect a crowd. It may not be the best setup if your goal is actually seeing the performers up close, but if you're there for the music, the people, and the overall experience, it's absolutely worth it. First time definitely won't be my last. Such a good summer night.
