Yelp review: "I have…read morerecently been coming to the venue. Really enjoying the music and food. Til I was recently there for the KRS-ONE show and lecture. Great time. Thanks to Keano for the hospitality and laughs. But I noticed that during the lecture, the topics KRS-ONE was talking about was playing out right in front of my eyes. I had seen Keano working security and bar-backing. He wasn't allowed to take food or drink orders, and when I asked why, he said he wasn't "qualified". He seemed to be the only person running food back and forth and other things constantly. The server I didn't even get her name but it was one time the tall blonde girl, and another time was the short light skinned girl. They both didn't seem to want to be working at all. Every time I went there, the servers were just bad. The girl Mya was amazing and friendly. The other 2 both times were very dismissive and rude. Both girls got my order wrong. One time the blonde just didn't bring my food and when confronted she had an attitude towards me like it was my mistake. Luckily Keano came and apologized for their mistakes. It's unfortunate that this place has 1 guy who seems to be doing more work than the rest, but is considered "unqualified" to take orders. The amount of time I've seen both servers waste just standing there or being on their phone while watching others working hard, is the exact example of what the lecture was about. I hope Keano gets compensated properly, and the other 2 girls either gets trained better on how to do their job and come to work with a better attitude, or management needs to find better people. Such a shame for an amazing place to be operating with poor staff and management. They are losing so much money with the people they have as "qualified". Keano was the best for showing us welcome and he made sure we had a great time Thank you

As we are clients,…read morehaving purchased through Colleen :) Was delightful evening: band was playing, yummy food was catered, and drinks were delicious even me with my virgin margarita! Even had thoughtful, rustic party favors too. Parked across Lincoln, was easy peezy to walk over too. Moody, elegant, intimate cozy, coastal bar vibes. Never knew this was here all these years in Venice! Now we know. Something a lil different than the abbot Kinney tourist fare, or oceanfront dive bar variety. May return shortly and try the Saturday brunch bc why not? Right. We Always enjoy food with live music and the beach nearby. It really doesn't get any better than that, esp in this LA Heatwave. Here's to many more years and more Venice Beach history. Now off we go to an evening of Art Crawl heehe.

My wife and I enjoyed the Think X show on December 30 and had a wonderful time. This is the type of…read moresmaller venue that makes everyone feel at home. Yes, we all bumped up against each other, but there were never any hard feelings about it. Instead, everyone always had a smile. Despite the fact that the bar was PACKED for the show, our server was almost unbelievably attentive. Even closing out our tab only took 2ish minutes, with a couple hundred people present. the drinks were good and STRONG, too. This is what I like - if we're going to pay L.A. prices for drinks, make them good...and they did! As for the show, it was incredible and the sound was remarkable (and important note, as good sound is sometimes lacking in smaller venues). Plus, the tickets were only like 35 bucks! WE DID NOT get to eat, as all of the tables were booked, but I could see and smell other people's food and it looked INCREDIBLE. This was our first trip to The Mint, but it definitely isn't going to be our last. Thank you for giving us an amazing night!

You must get there early if you'd like to find a spot to sit and enjoy. -Wait staff is MEH. Additionally, they should really tell customers that the water bottles they bring out cost $4.00 each. They didn't tell us until we asked for a "full breakdown" of the bill. -Also, keep an eye out for "included tip" followed up by additional tip line. I thought was sneaky.

Jazz, people-watching, and a full-on summer vibe…read more First time at Jazz at LACMA, and somehow I really thought getting there at 5 for a 6 p.m. start was gonna put me ahead. Parking? Still annoying. I got lucky and found a lot with one space left, but $20 for parking definitely deserves a mention because paying for parking is always a little painful. Even getting there an hour early, it was already extremely crowded. I was very glad I brought lawn chairs, a blanket, and snacks because while they do have food trucks, the food options felt pretty limited for the amount of people there. By the time I got settled, I was pretty far from the actual music. I could hear it just fine, but actually seeing the performers was another story. The vibe Now that part was absolutely worth it. Being outside on a summer night, listening to great music, surrounded by families, couples, friends, and beautifully dressed people just enjoying themselves... it really was such a vibe. Some people had full picnic setups with blankets, tables, food, wine, charcuterie, the whole thing. It was so cute seeing couples posted up, having their little summer night. And me? I was perfectly happy people-watching because I love an art crowd anyway, and adding jazz culture to it just made it even better. The style, the energy, the atmosphere... just a really lovely way to spend a night. Final thoughts If you go, come prepared. Bring chairs, bring snacks, and definitely expect a crowd. It may not be the best setup if your goal is actually seeing the performers up close, but if you're there for the music, the people, and the overall experience, it's absolutely worth it. First time definitely won't be my last. Such a good summer night.

Once you finally get there (or maybe you already have a deep connection with it already), you'll see how this place is special. I saw a fantastic show here earlier this month. Guitars are at the heart of the matter. Lessons, sales, repairs, community. When you see the stage, you'll see the many guitars displayed on the walls. It's a comfortable, expansive vibe with a matter-of-fact quality that you might pick up on.. I can't believe it took me this long to visit McCabe's. It's a thrill to be there, and the music is what will bring you back.
