When we asked, he said he would let her go out and come back in, but he wouldn't let me go with her. I explained that I wanted to go because, in my opinion, this is not an area where I feel comfortable with two women walking outside alone late at night. His response was, "It's perfectly safe." I understand that he may have a different opinion, but sitting inside the gated entrance, he's not the one who would be walking to the car with us. Later, when a male friend from our group tried to go outside with her instead, the bouncer made him read the no-reentry sign multiple times. At that point, we all decided to leave. What bothered me most was the inconsistency. If the rules on the sign are going to be strictly enforced, then they should be consistently enforced--including the bag checks that are listed on the same sign. And if exceptions are going to be made, they should be applied consistently rather than depending on who is asking. I came here expecting to have a fun karaoke night, and unfortunately the way this was handled left such a bad taste in my mouth that we won't be coming back. I pulled out singles and EPs of OM records, Panhandle, Felix da Housecat, Masters at Work, Mark Farina, Naked Music, Collette and tons of other old house gems. Foot Work also carries techno, trance, drum n bass, and even some 90s hip hop. I love that you can listen to the records before you decide what you want to purchase. They also seem to prefer you left unwanted records in the crate, so they can make sure it gets returned in the correct section. It's bumping on Sundays with local djs taking turns on the ones and twos. Dakin is working on getting a beer and wine license, so it will definitely be a loungy hangout spot soon!

As other reviewers have noted, there is a listening station with bins where you put the records you don't want so you don't mess up his system--very smart.
