We had a blast! The band had the crowd jumping. In addition, the place is big w/ lots of tables for large groups (there were ~ 15 in our party). The dance floor is spacious also, so it didn't get body to body. Lastly, the clientele are chill, and no one was looking to cause trouble unlike some places. Our waitress took excellent care of us (I forgot her name). But all the staff was cool. I ordered a few drinks from Yvette at the bar, and she was friendly & warm. The only downside is the food is pricey & average. That issue is easily resolved by eating beforehand (band starts @ ~ 9 pm). I only had snacks at Gaslamp to line my stomach for all the alcohol. I would definitely return to enjoy a fun night in a low key place. The cover is reasonable, and the service is very good.

They did honour my request to have the burger plain with just the bun, meat and cheese. Good. The burger was decent but nothing special especially considering the price. The French Fries were decent. I was not able to understand what Whey Jennings said from the stage. Either he did not speak well or else that the acoustics were bad. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would be in there solid with a B.

There's a sign saying no leaving and reentry and that bags are subject to checks. I've been here multiple times and have never actually had my bag checked. My friend wanted to go to her car to get a pain reliever, and she and I were going to step outside because the bouncer has let her leave and come back in before. When we asked, he said he would let her go out and come back in, but he wouldn't let me go with her. I explained that I wanted to go because, in my opinion, this is not an area where I feel comfortable with two women walking outside alone late at night. His response was, "It's perfectly safe." I understand that he may have a different opinion, but sitting inside the gated entrance, he's not the one who would be walking to the car with us. Later, when a male friend from our group tried to go outside with her instead, the bouncer made him read the no-reentry sign multiple times. At that point, we all decided to leave. What bothered me most was the inconsistency. If the rules on the sign are going to be strictly enforced, then they should be consistently enforced--including the bag checks that are listed on the same sign. And if exceptions are going to be made, they should be applied consistently rather than depending on who is asking. I came here expecting to have a fun karaoke night, and unfortunately the way this was handled left such a bad taste in my mouth that we won't be coming back. If you're looking for a karaoke spot in Long Beach, just be aware that this was my experience with the security at this particular bar.

I wish the people were more friendly, but they were mostly Mexicans and have no love for 'Blacks' Latino or otherwise. I even wore a nice dress shirt with tge word 'Honduras', on it. Not like the East coast were 'Black' Latinos are more common.
