My conference hosted a dinner here at The Wine Loft and it was one of the highlights of the conference. The food was amazing and everything was prepared and organized perfectly. It was served buffet style and the staff made sure that we never ran out of food. The best part of the night for me was the bartender. Every drink he made for us was spot on. I was actually blown away by this place. The space was ginormous, which was very unexpectedly as I am used to businesses on this road being very narrow or cramped. I went in yesterday with a group of 11 for a wine tasting. They sampled 4 wines, 2 red and 2 white. They have MASSIVE wine selection, as expected. The waiter did great making suggestions and providing samples before we committed. The dinner special was lasagna, which came w/garlic bread and salad. Very large portions! Pretty good stuff. My only complaint is the lighting in the area that they have for larger groups is very, very dim. Look... I'm 40! I need light when reading a menu - not from my cell phone! Lol! It's really really really really hard to go wrong with this place. The location, size, prices and ambiance is amazing. If there isn't a social/event going on, the calm relaxing feel help you relax while you enjoy a beverage. The staff is always friendly, and temperature is perfect. This is a really cool place. High ceilings, cool paintings on the walls, high tables. Very trendy. I think this would be a great place to bring a lady on a date. They have a huge selection of wines, including my favorite, Prisoner. There were two private parties going on when we were there. One was in a room off to the side, the other was in the main area. So it seems like a good place to host an event. They have some food items too but we just sat at the bar and had wine. Despite it being a weekend night, the place was not crowded. There was only one or two other people at the bar. In spite of this, our bartender was not very attentive and was less than friendly. I found this disappointing because I really wanted to chat with her about the place and ask her about what it used to be and what was the deal with having events but I didn't bother due to her demeanor. So, hence the four stars. I didn't leave with a great feeling about the place but I would like to go back and give it another try. read more

Due to the pandemic, they are only open for special events and on Wednesday evenings. They have a infrared thermometer to check temps at the door and are spacing seating apart. The inside is much nicer than anticipated. It's a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The have contactless menus through QR codes. Since they aren't open as often as usual they have a limited menu, but still plenty of options. I got the Frisk Pickly Riesling as my wine and it was great. It was the nice mix of sweet but not too sweet. They also usually have a cocktail menu but do not currently. I got the nightly special which was tilapia with chipotle cole slaw and roasted red potatoes. Both sides definitely stood out and were packed with flavor. The fish was cooked well but didn't pop to me like the other food. Overall a really great place to grab some wine and food. Make sure to support them during the pandemic! read more

Love this place. Half off bottles over $50 on Tuesdays before 9pm, wine tastings on Wednesdays, really good food, fantastic atmosphere. The space itself is huge, which gives them the ability to isolate one group from another. You can bring a few friends an in most cases grab a spot with 2 couches and your own table, sectioned off by huge curtain/tapestry things which gives a bit of privacy for you and your group. More places should consider things like this. Generally, when I go out, I'm not looking to talk to strangers, and I don't want to be in a dense crowd where it's standing room only, so being able to sit with my friends in a quiet, comfortable place, without being cramped, and without feeling forced to mingle with a crowd is a big plus for me. For those of you who are looking for a great place for a date, or just a quiet place to catch up with friends, The Wine Loft should be near the top of your list. Just a really nice, cool environment where you can have a conversation without yelling over a crowd or a band. So...you're not a wine drinker...or maybe you're willing to drink some wine but you aren't a sommelier. No worries at all. The staff here are excellent at what they do. Give them some parameters, and with their huge selection, you shouldn't have any trouble at all finding something to enjoy from the cellar. If wine isn't your thing, no worries at all. They have a full bar, and a list of cocktails that should satisfy anyone looking for just about anything to drink. Martinis, local beers, and their own house cocktails should cover just about anyone...and I can attest to the fact that the drinks are quite well done, so don't worry about getting shorted on the booze or being served something that's below par. They do seem to take a lot of pride in doing things right and serving quality stuff. Now...the food. It's quite possible that this place may be serving some of the best "bar food" around. Calling it bar food isn't even really fair. Yes, it's a bar, and yes, they are serving food. But don't expect chicken fingers and patty melts. Think more in terms of lamb popsicles, baked brie, charcuterie boards, cheese plates, and so on. You just simply won't regret anything that you choose and you may well be very impressed with what they bring to your table. I mean...who doesn't want cheese and wine? Or some lamb chops? Overall, and in every category they just do a great job. The staff is always professional, and both willing and able to make wine drinking accessible to those who may be intimidated by a list of 100s of wines. The food is outstanding. Our office held our summer social at The Wine Loft recently from 5:00 - 7:00 on a Thursday night. The event coordinator, Kristin Warren, is extremely easy to work with and always accommodating (trying to work with several vegetarians in the office and those on Keto / low carb diets). We have done this event off and on for several years and the appetizer choices we order change slightly, and the food is always tasty. We typically purchase the standard bar package, which is a set fee per person and includes decent wines and liquors. They post a menu at the bar to inform what is available and employees just place their order at the bar. There is plenty of room to move around and socialize. We've never had any surprises on the bill and everybody seems to enjoy this event. I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a place to hold your corporate event (would absolutely be great for other events such as pre-wedding gatherings reunions and such). read more

Came here as a +1 for a company Christmas party. The atmosphere was great, with plenty of standing and sitting room for the number if people in attendance. They even had a TV going for all of the football fans in the room! As far as food: I preferred the Thai Peanut Chicken Satays over the Teriyaki Filet Satays. Class of 1969 50th Reunion Meet and Greet. My 50th Class Reunion committee struggled to find just the right place for our first night, the Meet and Greet. With physical limitations brought on by age, I had to exclude lots of venues. The Wine Loft totally fit the bill of what I was looking for. In addition, it was within our budget. We put the most important night of the reunion in their hands and they did not disappoint. I worried about the menu only because I'm not good at selecting what people like to eat. Kristin stepped in offering help and saved me. Everyone loved the food selections. Starting off with a glass or wine or a bar drink got the guest up and moving, chatting, and enjoying each other's company. Kristin asked what type of music we liked. I mentioned that we graduated in the 60's when Motown was king. Her Motown playlist was loved by my classmates. She helped me hang our banner. Kept checking on me. She was the consummate host. I came here for my birthday and the layout is gorgeous. On the outside, it looks like an abandoned little patio restaurant lot in a slightly sketchy area but the moment you go inside, you're transported to the world of classy. Each table and booth area is separated by an impossibly tall veil and the lights that glimmer against it set the scene. The interior has the lounge feel with low tables and fun seats that connect everyone in your party immediately. The apple turnover was delicious but be careful eating here--it only gets awkward because of the table height. I had a lovely time here. Sure the menu was hard to read because of the dim lights. Even our waitress had to move our menu around to read it. The only down side is that you only get two wine tastes which seems too little especially with the name of the place being Wine Loft. read more

I love Wine Loft! Some people tend to think that you have to be a "wine snob" to enjoy this place, but my experience has been quite the opposite. The only thing I know about wine is that I like it...a lot. So the great thing about Wine Loft is if I'm in the mood for something specific (sweet, dry, fruity, whatever), the staff is always more than willing to suggest something and more often than not, I absolutely love it! This place is perfect for just about any occasion, whether that's a romantic night out or the start of a fun girl's night. I actually went to a bachelorette bar crawl that started here and the staff was more than happy to accommodate us. This is a cute little place in downtown! It is HUGE. Even though it is on the large size in Space the way they have it laid out so can still have an intimate convo and a quite chill evening. The menu has so much to offer. They have food and drinks. We had some type of flat bread situation that was rather DELISH. It had bacon, peppers and olive oil drizzled on it. I can't remember the name for the life of me but it was yum! My man had a beer and I ordered a cocktail. It was something with Patron, champagne, and peach purée. It was so so good! Next time I should probably get wine.. Because they have so many choices. I waitress was lovely. So quick with everything and a smile the whole time. My boyfriend and I swung through Birmingham for a night on a 10-day road trip. We made the most of our night, timing it quite perfectly with a Patti Griffin show at Alys Performing Arts Center. After the show we wanted to stop out somewhere for a glass of wine so we did a quick search on our phones and stumbled upon the Wine Loft. The atmosphere is pretty romantic with sweeping sheer curtains draped from the highest of high ceilings and dimmed lights. Cozy seating areas with couches and chairs were sectioned off by the curtains - perfect for couples or a small group of friends. I was surprised not to see a packed house, but its a good size and could accomodate a decent crowd on a Friday or Saturday night out. Our server was extremely helpful in finding us a few glasses of wine to pair with an appetizer - we took her recommendations as the list was overwhelming... several pages long, sectioned off by varietal and region. We were a bit hungry too and decided to share the baked brie. I suggest you order it too. I've never had baked brie this good - perfectly baked, just melted enough not to ooze everywhere and the balsalmic reduction adds a touch of acidity, only to be offset by the sweetness of the honey. Every order of baked brie I've had elsewhere must live up to the baked brie from the Wine Loft. I loved it and recommend it for any locals or travelers alike. read more

Having our wedding at the Wine Loft was one of the best decisions we made. Working with Kristin was SO easy, she was so accommodating and always easy to get in touch with. She was very timely about getting sample menus to us, hosted a lovely tasting for us prior to the wedding, and made the whole process seamless. Our guests were blown away by the great food, bar service, and overall cool vibe of the Wine Loft. We had about 150 guests total and fit the space perfectly (with a full band/dance floor area) without being too crowded.
