Lived there for few years and my review is mostly based on my experience when it was time to leave this property . We had a decent experience living here , except for the outrageous rent increase each year. Marlon, the manager seemed to be a nice guy but when we gave him the notice to leave , the whole thing changed . He gave us false informations and charged us extra for all the utilities that we never used . Due to my last month experience with Windsor and Marlon, I'll not be recommending this place to anyone . BEWARE!! When you are moving out, they completely change even tho they seem to be nice when you live there . NO GUEST PARKING! They have about 15 spots for guests with 2 hour maximum parking during business hours. They are VERY strict with this policy. They slap a sticker on your windshield after two hours as a "warning" that is near impossible to remove from your window without adhesive remover. THEN your car will be towed an hour later, this is not a warning at all! I've been towed 3 TIMES while visiting a resident for parking for a short 3 hours. Office staff is not at all sorry, in fact, I think they enjoy it. Seriously, give a $50 ticket to visitors rather than a $300 tow. This is JUST as effective and won't piss off your current residents and guests. Office staff are worried about having parking for future residents during business hours; however, they should really be worried about keeping their current tenants, especially since they charge an additional $200/month for "apartment services" on top of your rent. EVERYONE is upset and loud altercations between office staff and residents has become a daily ritual. DO NOT LIVE HERE, YOUR GUESTS WILL BE TOWED! read more

Very sad that I have to write this long lengthy review about how I am displeased with the management and The Windsor but it is important for the future renters and current renters. I give The Windsor 2 stars only because we did like our unit and enjoyed the discounted prices at the Marriott Hotel for brunch and rooms for our staying guests. Living: We lived at the Windsor since Aug. 2010 and Moved out on Sep 18th 2013. We loved our apartment on the 3rd floor it was nice, closet was too small, and we couldn't use our balcony because it is always covered in black dirt but over all we were satisfied with what we had. It was nice to be able to use the upstairs BBQ areas (we used them once for a birthday and 3 other times just to BBQ our dinner when my parents were visiting). There was almost always dog pee in the path to the elevator and once even dog poop... on the 3rd Floor! Parking: Isn't that great we paid for an extra spot because we have 2 cars (extra $75 a month). Parking is in a gated garage which is nice. Someone always parked their car in the drive way area in the garage which always got on my nerves only because I paid $75 a month so that I could park my car. I think the person was giving her spot up to a guest because guest parking is almost impossible for more then 2 hrs. MANAGEMENT: (AND THIS IS WHERE I'LL BEGIN MY RANT) We have been through 3 changes in management. The first manager was GREAT! Then the second was good too... the third is where that ends. Leading up to our departure I called in to find out how the move out policy went. I first talked to Leah who I asked what happens if we move out in the middle of the month and when do we get our deposit back? She told me that if we left 2 weeks before the month was up that we would be reimbursed for the prorated amount of days in the month that we had already paid for plus our deposit minus the cost of any damages that needed to be fixed. Then she checked to see what our deposit amount was which was $700. I repeated it all back to her just to make sure that I understood what she had said and she confirmed that it was correct. The day before I move out I tell Esther that we are going to be all moved out by the early afternoon the next day. She then mentions that we were supposed to give them a 30 day notice that we were moving out. I told her the conversation that I had with Leah in detail and she said that she would ask her about it and get back to me. The next day I turned in our keys to Leah and let her know we were all moved out. Then I see Esther in the parking lot as I am getting ready to leave and I ask her if she got the information from Leah. Esther told me that she had talked to Leah and that she didn't recall that conversation...... OH REALLY????? Hmmm ok! Esther informs me of the TRUE protocol of moving out! (We were paying month to month at this point so we were not in a 1 year contract anymore) Which is.... 30 day notice and if you move out sooner then you are responsible for 1 month rent or until they find the perfect person to rent your unit to. This correct information should have been given to us the first time. They were not willing to go by what Leah told me the first time and in fact I asked to have the contact information for corporate so I could call and talk to them.... I was told that Esther was talking to her Supervisor and that she would get back to me.... that never happened instead multiple phone calls and emails that I had sent where never replied to until Oct. 9th when I received an EMAIL titled "Move Out Statement".... "With your previous apartment being re-leased.... there is a balance on the account... responsible to pay 13 prorated days + a difference in previous rate and new MTM rate caused be non-renewal......" That is A LOT DIFFERENT then receiving a reimbursement for the days we paid and didn't stay AND our deposit back! NEVER was the first conversation I had with Leah EVER addressed and when I asked for corporates' contact information once again I was given an email to Resident Services: residentServices@Karsaz-Law.com. Then when I asked for their supervisors contact information my email was never responded to. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH THE WAY OUR MOVE OUT WAS HANDLED!!!!! We were great tenants, paid on time, respected our unit, and the building complex..... read more

We were told by the Winsor manager that we could get $89 per night at the Marriot hotel for our guess. We were also told we could get dry cleaning done, ordered food to our door, use the swimming pool and the gym from the Marriot Hotel... The Winsor made it sound like we were going to live as if we were at a resort, with bicycles available for the tenants, and more... and that is how they justified their high rent prices. When we called the Marriot to book a couple of nights for our guess; they did not know what I was talking about. It is a big fat lie that Winsor managers use to make the Winsor rent desirable... This happened to a lot of tenants but they don't complain so managers keep using it. The apartments are small and do not enough have storage, the closet is so small and uncomfortable. The area around the building has so much dog poop. It is a miracle if you step outside and do not bring poop on your shoes to you beautiful carpet. You can't enjoy the balcony if you face N. Main St; it collects so much smoke that if you walk on it stains the carpet and it will be taken from your deposit. You have a couple of choices: wash the balcony every 3 days or more often if possible, live with a very dirty carpet, or do not go to a balcony that you are paying for it. Security is a joke... they will be rude to you when you need them, tell you that they are on their way to help you NEVER show up. THE WORSE!!! Every time the Marriot hotel decides to install an "emergency air condition" for their guess they will put it right next to your apparent window... This Machine is huge makes a loud noise day and night. It does not let you sleep and there is nothing you can do. NOISE...NOISE...NOISE... Marriot pick up trash is about 4:00Am so you will be hearing a beeping noise for a while with a couple of slamming metal... after you go back to sleep around 6:00 AM you will hear the same noise again when they collect the Winsor trash.... Read this because the manager will not tell you about... You are lucky if there is a manager when you need it but, be comfortable, she will roll her eyes at you when you "bother her" asking for something. It is not worth the money spent on rent at the Winsor and the headaches you get with management. There are better places... I hope this helps.......... I recently moved into the Windsor after checking virtually every single apartment complex in Walnut Creek within the same price range. At the end I was debating Windsor or Brio and I'm glad I decided to go with The Windsor. My 1 bedroom apartment is spacious and the balcony is big enough to use in the summer. The management is great, and they really make you feel at home. Andrea, Michael, Stuart and Mitch are all very friendly and helpful, and things get done fast. I really couldn't expect more from an apartment building and I'm glad we've decided to move here. Seen some negative reviews here but they must be pretty dated because I haven't experienced any of the things they were talking about. For me, the Windsor ticks all the boxes. read more

The customer service from our first meeting with the property manager, Marlon, and his assistant, Crystal was outstanding. My wife and I lived here for 1 year while working in San Francisco. My wife convinced me to move in here because I thought it was too expensive. After living here I am very happy my wife convinced me to move in. Pros: Staff - 5 star service and quality people. The property managers, Shannan and Alvaro were quick to responding to our needs and maintenance requests. Location - About a 10 minute walk to the BART station. Safety - I never once saw any "creepers" in the parking garage or in the hallways. Just the opposite everyone I met was friendly and respectful. Other apartment complexes in Pleasant Hill/ Walnut Creek have had molestation charges - so safety was a big concern for me. Amenities- Access to the pool and fitness center at the Marriott next door. There is also a fitness center in the apartment complex. Both fitness centers have personal TV screens hooked up to the treadmills, free-weights, elliptical, and weight lifting machines. Room - Marble and granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathroom. Spacious rooms. Paying Rent - automated payment system instead of checks is very convenient. Never worry about forgetting to write checks. Cons: Location - located on a busy street with heavy traffic most of the day. There is a freeway off- ramp right up the street and cars don't slow down enough. Overall would highly recommend this complex to anyone asking. The units here are spacious, functional and appealing. The staff are kind and compassionate professionals. I was welcomed when I stepped in without an appointment on a Saturday and was given a guided tour of the building. I felt welcome by the few tenants we passed by and felt secure since it is a gated complex. The business team are with you from start to finish when moving in and continue to check in for any questions or concerns with the unit. They are glad to receive and deliver packages to your door or with your permission place inside your unit. They are quick to send work orders to the service team who respond promptly, are courteous, experienced, and have efficiently performed minor repairs sometimes same day of my request or within 24 hours. Hi, Y'all. I just moved into the Windsor Apartments in Walnut Creek California and I am thrilled with my new home. It is sophisticated, shockingly silent, and stunning. They painted one wall in each room any color, that I requested, provided large closets, hooked me up with appropriate rental furniture to fill in a few gaps, gave me free maid service for the first few weeks, and allowed me to bring my dog. I think I am going to love California...Heads up ladies there is a gorgeous blond guy who I see wandering around the really lovely courtyard at least once a week...He must travel a lot as I have not seen him often enough to meet him yet...but this Alabama girl is a dedicated optimist...The ladies in the office are helpful and have made it easy for me to move into the area...Thank You Windsor Apartments!!! read more

I joined Yelp just to leave a review of the Windsor, I've been that impressed. I moved in a few months ago and after having lived in several different complexes around the Bay Area over the years, I have been pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty picky and the thing that stood out the most to me when looking for a new apartment was how clean and new everything seems. I love the fact that it's attached to the Marriott. You get all the benefits of staying in a hotel while having your own apartment. It's so nice to have full use of the Marriott and the discount on their rooms and restaurant is an added bonus. I was happy to hear that in January, even room service will be available to Windsor tenants. The Marriott staff has been super friendly when I've used their facilities and have treated me like some sort of VIP. The staff at the Windsor has been exceptional and any time I have contacted them, the response has been very quick. Even little things, like a lightbulb change, are usually handled within the hour. The grounds are kept super clean. I have had great service from Mike, Andrea, Stuart and Mitch. The service is so personal that it really helps me feel "at home" here. I was surprised to see a few old negative reviews. My understanding is that there has been a big turn around with a new on-site team. I have had no noise issues or security concerns. I have a high stress job and need peace when I am home. I would recommend the Windsor to anyone looking for more than just an apartment. The Windsor is a great place to live! My husband and I have lived here over a year--while both working from home due to COVID--and the staff have gone out of their way to continue making us feel like a community while following health guidance and taking appropriate safety measures. Crystal organized food trucks to park in front of the Windsor back when restaurants were still shut down and they offered contactless delivery, too. The food trucks still come around about once a week, although they are tapering off as restaurants are opening back up in spring 2021. Crystal also organized a holiday party with a DJ playing in the courtyard and encouraged people to come out on their balconies or dance in the courtyard--all complemented by a beer/wine truck and food truck parked out front! John and Stuart are the maintenance guys and they consistently go above and beyond for any and all repair requests. The apartment itself is nice, spacious, and within about a mile of downtown Walnut Creek (so ~20min walk). We love living here and highly recommend it! read more

The locations is close to BART, has easy freeway access, and is close to downtown. Plus, you have access to the Marriott next door which is an amazing bonus. My husband and I lived here for a year and a half and absolutely loved it. The location is fantastic and the amenities are top notch. This apartment complex is very unique because it's connected to the Marriott Hotel allowing residents (not hotel guests of course) access to the hotel for use of their gym, pool and restaurant bar with 25% off 24/7. We took advantage of all of the amenities quite often and highly recommend future residents do the same especially if you're in the mood for live music and a cocktail on the weekends or Sunday brunch. Some of our favorite things about The Windsor were the rooftop views, rooftop grills, gated parking garage, elevators and small number of units. The apartment is quiet for the most part (especially top floor apartments), but can be noisier otherwise if you're not accustomed to living in an apartment. We lived on the first floor initially and then moved to the top floor facing the courtyard and were much happier. Crystal and Marlon always showed a genuine desire to accommodate any needs we had and Stuart and Eric were an excellent maintenance team who always addressed concerns quickly. This review is for Cristal. Today we went on a tour of the apartment we ended up calling our own within 2 hours... yes, it was that easy. As soon as we walked in the lobby Cristal was standing waiting for us with a smile. My boyfriend and I felt welcomed and comfortable from the start. On our tour Cristal not only just showed us around, but we really felt like she was excited for us and was wonderfully patient as we took our time to look around the unit and ask all the questions we could think of. As soon as we finished the tour we felt like this was the place for us. We applied shortly after and within the hour we were approved and the apartment was ours! Cristal was a great help and appreciate her professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile... so much so, my boyfriend emailed asking if we could get a floor plan with dimensions so we could plan out our furniture placement and she emailed what looked to be a paper she drew and measured out herself which was more than we expected. We relocated to Walnut Creek from the Netherlands in June 2016 and stayed at the Windsor for 2 months. The staff have made us feel at home from the very first moment we arrived and were kind enough to help us upon our arrival with our 8 suitcases and tired 2 year old son. Andrea and Marlon have provided exemplary service throughout our stay, going above and beyond to help us settle in and find our way. Staying at the Windsor was ideal for us as we could easily walk to downtown walnut creek or to the nearby BART stop. The apartment was good size and sound insulation was decent. The apartment building feels new and well maintained and there is a real community feel to the place as people bump into each other and meet up in common areas such as the relaxing terrace BBQ area. After apartment hunting all day and visiting 7 different apartments, I came across The Windsor...and I am so glad I did! I was greeted by two friendly faces, Marlon & Crystal. They instantly made me feel welcome and were able to give me a tour, without an appointment. Although I previously fell in love with the other apartments I visited (only for the luxurious looks) something told me to choose The Windsor as my new home. The one bedroom apartment was very spacious & clean! I am a germaphobe and very picky about where I live. The apartment was obviously well maintained & didn't have the nasty scent from old carpet like other apartments do. Everything was pretty much brand new! I also loved the type of friendly vibe everyone gave off. Residents that passed by Marlon & Crystal always greeted them & you can tell there is a great relationship between the residents & management. That's such a relief because other places I visited either didn't have a friendly management team...or they seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. Anytime I needed anything or had questions, Marlon & Crystal responded quickly & were more than helpful. The maintenance team is also extremely friendly & quick to respond. Maintenance Supervisor, Stuart has responded to my unit a couple of times & always does an excellent job! Also, as for the other residents...everyone I've come across whether it be in the elevator, on the patio, in the hallway or parking garage, has been very friendly & respectful. People have noticed I was new & welcomed me to the community & told me they love it here. I feel safe here & don't have to worry about packages being stolen or my car being broken into. Safety was a huge factor in my apartment hunting journey. So far I love living here & plan on renewing my lease when it's up. I think I'll only move out when it's time to buy a house...otherwise, couldn't be happier! read more

Living here for 2+ years now and loving it! I've been in the 2br/2bath apartment facing 680 and the 1br/1bath facing the patio. Units are still pretty new and in perfect condition. The gym is small but enough . The staff is very professional and always ready to help with any problem. 4 starts and not 5 because it's a little bit pricey IMHO, the swimming-pool is in the Marriott hotel, the garage door breaks now and then, and guest parking is very limited. and, btw, I love NOT to have 5-bars mobile service in my iphone! I have been living here for almost a year and here's my take: I. PRO - New apartment building - Very clean and modern - You can use the amenities at Marriott next door, such as swimming pool, for free - Have a small gym but with new equipment - Small but capable washer and dryer II. CONS Here are the big one that makes me wants to move out: a). UNRULY TENANT Half of the units in this apartment share a balcony, in that 2 units side-by-side have a balcony that is divided by a short and thin wall. The wall is only 2 feet. There are many unruly tenants, who watches TV, have party and loud at night. If you are next to this person, you not only CANNOT use your balcony, but you can hear them. These tenants are so loud you can hear it across from your balcony. Unfortunately, complaints to the management fell into deaf ear. There is supposedly a "Courtesy Patrol" that help with you this and their phone number is posted throughout the apartment, but calling them does NOT do anything, they won't come. b). RAMPANT ILLEGAL PARKING Each unit is assigned a parking space and it is gated, but it seems that most, if not all, of the tenant, have 2 cars. So they ended up parking everywhere they can see an empty space. YOUR space, space reserved for electric car (the space have charging station), visitor space, disabled space and even the section next to disabled space that have the "DO NOT PARK" sign on it. Again, the courtesy patrol is not there to enforce these issues. I have lived in other apartments where management do take the above seriously, such as: 1). Sending a letter to ALL tenants not to park illegally and they WILL start towing cars without warning. 2). The courtesy patrol actually RESPOND to your call in the rare event that there are unruly tenants. I once called them because my next door neighbor was playing loud music until 1:00 AM. The courtesy patrol came (I can hear them because I couldn't sleep!) and the music stopped. They then CALLED ME BACK and told me the issue is taken care of and to call them back if it continues. The Windsor CAN be a nice apartment, given the Pro's I have listed above. But they really need to start taking care of the tenant that currently live in the apartment and have enforcing the rule listed in the contract, such as noise and parking rules, especially when one pay close to $3000 / month for rent. read more

I stayed at the Windsor for about 1.5 years and recently moved out due to a change in employment. The apartments are nice and I got along well with my neighbors. Most people who live there are friendly and professional. Once thing I appreciated was that the walls are pretty think so the apartments are pretty quiet unless you are on the side facing 680. The Office management team (Marlon and Crystal) and the maintenance and grounds staff at the Windsor are amazing! Everyone here is super friendly and always helpful; whether its making sure you packages make it to your unit if you can't make it home from work in time to pick them up from the office, to any need maintenance or up keep needed at your unit. The maintenance team is great; they respond the same day; often within the hour and are always mindful of your living space and leaving your unit in the same condition it was when they arrived! The facilities are clean and well kept; and up-to-date, with option of new updated stainless steel appliances in the units. And having access to the Marriot and its amenities a definite plus!! Hands down would recommend the Windsor to anyone looking for a place to live in Walnut Creek!! read more
