Michael Vollmer is the best owner I have ever rented from! His team is top notch at everything they do. Let me tell you my experience while living there.
I had the 2 bedroom1 bath downstairs apartment next to the pool with a large fenced in side yard and double wide sliding glass door that led out to the patio. I filled it with flowers and plants everywhere and it was magnificent!
The flooring was wood or laminate but super nice and the perfect gray tan color that went with everything.
The kitchen was upgraded and I mean with top notch appliances! It had a deep kitchen sink with gooseneck faucet which was so wonderful and nice quality too. And I loved the Granite countertops and glass top stove. All appliances were brand new! I actually love to cook so I was thrilled - this was a real blessing!
Now let's talk about the bathroom!!! It was completely renovated too! Large tile floors and large tile in bathtub done in marbled white and gray tones. So gorgeous and easy to clean. I did add a very expensive medicine mirrored cabinet that I left there (sure hope he kept it for the next tenant). The sink and vanity were far above any apartment I've ever rented. They were very thoughtful in their upgrades as this had plenty of drawer space for storage (normally Apartments just have a huge empty space with no draws - bravo Michael) and it had a rectangular sink which was esthetically pleasing to the eye but also practical as when washing your face the water did not go everywhere and make a mess! (Great choice Michael)
Now let's move to the bedrooms. The master had 1 enormously huge mirrored closet for an apartment. It was large room and had a sliding glass door that went out to another gated side yard! Yes, you heard me correctly - 2 outdoor patio area!! Where can you find an apartment anywhere with 2 (two) patios? and it had a gate so you could store your bikes, kayaks, summer gear etc and if you wanted to put a small storage shed for all your toys you certainly could! Both rooms had nice new light gray carpets in them for comfort.
The second room had a smaller closet but I used it for storage as that is the one thing the apartment was lacking. The room was a good size though - I had a queen size bed in there and it was quite comfortable and roomy.
The living room was large and because of the huge sliding glass door that led out to the patio it felt even larger and it led into the dining area which is very large.
They have a beautiful little pool which is perfect but NOT HEATED! brrrr. However due to Covid I was not able to use it like I was hoping to.
They also have a nice well equipped work out area. It's small but had all the equipment that you would need for a good workout.
The laundry room is adequate and always clean. Machines did a good job of cleaning and drying the clothes but put dryers on Delicate as they run extremely hot and will burn up your clothes.
Parking is covered and in most cases they have storage in front of where you park.
If you need a repair they are usually there within 24 hours if not sooner.
Plus - you are one block away from Starbucks, Bike store, Nail salon, best burger and brew place in WC, and massage and skin care spa and across the street is the Dean Lesher Preforming Arts Building and dining galore. (Locust street is 2 blocks away and Main Street is 3 blocks away). Location, location, location!!! My sad story is that I could not take advantage of all of this due to COVID-19 - damn Covid!
Okay, now for the Downsides:
No central heating or air conditioning. However the electric heaters work very well. In fact excellent. There is one in the living room and another in the hall next to bedrooms and and bathroom. Air conditioning was just ok. I had to buy a stand up fan to get the air into the bedroom areas.
No linen closet - and boy did I need one. They have a coat closet that you could get creative with.
Lastly, my upstairs neighbor wore cement boots all the time! and was home 24/7. Michael did everything in his power to try to help the situation but the building is old and the floors and insulation need revamping so if you can handle the excessive noise you should be okay. But you have been warned.
As you can sense by this review I miss this place. I currently live at a resort in Boise but I miss my kitchen, bathroom, and the living room with the enormous sliding glass door where I could always enjoy looking at all my flowers and plants. I hope whoever rented it next is loving it as Much as I did
