Every maintenance request I filed was taken care of very promptly, any technical/rent payment issues or questions that I had asked the staff were all answered swiftly, and all ammenities were very professionally maintained, organized and welcoming. If I had to live in an apartment complex but could choose the city I'd place the complex in, I without a doubt would choose the Windsor and its exceptional staff - I cannot recommend them enough! read more

Was a tenant here for 4 years. Everything I could ask for in an apartment complex. Management, especially Crystal, is attentive, responds quickly to any inquiries and is very nice and professional. Maintnence team is top notch and very responsive as well and quick to any requests put into their system. The unit itself is spacious and well beyond what most in the area can provide for the price point. Street noise is tolerable and not too much of a problem (for a single childless male.) Having guest parking and a locked garage was a must for me as well which they checked. Only reason I'm leaving is for work in another city. There is a secured, indoor parking garage that makes coming home late at night much safer. The apartments are absolutely gorgeous. Super large bathroom and walk-in closet. Large living area and outdoor balconies. As far as the office and maintenance staff goes, a six star rating applies here, too. The community manager, Crystal, is professional, efficient, super friendly and on top of any issue you might have. After much research, we moved in to the Windsor last June, Our daughter was diagnosed with cancer, and we needed a two bedroom to help her newlywed husband care for her during her treatment. (Um...yay...newlyweds with in-laws!) The 2 Bed 2 Bath apartment gave us plenty of room, and they had their own space. The building is very well laid out, with nice areas to walk around the courtyard or grounds. The rooms are VERY quiet. The apartment is not too far from the elevator, but I cannot hear it, never hear anyone outside. It is a very well build building. Crystal, Stuart and John are the BEST! If there was anything that was needed, they took care of it. Immediately. They truly care about the building, and their neighbors. Downtown Walnut Creek is an easy walk. They decided to save money and sell one of their vehicles. Bart, restaurants, and even Dr appointments were in walking distance! Among the best part of the Windsor is being attached to the Marriott. On a Friday night, you can walk over to the lobby, listen to relaxing live music, and have a drink (and 25% off!). It feels like you are on in a resort, on vacation, there is a quality zen like atmosphere. Best location, best people, the best apartments, the best amenities. This review pertains to the amazing service that I received from The Windsor's staff. At the time of this writing, I will be moving to Walnut Creek, CA soon and at one point I considered moving into The Windsor. I currently live in Austin, TX and at the time of searching for apartments in the Bay Area, I didn't have the time to fly out to search for apartments in person. Marlon (part of management) went out of his way to help me as much as he could even though I wasn't in town. He even took the time to record a video of the potential unit that I was considering. He also asked me if I wanted videos of the other areas of the community as well. He explained the background and history of the apartments and how it became the place that it is today. He also mentioned how The Windsor goes out of their way to help and assist their residents and how they strive to retain their tenets by not doing extreme price hikes when it is time to renew. He also went of his way to assist with my move in processes as well upon arrival since I was going to be arriving a little late. I definitely will not forget the kindness that I received from here. With the discounts at the Marriott, to the free assigned parking space, to the gorgeous views of Mt. Diablo from the from the resident's common area, from what I can tell there are only positives about this place. The only reason I didn't move here is because of timing. I found another unit at a different apartment community that had the view that I wanted in my moving time frame plus some other features that I wanted for a slightly lower price. The Windsor does indeed have apartments with wonderful views, however, that specific unit was not going to be available until May. If things don't work out at my other apartment after living there for one year, I will definitely be considering The Windsor again for a future move. read more

The thought of looking for a new place to live was so draining after the experience that my roommate and I had at our last apartment complex. From the moment that I called The Windsor, I got nothing but a five star treatment. Dealing with the current situation of the Covid-19, we had to do everything virtually and over the phone. Crystal was more then amazing. She did everything in her power to make sure we had an easy and great move-in experience. We felt so at home from the moment that we walked in. I should start by stating that we ultimately did NOT choose the Windsor as our future residence this time, but that decision was entirely based on our preference toward urban living. This is my first post on yelp, and though I find Yelp helpful, it is also difficult to tell whether or not someone is blowing smoke for ulterior motives or being real for the benefit of open knowledge - that said, the Windsor was the favorite of the 12 different apartment buildings/homes we saw over the span of a month. Though it is older (built before 2010) than most of the places we looked at, it was the cleanest, most well kept, and offered the most benefits. The people there, at least the ones that i had the pleasure of meeting (Marlon and Crystal), were the type of folks that genuinely care about your experience - and having lived in complexes around the area for a while.. that is not so easy to find, and further more - to count on. I feel like they answered all my questions via email within minutes, and were willing to work with us to make sure we had everything we needed. For me, the Windsor defined the "Luxury Apartment" we were looking for from the start. The vibe i got while there (talking to staff and two residents) was that the staff took sincere care of their residents and the company took good care of their staff - apparently the owner of the building subscribes to the notion that people and their well-being are more important than making a quick dollar and intends to keep the building in the family so the people there seemed - i dont know - more secure than they would otherwise be (for what it's worth). As far as living there, obviously, you'd have to read some other entries, but i know its 2+ blocks from BART - Walnut Springs and is right off the major highways (680 & 24). You can see EVERYTHING from the roof-deck (or whatever they call it), it was gorgeous. tldr:: The apartments are beautiful and charming with plenty of space, the people are accommodating and sincere with a mindful pace - best of luck finding your spot! read more

I love Crystal. This is a hard review to write, but I was moving to a location near the school where I go, and Crystal was the first lease agent I worked with. Kind, compassionate, caring, amazing. She was there for me constantly. I ended up having a business opportunity come for a location much closer but there was one problem - no Crystal. I prayed on this a ton. The amenities were worse, leasing staff worse. I ran it bye loved ones, but I felt it was the best career decision over the next year. If you are reading this review and you have found Windsor - go with Crystal. You are done. Had this opportunity not come up I would've stayed here easily. My Fiance and I visited several apartment communities in Walnut Creek. Even after being wowed by the many perks and amenities these apartment communities had in common, we were most pleased with our experience at The Windsor. Pros: -Better customer service all around - Crystal and Marlin not only treated us like we were a part of the community, but they stayed late to offer us a viewing during the week to accommodate our work hours. Other apartments shut us down for a viewing an hour prior to closing! -Access to the Marriott amenities was definitely enticing -Significantly larger 1 bedroom apartment than most other apartments -Close to Bart - I am able to walk to BART every day and not pay for parking We are fully moved in now and still very pleased with the customer service from both Crystal, Marlin as well as the onsite Service men Eric and Stuart who have helped us hang things on our wall without question! I visited this apartment complex and received one of the most welcoming tours that I have ever received. Crystal Byrd is absolutely amazing! Right from the start, she makes sure that you feel like a priority, and not just another apartment applicant. As we toured the complex, I was blown away by how she seemed to know everybody's name. If you are looking for a place with spectacular staff, then I would highly recommend this location! If you're looking for a well-built apartment that seems to have considered everything (noise, etc.), then this is the place! If you're looking for two sinks in the bathroom so that you and your roommate do not have to fight over the sink, then look no further! The apartment was built by Marriott for their executives and has excellent architecture as a result. It's also a few minutes (less than 5 minutes?) away from Bart! (P.S. I have been very happy with The Windsor, the building and team are both awesome. The building is clean, well kept and in a great location. Shared patios have nice grills that I use often. The garage is large, has sensored entry, is well maintained and safe. My wife and I relocated across the country on short notice and did not have a chance to physically view the apartment before moving in, we worked with Crystal and she was super helpful, I would recommend her highly. She digitally showed us around multiple units, provided a full suite of pics for every unit, was responsive and just made the experience very easy. We're very happy with the unit we chose. Having a 25% discount on everything at the Marriott and free use of its facilities is a nice bonus. BART is right there, takes about 5mins to walk to the train. read more

I have lived in the Windsor for 5 years for a "Temporary" work assignment and have seen a couple of management changes thru that time. I am not quick to write reviews unless I have a track record. My experience, since Marlon became the property manager, the apartment building has gotten better and better with improvements, incredible safety, amenities, cleanliness and above all the resident experience (customer service) is top notch. The team is responsive, friendly, and generous in their time to help. Stewart can fix anything and Crystal in the office is exceedingly helpful and responsive. We have only been in our apartment ~1 month now, but so far the complex is quiet, clean, and feels very safe! It is in a great location - close to downtown Walnut Creek & Heather Farms Park. The only downside is our particular apartment does not get much natural sunlight; however, Crystal has been fabulous working with us to switch to a courtyard apartment if one becomes available. ** First I'd like to say that the rating on here is seriously skewed, please look at the filtered reviews; they are definitely monitoring these pages and trying to remove the unflattering, honest ones. I lived here from early 2013-early 2014. I was attracted to the nice, quality apartments and the peace and quiet of living in Walnut Creek. At first, things were great, however, as many others mentioned, the shift in management really caused a decline in quality. They must have ran some sort of white-trash special because my neighbors went from professionals to people who I witnessed having sex on the balcony (only because they woke me up at 3am). I escalated that situation to management who told me it was my word against theirs so she could do nothing. While it's a non-smoking apartment complex, that certainly doesn't stop anyone from smoking. I had to keep my door and window closed at all times, otherwise, my apartment REEKED of cigarettes, which is repulsive to someone who does not smoke. I complained, and even provided photos of the people who were smoking below me, yet management shrugged it off and did nothing. Management doing nothing seems to be a common theme from the amount of people complaining about parking, unclean hallways, etc. Once a neighbor posted a rant in the elevators regarding managements unfair treatment of tenants...I can't say I blame them. The final straw was a garbage truck that came by from 4-6am (depending on the day) and backed up, causing a loud beeping sound that could wake the deepest of sleepers. I asked management, who pretty much rolled her eyes at me and did nothing. I was so desperate, I called the Motel 6 manager to beg him to change their schedule. While he was much more receptive to my complaints than the woman sitting in the leasing office, he let me know there was nothing he could do. Basically, we decided for the amount of rent we paid, we could do much better, or at least find a place where you're treated like a human being. We did, and moved immediately. When we moved out, we were told we'd get half our deposit back. Not only did they take all $400 (for literally, our perfectly clean apartment), but they charged us an additional hundred or so dollars for "damages." We were going to fight, but would rather never deal with these scummy people so we paid and washed our hands of the Windsor and it's AWFUL, awful management staff. OVERALL: Do not move here, especially with such great alternatives nearby! read more

I moved into The Windsor in October 2012 and lived there for a year. I would have stayed longer but had to move to Southern California for work. I absolutely loved living at The Windsor. The property is newer so the units all have nice appliances and granite countertops. The common areas are kept clean and the courtyard is nicely landscaped. There are also two fully furnished rooftop decks with BBQ's. And lastly the location is awesome, right off the freeway and close to downtown Walnut Creek. As for the management, I never had any issues. Alvaro helped me when I was moving in, it was a fast process and I felt very welcomed. Esther helped me with moving out and did what she could to get my unit rented faster so in return I was able to move out ASAP. The maintenance team was always nice and responded to service calls quickly. Other perks are you're able to request maintenance and pay rent via their online portal, and you have free access to the Marriott's pool and gym which is located next door. read more

This is based only on my visit to the leasing office and tour around the property and inside the apartments. The management is Alliance, which I loved at my previous apartment (until they sold to Essex - but I was assured that would not be the case with Windsor). Good management is key. They are SO nice. A resident holding her baby passed by us in the hallway, and the leasing lady introduced us because she knew the baby's name is the same as mine. This gave me the impression that she remembers residents, which means she cares about them. I was given a thorough tour, and the apartments are lovely. Windsor was definitely my #1 top choice for our new home and Walnut Creek seems so safe and clean, but we ended up renting elsewhere for a shorter commute to work in SF. read more

I just moved out of the Windsor this past weekend, and it was incredibly hard to leave this place behind. I have lived in 13 different apartment complexes over the last 13 years and this place was absolutely the pinnacle of my apartment dwelling experiences so far. The staff here is outstanding. Michael, Andrea, Stuart, and Mitch were all so incredible during my entire duration at the Windsor. They took customer service to a completely new level for the rental hospitality industry. Michael and Andrea accommodated every request we made, not only were they super friendly to me and my spouse, but they extended their kindness and hospitality to my family as well when they would visit from out of town. They helped my parents with parking, reserved bbq areas for us, helped us with extra keys, the list goes on and on. Mitch and Stuart do an incredible job of maintaining the property. I never had an issue with cleanliness or broken amenities. The grounds are very well kept. I had also seen Mitch many times late at night helping out with a stuck garage door or anything else a resident may need. Stuart gave us a bunch of moving blankets for our moving day, and also lent us a dolly for the heavy items. We didn't even have to ask! He just stopped by and donated these things. The apartments themselves were spacious and pretty quiet. The use of the amenities at the Marriott were an absolute bonus. You can't go wrong living in this community. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone. If I am ever living in the Walnut Creek area again you can be sure that I'll be checking out the Windsor again! read more

Well, we just moved out and I was compelled to write a follow-up on our whole experience: The staff that moved us in almost completely turned over during our stay there, but the changes were all improvements. Andrea and Mike are super accommodating, and the maintenance crew lead by Stuart, are on top of it. The entire atmosphere here is welcoming, high-quality, you feel like you're a person not a unit number and that they care, which may sound cheesy, but considering the apartment we moved TO, is really worth it's weight in gold. There is really only one thing we found that we didn't like about living here and that was the lack of closets in the units. For some weird reason, there's only one medium-sized closet in the 1 bedroom we rented. We made it work and really, we knew going in that's what we'd get, so, it was on us to choose differently if it had really been a problem. I can't say enough good things about this complex and the management. I wish we could have stayed and I'm fairly certain they will go down as the #1 apartment I've lived in in CA out of eight. read more
