Only been here this 1 time but will be happy to return if in the area again. Group of 4 -each had something different: catfish plate, short rib sandwich, southern chicken sandwich & country fried steak. All were very good except country fried steak was tough. Short rib & chicken sandwiches were great! Wasn't crazy about bloody mary -was a bit watery/thin-not tomatoey enough. Also had chicken wings which were very good. Portions were generous. I dropped by here for a weekday lunch, and was glad that the Wilson Cafe has resumed their mid-day service schedule. The restaurant portion of the building was almost empty, and I was seated almost immediately, but I was placed at a table in a high traffic area next to the kitchen. After a while, I flagged down an employee since it was unclear to me who my server was. I put in an appetizer order of their heavenly eggs. They included a wonderfully tart sauce, and the serving size was three eggs. The mushroom gnocchi that I had was delicious, and enough to feed two people. The potato dumplings were expertly made, and some of the best that I've ever eaten. Other than the service being a bit hit and miss, I would return if only for the excellent food. read more

I started with the mimoosa flight. The flavors weren't labeled, but I believe the strawberry and apple were my favorite. I ordered a medium rare ribeye, which was slightly overcooked but still a very good cut of meat. I did not care for the coleslaw or the gouda macaroni and cheese. The meal was served with toast. The chocolate pecan pie with ice cream was good. I arrived at 6:30 and was given a glass of water that a drank immediately because i was thirsty. Any establishment that must function understaffed should be like Nashville clubs and set out a jug of water so people can refill their cups on their own. They took my drink order at 7. There were no empty seats at the bar so I sat alone at a table. The experience was OK but they need at least one more server. The only reason they get by with charging over fifty dollars for the steak is because there's literally no other place within 40 miles you can get a good steak. The sides are below average. Absolutely freaking loved this place! The town of Wilson isn't exactly a metropolis, but its place and the adjoins hotel/golf course/museum are worth the drive. I worked at the nearby steel mill and stopped in for lunch and to take in the architecture. The meal and service were great and it's a destination type place for sure. read more

We love this quaint town as a day getaway. Our waitress was nice & attentive. I will say, the food was not as appetizing as expected. Having ate at the grange with a much more gourmet food tasting, we were a little disappointed. It was absolutely cafe style food. What a hidden jewel! Beautiful location with great seating. Fully stocked bar with cocktails. The service was exceptional. Tried green tomatoes, cauliflower, deviled eggs and loaded fries. All were exceptional and the cauliflower was a surprise. I shared the spare rib, potatoes with mushroom and carrots with my husband. Meat was so tender and great taste. The peanut butter pie to wrap it up was so creamy but not so rich I couldn't have more than one bite. Wilson serves a meal that you won't be making at home! Fantastic! read more

We had no problems with the food it was all really good.The problem we had was when we ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner and our waitress took forever to find it and then proceeded to bring it to the table already opened and without the cork this is a huge red flag in my book.Our bottle was only $45 but I can only imagine if she'd done that with someone who'd ordered a really expensive bottle. you just need to educate your staff more on this. read more

We have been here twice in the last month, the first time was when we were visiting Arkansas for the first time deciding if we were gonna move here and the second time was after looking at a house after we moved here. This will for sure be the "celebration spot" due to the price of some items but will definitely recommend anyone to try. The food was great and consistent. Absolutely worth the drive. The cafe itself is so charming and the staff was friendly and efficient. No one acted like it was a chore to wait on you or that you were inconveniencing them. The menu had an amazing variety of choices. I had the smoked bologna sandwich and my lunch guest had the cheeseburger. Portions were more than adequate. Both were well prepared and presented. Most of all they tasted great! The only drawback was the fries. I'm not a skin-on fry lover and these were especially unappealing to me. The whole town is an absolute gem, and the cafe was clean and well staffed. We will definitely be returning for one of their wine dinners or other events. Bottom line is go! read more

Amazing dining experience. The Wilson Cafe is a quaint restaurant, nestled in the heart of town. There service is always great. I had the pleasure to be served by Robin and Taylor. Both were an absolute pleasure. The cauliflower was very good. It has a remoulade sauce drizzled all over and cooked with spices. The mushroom pasta had a nice Parmesan sauce with a variety of mushrooms. The meatloaf was seasoned well and served with mashed potatoes with a sweet sauce for extra flair. The Brussels were an extra side and are served with pork. The Blondie was great! It has pecans and white chocolate. It was warm and served with vanilla ice cream. Kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. We are located in Memphis and the drive was about 45 minutes - but WELL worth it. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic. I have grown up going to the Wilson Cafe over the years and it never disappoints! Tonight my family and I sat in the side party room. The cotton wallpaper is fun & fitting for a town centered around the cotton industry. We had the smoked burrata as an appetizer. Burrata is one of my favorite foods so anytime it is on a menu I order it. This time I was particularly intrigued at it being smoked. It came out covered with a dome top filled with smoke. They uncovered it and the smoke dissipated beautifully You could taste the smoky flavor and it succeeded my expectations. For my entree I had the short rib gnocchi. It was incredible. The short rib was tender and it there was a very generous amount, more than I could finish. The sauce was creamy and flavorful with a variety of of different mushrooms. The soft and pillowy gnocchi and the stringy short rib paired well together. I also had focaccia with honey butter. The honey butter reminded me of my childhood. While most everyone else enjoyed their meal I have to include that my cousin was disappointed in his filet. It was burnt to a crisp on the bottom and lacked seasoning. However, some one else at the table had a ribeye and it was cooked and seasoned excellently. There were also two other filets that were said to be decent. Overall, the food was delicious and met all expectations. Make sure you don't leave without trying the bread pudding! The salty-sweetness melts in your mouth and I love the hint of white chocolate that they add. Finally, the service is wonderful. Our waitresses were very nice, helpful, and timely with checking in. The manager and chef also stopped by our table and were very personable and friendly. If you're ever in Wilson stop by the cafe! It won't disappoint and is a culinarily gem in the middle of the Delta! read more

INCREDIBLE! I sat at the bar for lunch and had a fantastic experience. Despite arriving just a half hour before they closed for lunch, service was welcoming and prompt. On a strong recommendation from a colleague, I got the sweet tea and wasn't disappointed. For my meal, I got the firebird sandwich - it was a perfect blend of sweet, spicy, crispy, tender, and moist. The seasoning on the chicken is out of this world and I will absolutely be taking the time to visit next time I'm in the Memphis area.
