    Not 8:00Pm

I am writing this minutes after it happened. I had just got off the road and saw a Huddle Restaurant. I drove in too the parking lot. I went in and waited to be seated. A wait person can out of the kitchen. I smiled and expected to be seated. There were two couples seated. One of the couples appeared to have finished their meal and were sitting, perhaps waiting for the check. The second couple were perusing a menu. The server said to me "We aren't seating anyone" I looked puzzled. She said it was after 8:00 PM. It actually wasn't, by this time it was 7:59 PM. I had been standing there for a minute or so before she came out which put my entering the restaurant before 8:00. She insisted that they weren't seating after 8. I showed her my watch and my phone, both of which,at that moment, said 7:59. She refused to acknowledge that it was not yet 8 PM. I left. I understand that no one reading this will ever have the opportunity of refusing to patronize this particular Huddle House because of my posting here, I also understand Huddle House will most likely never read this but I just there are some real jerks working in the service industry. Attached is the screen shot of my phone after I was told it was 8:00 PM. The reason I gave one star is because can't post review without a star rating.

Food was very good. Small building with counter seating, booth and tables that made it cozy. Very busy when we got there and the tables were cleaned quickly for the next bunch. Our waitress was very good for being there 10 hours. Would eat here again! Has breakfast lunch and dinner.

Decent breakfast. Came here en route to returning to Chicago from Memphis. I took a chance on this place because of some of the "iffy" Yelp reviews but good thing I took a chance. When we walked in the door, all the staff gave us a friendly greeting. Plus 1 for service! The waitress was nice and helpful. I grabbed the stuffed hashbrowns, pulled pork and bacon. It was good. The gravy was decent, very hearty and the biscuit was cooked perfectly. Good spot for a quick breakfast.

This table of food is just two MVP platters, which are $8 each. Everything was perfect!

I've been here a dozen times over a few years, and have never had a bad experience. It's good enough that we stop here to eat on Our way to Memphis. They have an insanely huge breakfast platter for $8, and dishes as cheap as $3-$5. Huge variety of selection. I honestly look forward to eating here. It's a roadside diner in a small Delta town, so don't expect a spotless and upscale experience. This is buttery, fried, tasty diner food, plus a wild mix of seasonal selections on the menu.

This place is a stop for us every time we drive pass. The people here are so friendly and really seem to enjoy their job. The food here has always been very good. This is a diner, so don't expect caviar and escargot, but expect friendly service with a smile.

Sunrise Memphis did not disappoint. We stopped in around 12:30 p.m. on a Wednesday and didn't experience any crowds or much of a lunch rush. That being said, after eating here, I completely understand why people mention waiting hours on weekends. The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order, grab a number, and seat yourself. I appreciated that they offer both breakfast and lunch all day because it meant we didn't have to choose between the two. I ordered the chicken tenders with tater tots and an Arnold Palmer. Everything was fresh, hot, and exactly the kind of comfort food you crave in the middle of a long road trip. Kyler ordered the Kitchen Sink, which came with eggs, bacon, hash browns, grits, and a biscuit. He asked if he could swap the cheesy grits and biscuit for biscuits and gravy, and they ended up bringing him everything anyway! It was a massive meal, but absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also loved the fun, eclectic atmosphere. The colorful Memphis touches throughout the restaurant gave it so much personality, and there was even a bar area that made me think this would be an absolute blast for brunch with friends. Sunrise Memphis ended up being one of our favorite surprises of the entire drive. If you're passing through town, do yourself a favor and stop here.

A step inside at the same time the counter guy hollered back to let the cooks know a graduation was about to begin so "expect to be busy soon" confirmed that fact! You order at the counter and are given a number for your table and your food is delivered with a smile and some casual southern hospitality banter. This place is quirky with its decor but on point with the food. Get the bacon! Always get the bacon! I'm still dreaming about it! Be warned! We were told during busy times, the line stretches around the building for a steady 8hrs at a time! May the timing of your visit ever be in your favor!

The inside decor was very eclectic with art, paper stars hanging from the ceiling, and mix-matched furniture. It felt very fun. We chose to sit in a booth by the window around 1:00. There was only one other table of patrons when we arrived. It was very cold inside, but it looked clean. I ordered a ham sandwich with chips. My mom ordered a pick two with half BLT and a half cup of chicken and wild rice soup. The wait was slow for some cold sandwiches and premade soup. My sandwich was good but it just tasted like regular deli meat on white sandwich bread. The chips came from a basket with two different types of sun chips, which were not my favorite. My mom's soup did not have any chicken or meat in it, just the broth and lots of beans. It was also very spicy, which unfortunately didn't work with her dietary restriction. She wasn't able to eat much of it. We both got drinks, as well, but never refills. Our waitress didn't come back to check on us. Together the bill was in the mid $30s + tax and a tip. It just felt overpriced for mediocre food and service. Cute place, but I probably won't go back.
