Gotta try! French toast, scrambled eggs/sausage and Gouda/Bacon Grits
    Gretchen H.

Main Street Eatery takes a family owned restaurant to a whole other level. Giving culinary Southern comfort food, a twist nothing short of an art form. This darling restaurant, atmosphere and southern hospitality makes you feel a guest of an extension of their home and feels less like being a normal patron at a chain restaurant. Every detail is methodically put together in every dish and cup of coffee. Oh... you MUST try the coffee!! From the decadent yummy thick French toast that soaks over nite and delicious grits taken to a new level with Gouda and bacon this place will leave you wanting more-- wishing you had more room to spare in your stomach. I promise you will leave with a smitten smile! :)

A family owned restaurant in Somerville that is wonderful! They have a specialty pancake each month. The pumpkin pancakes this month are amazing and I am looking forward to trying the white chocolate cranberry pancakes next month. The pancake batter is great and I have no doubts that their plain pancakes with syrup are amazing too. For breakfast, they bring out a basket of mini biscuits with butter and jelly. Their version of chips and salsa. LOL If you are in Somerville for breakfast, give them a try. The lunch menu sounds good and we hope to try that sometime soon.

I feel bad. I'm torn. My folks raved about this place and they were excited to take us here. We drove quite a bit out of the way and my first impression was positive...cute little country-kitchen decor with homemade southern fare run by a family. This is really more of a one or two star review...and I struggled for the bright spots. So yes - the place is cute...but if you want actual southern breakfast/lunch/brunch type food, you'll need to visit on Saturday mornings. We were there for lunch on a weekday and the menu was extremely limited. I opted for a grilled chicken salad (smaller size)...which was served in a medium sized deep bowl.... of mostly iceberg lettuce.... that was hard to get at without making a mess. Others at the table had the chicken salad, reuben and mixed veggie plate (black-eyed peas, creamed corn and lima beans). We shared the blackberry cobbler for dessert. They usually have many desserts to choose from but this particular day they didn't. The best reviews came from the reuben. The cobbler was decent. The chicken salad was not my cup of tea...the ratio of mayo to chicken is off the hook. Too much mayo...and I do like mayo. But this was more of a, "would you like some chicken with your mayonnaise"? One other thing....there were very young children helping to clear, bus and clean tables. At first, I thought it was cute and awesome that these kids were helping out. But then I saw one of them with a (very) dirty, (very) wet rag wiping down an already dirty table - schmearing the previous guests food remnants along the surface...ultimately pushing chunks on the floor... and then placing perfectly clean utensil roll-ups on top of said tables. Health department, anyone? According to my folks, we hit them on an off day. So...while my experience was lackluster, perhaps they were really just having a bad day.

This is the full menu as of January 9th, 2021.

Best breakfast, hands down! The French toast is BAR NONE in the county. And the owner truly cares about the customers.

Home cooking, meh. Food was ok. Everyone's chili was barely warm. Waitress even said she thought she let it sit too long. Definitely not the best grilled cheese I've had. Nothing special, just your usual grilled cheese. Went here with family that lives in the town. I'm sure they love the place, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.

My husband has been eating at…read moreThe King of Wings (perfect name for this place) his entire life and it's the go to for him and our son when I'm out of town working. I'm hesitant to even put a review out there on how truly wonderful it is, with the major city that sits right next door to us and not wanting everyone to just rush out here and take it over, but I have to give credit where credit is due and The King of Wings is spot on. Immediately, when you walk in the door you're greeted by the sweetest southern lady that makes you want to bring a lawn chair on your next visit just to sit outside and talk to her and a gentle giant that you just know is a shenanigan stopper, but you want him to be an uncle to your teenage kids when they mess up. The environment is like home and welcoming and I haven't even gotten to the food that is going to make you question where have you been ordering wings your entire life. They have numerous flavors to choose from and their wings are whole wings, not the divided up wings that you're going to pay double or more for from other places. If you know, you know. Their onion rings are homemade, just like they came from your grandma's fryer and the fried green tomatoes, I will with confidence say are the best I've ever had in my life. The night we ordered was the night of the football jamborees in West TN so we knew we were going to have several hungry teenagers at our house that night. We got a 50 wing platter with a few different flavors, tenders, onion rings, fries, and Ofcourse those fried green tomatoes. All of this, for under 80$. They could charge double that and still beat out other wing places but they keep their business small and more like you're ordering from family. A few things to know before going 1. They are cash only. I had to go to the ATM to get cash because I didn't know this and to my surprise they started my order while I was gone. I love this about them, that they are keeping it small and instead of having to keep up with credit card charges and bank fees, they take cash and instead invest that into their food and keeping their prices affordable for everyone. 2. It is carry out only, but on that note as sweet and kind as the owner is, I think she would probably sit down with you and talk while you ate your food from your lap and it would be the best meal of your life. 3. They close at 6PM, so this isn't going to be that late night place to eat. They are a gem in a small town and keep to that small town appeal with their hours and pace. Seriously, in a town that sits up against a major city with hundreds of wing places to choose from, come to small town Somerville and give the King of Wings a try. It's going to become your favorite spot and you're going to leave there smiling and feeling better about your day.

The atmosphere simply wasn't inviting or comfortable. The food was equally disappointing. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, this isn't it. The dishes seemed to be an Americanized version of Mexican food, but even by that standard they missed the mark. The flavors lacked authenticity, freshness, and quality. Communication was also challenging because several of the servers had very limited English, making it difficult to ask questions or request anything beyond the basics. Overall, this restaurant needs significant improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, food quality, and service. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it and would not return. They over charge for everything and the staff seem happy and unaware of this the just follow what they told like drones. I won't be back this is my third time hoping things might get better with the limited choices in Tennessee. Maybe that is it no competition so the owners just don't care!! Fake Mexican no pictures because they are worth posting . 1 star is really to Much
